The clothesline arrived a couple of weeks ago and I did need help with putting the clothesline together especially the first couple of steps but after that it was smooth sailing. A little hint, there are a couple of Reviews online that have wonderful instrustions.I am a 70yo female Aged Pensioner with no Super and am paying off a mortgage, it has taken a couple of years to save for the clothesline.Thank you so much as I have a couple severe medical conditions which make it hard to hang the clothes. It has been hard going outside and using the old clothesline which has rusted and leaves marks on the clothing.Thamls once again for this beautiful clothesline

Good strong clothesline but I received my clothesline with a nasty scratch on the paintwork, which was very disappointing. The quality check obviously missed the scratch on the main piece across the length of the clothesline. This piece was also covered in a dirty substance of some sort? The other side of this piece of frame wasn't as bad. Putting the frame together was quite an ordeal and not as quick as conveyed on the website. The instructions need to be updated so they are clearer to follow. I'm a little dissapointed about my item being scratched as I like things to look good and last a long time when looked after. I will now have to purchase some grey paint to cover up the scratch!

Buying this was the best renovation I ever did. Now we use only this little beauty. We can easily move it under cover if it rains. It holds 2 or more full full washing loads, and can fit QS sheets. No reaching up so its good for those with shoulder problems.It hasn’t blown over in the 6 months we have been using it.We permanently decommissioned the old inaccessible permanent line that kept whacking my head on.Assembly was easy, but the small clip-on line covers don’t stay on, so I cable-tied them on. Thats the only small complaint from me. Otherwise it would be 5 stars.

The product itself is excellent. Be warned, do not construct with spouse or loved one unless you sincerely want a divorce. You will need a drill with Allen key attachment and a first aid kit. Someone is definitely going to bleed. Make sure there are no children within earshot because they're going to learn words they shouldn't know. Hills has delivered a monumental fail on the self-assembly front. I would say I'm an expert level flatpacker. I have assembled two home gyms single-handedly - including once with a broken arm in a cast. THIS beast is the worst I've ever seen. Every single element has been designed to test your patience and ingenuity. It is not remotely user-friendly to put together and the instructions are helpful only AFTER you figure out what to do ... MoreThe product itself is excellent. You're never folding that thing. It owns your lounge room now. Also, you may need stitches and somebody may have a black eye and/or lots of hurt feelings. Consider it a personal growth opportunity.
The clothesline assembly went mostly ok, but one of the screws became threaded as it was very difficult to line up with the plastic widget it had to go into. The screw was damaged, and I had to source a new compatible screw, which was a hassle.Once up, the clothesline works just fine, as expected.Product took over a month to be delivered, and I had to contact supplier several times asking where it was. If you are in a hurry this might not work for you.
Doing washing is so much easier. No more teaching up with a sore shoulder to hand sheets. No more hanging washing down the dreary side of my house, I more cobwebs on my line. I can walk outside into my beautiful garden and hang washing. Only thing I would have struggled with is esembling it, but I jumped on the website, watched the YouTube video and it was super easy then. Fits my 4 king towels and queen size sheets in one go! The stainless steel pegs I bought at the same time are amazing.
Very hard to assemble, the componentry was stiff to release the legs, required to assemble, catches remain stiff and unworkable to put the line up or collapse for storage. I am fit, strong & healthy but I have to get my son has to do this for me. Storage bracket works very well, once line collapsed it hangs away nicely as is light. I have put the bracket over a rafter in the crashed. I would've rated higher but cannot operate the line by myself and I am usually independent strong and fit. Be ok if you had an area that was protected form high wind that you could leave it up all the time. Has a good warranty period so that would indicate it is built for purpose
I’ve been loving my new clothes line. I held off for a long time buying a new one, my old one was broken but my husband was convinced it was great (even though he never used it haha). I took the plunge and ordered it.Now my clothes are spaced out and able to dry, we use large towels and they don’t touch the ground or bunch up, they dry super fast. I also love that there are hooks for hangers, I can hang my shirts and they stay secured and don’t fall off.I use my clothes dryer every day and I actually enjoy using it.
So far the Hills Portable 170 Folding Clothesline has been great. I bought it to replace a portable clothesline that repeatedly blew over in the wind. The Hills Portable 170 Folding Clothesline is standing strong and sturdy in the wind, the lines are easy to reach to hang washing on and I can move it into the sun or under shelter if it rains. I found the written installation instructions difficult to follow but the installation video emailed to me was excellent and by watching that a couple of times and pausing it at each step I was able to get the lines threaded successfully, so thank you for the installation video. Overall I am very happy with my new portable clothesline.
Reading the manual is fine up to checking that all the parts are there. But the assembly video is essential, since even the unboxing should be watched before attempting. The instructions, video and audio are very good, and worth watching in full before starting. Make sure to have considerable space in the location of intended use, because its footprint is quite large, and must be assembled with legs before it can be placed upright.
