I am a veterinarian, with a strong interest in nutrition- so when I choose food for my two kitties, I tend to be a bit picky. I have tried many types of food, and I keep coming back to Science Diet Adult Light Hairball Control. They are both slightly overweight, and one has issues with hairballs- and this food helps them to maintain a healthy weight as well as reduces the number/frequency of hairballs. I have noticed a huge difference in the health of their coats (much shinier, less shedding) when they are on this food. That being said, the vet in me notes that not every cat does well on the same food, so make sure to find the food that agrees with them the most (talk to your vet if you need advice!). If you are not a fan of feeding corn products, then this isn't ... MoreI am a veterinarian, with a strong interest in nutrition- so when I choose food for my two kitties, I tend to be a bit picky. If you are not a fan of feeding corn products, then this isn't the cat food for you. Myself, I have no problem with it (corn can be very nutritious, and neither of my kitties have an alergy or other issue with corn). The price on Amazon is one of the lowest I've seen- my only concern ordering it was that it may sit in a hot delivery truck, but so far the bag has lasted and the food does not seem spoiled.

This food is expensive, but it's saved us in anxiety and vet bills. When we first adopted our Maine Coon we didn't experience hairballs for awhile. Then she randomly started to unsuccessfully try to bring them up for almost 2 weeks (which when you Google you end up thinking your 6 month old cat has asthma!) After she finally produced her first large hairball, we decided to introduce this food. She LOVES it. We've since started mixing it with another hairball dry food because this one has grain and we think she is sensitive to it, but when we put down wet food in the morning, she walks away and rubs her head against the Science Diet food bag. That's a pretty ringing endorsement, if I say so.

This is my cat’s regular food and they devour their entire bowl at every meal. I have 3 cats and 1 of them is a long haired. This food helps cut down on his frequency of hairballs and generally pass through his stool instead.

I absolutely love Hill's Science Diet - it's one of the best cat food brands I've ever tried for my cat! My cat used to have a serious hairball issue, but after a few months on this cat food I haven't seen any at all, which is a huge improvement. If your cat has trouble with hairballs, I would highly recommend trying out this food. It's gentle on my cats digestive system, and it really helped are hairy little problem. Definitely worth trying out!
My purchase experience was fine for the product delivered, however this was for a recommended product close to our cats usual. The problem is that cats are fussy and with the preferred type out of stock all over Australia we had little choice. We now have a 99% full bag of "hairball control" dry food that our fussy felines refuse to indulge in.
Pet Circle offer the best prices, best service and best delivery time frames!!! I often suggest to people buying kitty litter in the supermarket to check out Pet Circle!!!!! Wouldn't shop anywhere else!!!
4 years ago we bought our first bag of science diet furball control and our cats now refuse to eat anything else! They’re addicted! They will pick out any other type, even other science diet types! The fur ball control helps them get rid of their fur balls quickly. Which is helpful since our girls are quite fluffy. as long as they love we will happily buy it for them.
My older indoor cats love it, I mix it with Hills Urinary prescription food and it made a huge difference in how many hairballs they have. Few and far between after introducing this into their dry mix.
These are very effective for near elimination of hairballs. I wish I'd discovered these years ago. Would have saved me & my cat a lot of grief
After having this recommended about 13 years ago when my long hair Ginger boy had his stomach shut down due to fur ingestion, I have used it continuously since with all my cats! Almost no upchucking of hairballs and no gut problems!! Highly recommended.
