Hikari - Algae Wafers - 40g
Algae Wafers are recommended as a daily diet for Plecostomus and other algae eaters, including marine herbivores. Designed by Hikari, known for their high-quality and science-based tropical fish food, these algae wafers provide a perfect balance of premium-select ingredients. These algae wafers have been developed to promote proper growth and desirable form in most herbivorous species. The uniquely shaped discs sink rapidly and retain their shape, which allows less aggressive species access to its nutrition longer. However, make sure not to over-feed your aquarium inhabitants. Feed your fish no more than the amount they will consume within approximately 2 hours. For optimal results, feed your tropical fish late in the day or at night.

My plecos, ottocinclus and corydoras cat fish like these (yes even the picky ottocinclus). They sink fairly quickly and hold together okay. Although the size can be a bit too large if feeding only 1 or 2 fish so need to keep eatch to remove it once they are finished so as not to foul the water. Price wise it's a bit more expensive than other brands but quality wise it's better than others.

Bought theses for my Nerite Rabbit snails, but instead my Black moors and Corydoras ended up loving these! Overall great wafers, as they don’t make your water cloudy! I usually give these as a treat for my Black Moors Corydoras! I love have they have small packaging sizes that way you can try out to see if you fishies love them or not!

I bought these for my bristlenose plecostomus and she definitely finds them appealing. I was surprised at how many other fish did as well. The kuhli loaches, every snail in the tank, and even the somewhat food-aggressive tetras were interested. So, I now drop these just before bed to make sure my shy girl gets her share.

Good algae disks for fish! My fish seem to love them, and I like the ingredients in the product! Doesn't really smell bad, and always is eaten fast by my fish. They're a bit on the more expensive side, but honestly worth it. Will absolutely repurchase!
The fish absolutely love these algae wafers, they start looking for them the moment I drop one in. I’ve tried all kinds of algae wafers over the years and these they’ve liked the best. Doesn’t cloud the tank or spike the ammonia levels like some other kinds of algae wafers. The only minor down side is the fish love these so much they’re slacking on eating the algae growing naturally in the tank.
I have used these for my plecos as well as my mystery snails and they both love them!! These are one of the staple brands I have been using for many years of fish keeping. They are easy to break up in smaller pieces if needed, unlike some other brands I have tried. Overall I would definitely recommend these to any pleco or mystery snail keepers!!
I had no idea that my community tank would love these things this much! I dropped one in and they ignored it initially. Later on, I was watching the tank and a big group of fish were going crazy on one side of the tank, at the bottom. I went to see what was going on and they were eating off this wafer that had expanded a bit and changed shape. My fish 🐠 🐟 love these wafers and it adds good variety to their diet.
Every inhabitant in my tank from my fish, inverts to my frog love these wafers. I break them into 2 pieces and toss them in the tank during the night and I see every creature going for it. It's definitely an aquarium staple.
I recently bought a golden mystery snail to add to my tank with a betta fish. I put a wafer in and went somewhere for an hour. When I came back, the water was mildly cloudy. I didn't think much of it and went to bed. The next morning the water was even foggier but I had to go to school so I couldn't clean the tank. When I came back it was almost impossible to see through the glass of my tank and there was some dirt/muck floating at the top of my tank. The water smelled horrible and I cleaned my tank immediately. I will never buy this product again.
This is a good quality wafer food for bottom feeders that eat algae. The package was a bit smaller than I realized, but that is my fault for not paying attention. My algae eaters, Minotaur loaches, and plecostomus LOVE these.
