It's so odd to me, seeing so many 5 star reviews on this canned kitten food. I foster neonatal kittens, and have never had good luck with this food. My adult cats and my Am Staff, who typically go to extreme, sneaky lengths to steal foster kitten foods, won't even touch this. I'm assuming it's a cheaper canned kitten food, because it's donated to our Humane Society a lot. It's one that they typically give out to fosters when they are low on donations. Everyone knows that the kittens don't eat it well. I can get about half of my fosters, at most, to eat it if I mix it with warm kitten formula. Plain, they will rarely eat it. The adults cats in my home and my garbage disposal of a dog don't even want anything to do with it. That really makes me wonder about quality. I have four cats (because I’m that kind of spinster, lol), and it’s not really viable for me to buy wet food at the scale they’d consume it. Hill’s Science Diet came recommended by my vet, and all four of my cats eat the adult dry food happily—I started out with the kitten dry food last year because two of mine were still kittens then, and they’ve graduated to the adult dry food with no transitional hiccups. This food keeps them all satisfied and has caused no issues, digestive or otherwise, that I’ve noticed.

The food comes in small pellets, sometimes triangular but more recently round in what I think is an improved version. I am confident in and trust this product and the cat likes it. It has received high reviews from impartial and capable professional reviewers. I have relied upon several detailed reviews in addition to my own experience with the product.The product is not the most inexpensive, but it is worth it. It is not as easy to find as supermarket brands but is reasonably accessible.All told, an excellent dry food for an indoor cat. I am happy with it, the cat is happy with it, and I enjoyed learning about it.

Hills Science Diet makes far superior diet for any species you you would consider feeding their foods . Their cat foods are no exception. Their specialty diets and regular diets are prepared with dietary needs the highest concern. Each in made with veterinary I put as well I doubt very seriously you would find a good that is higher quality or better made. They make cat/feline, dog/canine, Bird/parrots, monkey/primate, rabbit/bunny, several other feeds items. You love you pets, feed them the best you can. Do your homework.

This food has all the essentials necessary for the longevity and health of an indoor cat. I had no reservations about this product and Hills Science Diet is of the upmost standards when it comes to a vet recommended pet food. Our little kitty is very happy with the taste, smell & nutrition provided by this food. My only small dislike of this product is that the size of each individual piece is quite large for cats. She doesn’t have a problem eating it, but if your cat does not like larger sized pieces then you may not like this exact food. I am glad to see that I have choices when it comes to size of product - bag wise. I buy the smaller bag for my ever hungry cat (so he thinks) as I can give him a fresh product and not worry about his nutrition. In addition, the store personnel in this store are VERY helpful. No need for any fancy, designer label cat foods. Hill's has been doing it right for a long time. Our cat likes the flavor, and our kitty litter stays fresh between changes. For a happy, healthy, long life cat use Hill's Science Diet.
My kitten turned one this month so it was time to switch to adult food for him. He was already eating the Science diet for kittens so I figured the switch to adult food would go easy. It didn’t even dawn on me that my cat might be picky at first. Thankfully after a week of transitioning he seems to be happy and enjoying this new product (phew).
We bought this as our 20+ yr Vet we been going to (they had took care of our now 5 kitties & 2 puppies & they had recommended SD prescription for 2 others we could only get from them & 2 other kitties we were able to get from pet store) & our Vet had explained to us how to transition over from kitten food to adult food even if same brand/flavor. Thanks to SD & our Vet they saved our 2 babies & let them live with us longer (4+ yrs but then stupid Cancer took them just like that not the other diseases). So we trust SD & our Vet (we had same Vet for well over 20 yrs). Yes he is spoiled rotten just like his other 4 sisters & brother from other mothers/fathers were before him as they are were/are family!! So we been a happy SD family for at least 13 yrs (different types of course) since our 1st baby girl (Boots)was diagnosed with kidney/liver disease & was put on the prescription for it & helped her live 4+ yrs till Cancer took her (RIP 16 Dec 2011) (same with our 3rd baby girl (Jersey Belle JB) but she had a bladder problem & lived longer with it cause of SD but Cancer took her (RIP 24 Sep 2020) but 1st boy baby (Max gave to a wheelchair bound young boy when he was like 3 yrs old as boy wanted a black kitty that was trained & we had Boots) & 4th baby girl (Diamond Jo DJ) RIP 18 Feb 2020 & now CJ were/are not on prescription SD & can buy at pet stores not just at Vet's!! All their fur was smooth & shiny/no hair balls!!

After losing an awesome siamese cat at only 6 years of age to digestive problems, I decided to try science diet with my new rescue siamese kitten. I noticed a difference immediately - only firm stools with hardly any odors. When I asked my vet about it, he explained that the science diet is digested so effectively that it produces minimal waste. This cat is 5 years old and has only eaten dry kitten and after 1 year indoor science diet. I do not give her any wet catfood or table scraps. Just 1/4 cup twice a day. She has no hairballs, no bad breath, and no tummy troubles.
