Hill's Science Diet Dry Dog Food Puppy Small Bites 2kg

My dogs love this and its the perfect size for my littles. I have a multipet household. So quality pet food is a must. I love the first ingredient is Chicken. I also love that there are no artificial preservatives, no synthetic colors, and no artificial flavors. My Vet even recommended it. It's an okay food. I bought it because it is really tiny bites which is perfect for my 4lb chihuahua. I was looking for something with high protien without alot of fillers, this has more than I thought. It's alright and will continue using it until I find a better replacement food. Any suggestions would be appreciated. He has skin problems so I supplement food with fish oil, with contaminated removed of coarse, that's something to watch for. My dog really likes the flavor of this food, he gobbles it down.

My little senior dog loves this dog food, the delicious chicken flavor is packed into a tiny kibble for small dogs that prefer variety and easily digestible ingredients help support their energy levels. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a dog food made with natural ingredients containing minerals for immune system support as well as heart and kidney health. The only food I will feed my puppy. My Vet recommended this food to me a couple years ago. It doesn’t have all the garbage in it that other dog foods have. And with several formulas to choose from, you can always find the perfect food for your fur baby. My dogs love it!

Great food and puppy loves it.

Our rescue puppy loves this food. He was quite little when we adopted him and we weren’t sure what he had been eating. We wanted him to get the best nutrition and had good luck with Science Diet for our other dogs. He gained 11 lbs in 4 weeks and is a very happy healthy puppy! Our vet said he’s doing great and the food is definitely a plus. We are switching him to regular size Science Diet puppy kibble as he’s now almost 22 lbs. We highly recommend.

Great puppy food

I usually feed my puppies expensive RC brand but they are running so low on stock across the US it’s hard to get it. I remember another breeder feeds Hills Science Diet Puppy & how small the kibble pieces are & decided to do but online & curbside pick up. Mixed this bag with a small amount of the RC I had left over & the puppies loved it, absolutely no tummy upsets, normal everything! It’s a great value for the price & amount, especially when the pups love to eat it!

Kibble that makes us happy

We bought this new food for our 9 week old puppy. Our vet recommended this brand and we love it! The kibble size is small enough that our new mini Aussie doesn't accidentally choke on one, which happened with our last kibble. We can use them for training as treats and he loves them. The ingredients list is made of hearty proteins and grains that our little pup needs as he's growing. They fit perfectly in the puppy sized Kong too! It has a Velcro resealing top so it's very easy to get in and grab some food; but also so much easier to close then the traditional resealing bags.

Not the best ingredients, but not a terrible food.

Let me start by saying that I wanted a top quality puppy food for our micro-sized Chihuahua. I went with a raw-boost dry food and the poor little thing had runny stools for 2 weeks straight. Our vet told us it was simply "too rich" a food for small dogs. I'm not thrilled that this Hill's Science Diet Puppy formula has some questionable things listed as the first 5 ingredients: (Chicken Meal, Whole Grain Wheat, Cracked Pearled Barley, Whole Grain Sorghum* a grain*, Whole Grain Corn,...) It's a pretty grain heavy food and not what I'd call top quality. All that being said, my 1lb Chihuahua did very well on this food. She has normal bowl movements, eats it without issue, and has gained weight steadily while on it (from 1lb to 3lbs in approx 6 months). She's perky & energetic as well.She's a shelter rescue pup, and due to poor genetics due to overbreeding, she will remain very tiny, not likely exceeding 3.5 lbs total). The fact is, she's done very well on this food. Yeah, the protein level is lacking in this food, but an ultra high protein food would be rough on her tiny little liver. It seems that this puppy formula relies almost exclusively on carbohydrates as it's energy source. It's been good for her thus far; but I plan to look for a slightly more balanced adult food for her once she is about 11 months old. Long term, High carb foods are really not ideal for any dogs teeth, or weight, or overall health.

Shiba Inu Puppy

My puppy has been on Hills Science Diet Puppy Small Bites Chicken and Barley since he was just 10 weeks old. I liked that it was small bites that he could manage. I switched him over to the Hills Science Diet Small Bites gradually. He was on Pedigree Puppy, that had to be softened. My vets advised me to only give him kibble and not the wet foods. We have had no issues with puppy poop on this brand. He poops twice a day and only very rarely has poop accidents. I had a Shiba Inu before, and prefer this brand because this breed tends to get allergies. My older Shiba Inu also did well on Hills Science.

Unimpressive quality

The small bite sized pieces are perfect for a small pup to chow down. Unfortunately, I was rather unimpressed with the quality of the "premium" biscuits themselves, as they appeared flakey/grainy and lacked the oiliness of better quality food. My pup did not like the flavour and prefers our better quality Blackhawk biscuits.
