I thought this being Lamb I was good but apparently there is chicken in this. My dogs itch so bad when they have chicken so I avoid it. We switched to this and thinking I was good but I wasnāt. Poor thing was ripping her hair out. Now I know I have to look at the ingredients very closely. Wish it advertised on the front that it still includes it. Learned my lesson though. Normally my youngest never leaves until she finishes every last bite but this food she would keep walking away and stop eating it. No interest which is not like her at all!

I've been feeding our three dogs this brand since they were pups. They are about 18 months old now - all the same age. They have never tuned it down. It appears to provide plenty of the things that the dogs need and according to the vet are very healthy. I sometimes supplement the dry food with a mixture of boiled chicken and vegetables, but I think they would eat it without the extra. The only reason I gave it four stars is simply because of the price. I know inflation has caused almost everything to go up but it seems that pet food has made a huge jump in price in the last year or so. Of course I will continue to buy this brand because the dogs like it and I think it is a good product and I'll pay the extra price.

Our Chocolate Lab loves this food and she has the most beautiful coat from it! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to Petco services... Shop online and pick up savings is normally what I do given these dog food bags are pretty costly, especially with supply chain issues increasing the cost lately. With that said, of all of the Hill's dry dog food, I find it very interesting that this ONE bag was not part of that savings offering anymore. Very disappointing and seems a bit suspect to me, especially with my Petco account having the historic information that I've purchased this specific flavor of dry dog food several times before.

This food has significantly helped our Great Dane maintain a healthy weight. Other comparable foods we have tried have either left him underweight or overweight. Not only that, but we were having to feed him upwards of 9 cups a day to not see his ribs. With Great Danes it is important to keep their weight and nutrition in line as they are very susceptible to hip and joint issues. While Science Diet is more expensive than the comparable brands, we only have to feed our very large Dane 6 cups a day, so it equals out the overall cost increase. This food must be absorbed and processed better by his body. He is a large, extremely active, and healthy 170lb Dane! Very happy with this brand!

This excellent product was recommended to me by my Best Friend, who happens to be a Vet!My Pit Bull and mini Sheppard love the food, and both are very healthy w luxurious coats. Never any stomach issues, very energetic and leading wonderful lives! I recommend Hills Science diet to any dog loving Owner!Also the service at Tractor Supply Store is second to none, seriously! Our store in Berlin Md staff is as good as any staff anywhere, i have had excellent interactions w numerous employees and most recently Jocelyn helped me find proper spark plug for my Lawnmower for a good 20 mins and her attitude was all about helping me! My Golden Retriever dog has a very sensitive stomach and can't tolerate chicken. We had him on a VERY expensive prescription food; Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein. It worked well, but unless I added toppers, he wasn't enthusiastic about eating.I asked my Vet about an alternate protein to chicken, and she suggested a grain inclusive lamb based formula. I liked the ingredients in the Hills Large Breed Lamb & Brown Rice and the reviews. I've been slowly adding this food to my dogs diet, mixed just with some warm water, no toppers. It makes a gravy of sorts.My dog inhales the food. He's 7 years old and has never done this. I'm assuming he likes the flavor and his stools are perfectly formed.
My Australian Sheppard recently had her first birthday and I consulted with my vet if it was time to move her to adult food. They said yes, it was time and recommended a nutritionally balanced food and highly recommended Hill's Science. I've had good results in the past with lamb and rice blends, so I decided to give her a try on it. SHE LOVES IT. One of the great benefits of a lamb and rice blend is that her waste is smaller and more dense than with other blends. At least in my experience, this is the case. Anyway, I am extremely pleased with my choice and highly recommend giving this a try if you're looking for change for your pet.

So I have rotated this food with his previous food over the last week and he ate like usual. This morning was the first day of just this food without his other food mixed in and he literally sniffed the food and walked away. Same thing this evening. He has never missed a meal in his life, and has skipped two meals today. He would rather starve than eat it? So I gave him some wet food from the cabinet and he gobbled it up in two bites, like he was starving. The bowl of dry food still sitting there right next to him, absolutely no interest. My mixed breed rescue pup (pit bull/Labrador retriever) had what seemed like an aversion to chicken flavored food. I tried different āenhancementsā to get him to eat and that didnāt always work. I decided to switch to a different protein and landed on trying lamb. He LOVES this flavor of Science Diet. He is now eating healthy amounts and not picking at it like he did the chicken.
