Hikari - Betta Bio-Gold - 2.5g

At first, I bought these because one of my fishes was having poor appetite due to stress from moving and didn't eat for 3 days straight. Not to mention, she was sort of choking on those aqueon pellets and would spit little bits out. When my betta fish finally acclimated to the new home, she began to eat again and gobbles these pebbles up crazy fast. While she can now swallow the larger sized aqueon pellets now, I feel that the smaller pellets are easier for her to digest and better for her GI system since they don't make her feel as bloated. I have to feed more than the usual amount because my fish is an adult. Her usual diet now consist of 3 aqueon pellets in the morning and 6 hikari micropellets at night along with some blood worms 1x per week

This is the one pellet that I use for my betta fish. I discovered the brand about 3 fish back. I've had bettas for well over 10 years and I'm fortunate to have them live a good two to three years for me. Well that little guy was indeed little. He tried eating the other brands but he had a small mouth and always spit it out after 3 days of that I knew a new food was needed or my new friend would starve. I like this fish food for my Betta fish. I have two of them. The pellets are small and that makes it perfect food for smaller bettas. When I first brought my fish home a year ago he was too small to eat a different brand of betta food pellet. I like the small amount in the packaging I feel like my fish are getting fresher food because it a smaller amount. The packaging makes it easy to measure the amount of food you feed your fish but it’s constantly exposed to air.

All of Hikari's fish food is amazing

All of my fish eat Hikari algae wafers or pellets now. One of my bettas died sadly by overeating. pellets since they were too big and just inflated even after a good soaking and he was just too compacted and caught dropsy. However, Hikari's betta food was a saving grace for me.I have the omega betta food pellets, and the new life spectrum sinking pellets for my bettas. I found that the omega betta food pellets aren't as good as the new life spectrum ones, however, the new life spectrum pellets are just way too big, and there is just too much protein in them for my fish. Both leave my fish impacted and fat since it doesn't seem like they stop taking in water.This is a bit worrisome since it's a step towards organ failure. However, I luckily happened to stumble across this saving grace. I got a sample of this fish food with a tank I bought, and the pellets were so teeny tiny, but the perfect size for my bettas. I just need three pellets for each of my fish, soak them for 5-10 minutes, and feed them.Pros:-Good size for bettas-Made specifically for betta's needs-One of the best brands to consider food wise.Cons:-If you have a picky fish who like sinking pellets, you need to soak them for a good 8-10 minutes till they're heavy enough to sink, or starve your fish.-Nothing else really, it's a really good product.

Best floating pellet for bettas of all ages

This truly floating pellet, although labeled "baby", is actually the best food I have found for my adult bettas. I've had 4 of them, and none have ever been proficient at catching food that is sinking or that has fallen to the bottom - so semi-floating pellets don't work. These are perfectly bite sized for an adult betta, and it's very easy to avoid overfeeding because you can just give a few at a time, which eliminates the risk of excess food polluting the water.My only caveat is that the quality of ingredients is not as high as some other foods... But what good is a high quality food if my fish can't catch it and it just decays at the bottom of the tank? Great Quality Betta Food! Betta go crazy for them!

Great quality food for such a low wonderful price, compared to other retailers like Petco or PetSmart! Highly recommend for bettas! I feed these to all my bettas and they LOVE IT! And pellets are always soooo much cleaner than using flakes! I like how the packaging is designed to help measure the right amount of pellets to dispense! And if you follow the instructions on the packaging, it can become a nice stand too by folding the top down!! Overall, Hikari is a great quality brand! I can always rely on their brand for great quality food!

He ate these small, floating pellets immediately.

This is the number one brand for a reason. They float a long time (I made sure the package said floating), are smaller than many other pellets (easier to eat and swallow) and have a decent level of protein, 38%, with the first ingredient being fish meal (bettas are carnivores), all at a great price. There are fancier (and more expensive) brands but my new betta readily ate his first meal of these the very first night I got him. I will supplement these with freeze dried bloodworms later as treats but these will be my day-to-day pellets for sure.

Lovely & Overall Beneficial Pellets

I have a split-tank with two bettas in their prime. They're lovely little creatures and quite lively at that. We wanted a good, actually nutritious food (unlike many others in the market) and this has fit the bill. We noticed they became much more active after just a few days, and I believe they are becoming more vivid in color.The only downside is the packaging. However, this shouldn't be a deal-breaker, because by placing them in a small container it is much easier to pour out. Meh

The pellets may be OK. They are at least smaller than many others, but about half of them sink right to the bottom. Also, the packaging is horrible! I had to cut it into pieces and pour it into another container to be able to access them. For the price, you really don't get very much product either.

hard to swallow & caused bloating

I fed these to my betta the first week that I got her & she had problems chewing & swallowing them even though I presoaked them & gave them to her one at a time. It also caused bloating which was very concerning. I got these pellets because of the glowing reviews. I immediately switched to a different food & the bloating went away within a day. My betta also had no problems chewing the new presoaked granule which were quite a bit smaller at 1.5 mm and easily swallowed them. I have a young female betta so she's kind of small at 1.5" long. Maybe the pellets were just too big for her. Also the new granule has a lot less fillers than the biogold pellets. Don't know if this was the problem but just putting it out there.
