It's so odd to me, seeing so many 5 star reviews on this canned kitten food. I foster neonatal kittens, and have never had good luck with this food. My adult cats and my Am Staff, who typically go to extreme, sneaky lengths to steal foster kitten foods, won't even touch this. I'm assuming it's a cheaper canned kitten food, because it's donated to our Humane Society a lot. It's one that they typically give out to fosters when they are low on donations. Everyone knows that the kittens don't eat it well. I can get about half of my fosters, at most, to eat it if I mix it with warm kitten formula. Plain, they will rarely eat it. Hills Science Diet makes far superior diet for any species you you would consider feeding their foods . Their cat foods are no exception. Their specialty diets and regular diets are prepared with dietary needs the highest concern. Each in made with veterinary I put as well I doubt very seriously you would find a good that is higher quality or better made. They make cat/feline, dog/canine, Bird/parrots, monkey/primate, rabbit/bunny, several other feeds items. You love you pets, feed them the best you can. Do your homework.

Its completely grain free and has natural ingredients such as real meat and vegetables. So I prepared a mixture of 25% new food and 75% of their old food. My little girl Hurricane was displeased immediately, she strongly dislikes any form of change...even if you move your shoes in a different spot she gets upset. Now my boy Blizzard just dived right in. After a day Hurricane gave it a shot and she ended up loving it. Now I'm stuck with a very large bag of their normal Science Diet Indoor cat food because my cats refuse to eat anything else besides the Ideal Balance. MY CATS DON'T EVEN WANT KITTY TREATS ANYMORE! I'm serious I used to be able to make Blizzard run for his treats, now he just sniffs them and walks away. And he is the chow hound who really likes to eat, sometimes I swear he is a dog! They actually now meow non stop for their food when it's dinner time ( I do timed feed with these two) I now feed them only this and I have noticed and incredible increase in their energy they run and whip around this house like the two storms they are playing and jumping and climbing like they are little kittens again. I even noticed and improvement in their coats. Much softer and shinier and even shedding season was less painful this year.

They swore that this Science Diet GARBAGE was, "The Best Cat Food Out There For Any Animal With Blockage Or Health Issues!" WRONG! I religiously gave my baby this GARBAGE for two months until he re-blocked. However, this time he lost his life.3 months later his brother ended up blocking late at night so I took him to an emergency clinic where the Vet their was so amazing an knowledgeable. I was mortified! She then turned me to Royal Canine Urinary SO to this day my baby is still happy health. I have even switched ALL of my other cats to the Royal Canine brand.Its just sad that my loving baby had to lose his life over greed and a horrible cat food.(When confronted my vet, they even agreed the Royal Canine is the better brand but the Science Diet is the one they recommend the most and at the chance it don't work they recommend another brand!!!! Really!?) If your anything like myself and a cat lover, you don't want to mess around with your babies lives.

4 Cats Love this

I have 4 cats all with different issues: IBD, Gerd, Dehydration & one that is just stubborn. I took a chance and ordered a case "hoping" it was something all 4 of my would eat. If not, I would just donate it to the rescue group. However, I hit the lottery with this one! All 4 cats love this food, no diarrhea, no throwing up, no snubbing his nose. Plus it has lots of moisture - good for my one cat that isn't much of a water drinker. A real winner for me after having spent a couple of years trying many different kinds that would satisfy all 4 cats plus me!

Good quality pate'-like texture cat food.

My cat likes but does not love this cat food. He doesn't care for pate' type which I find this texture to be close to even though can said "entree"and pic shows with texture, so a bit disappointing. I know quality is good tho so will alternate with other food to use the case of 24 up. Excellent if you like pate'!

Our small European shorthair like it

I was looking for a good quality food to switch to from what our cats used to eat in Europe. Have known Hills for a while, we tried their science plan dry food before.This big can is enough for 1 wet food meal out of two per day for our three cats (again, they are small, 24lb all together:), combined now with Purina indoor cat dry food.They like to dig in immediately, and leave some of the food a bit for later (vet told me thats normal cat behavior). Unlike some foods we ruled out before, this does not upset their stomach at all. The leftover dries a bit after a while, but cats like to come even after an hour to finish it. Overall, great value and I do not worry about their health with the Hills quality.

Soft pate

Cat immediately love this pate. Soft mousse texture, but moisture seems lesser than Hill's light liver & chicken flavor. Ordered 2 sets but received 18 cans with dents. Petflow fixed the issue right away, very good service.

Two Strikes

First off, my cat HATES the chicken pate. She would rather starve than take even one bite. So the one star is her rating.Second (and it was my mistake to order a 40 lb bag of kitty litter at the same time), a good one third of the cans were dented and some were opened, due probably to banging around with the litter in transit. Chewy: You should know better than to pack these things in one carton!Anyway, the local food shelf will accept cat food, so hopefully the remaining 15 cans will make some cat who is less picky than my little diva very happy.

Wish 2.9oz size would come back

I did an extensive taste test when I transitioned my 2 kittens to adult food and they far and away preferred the Hills pates. However, I measure their portions and the 5oz is simply too much so i refrigerate the unused portion but I dislike feeding them cold leftovers. The 2.9oz can is perfect for us (they get kibble in the morning). I was told by the company that it was temporary but I really hope production begins again of the smaller cans.
