Having researched a number of brands at like for like specifications I settled on the 43A7H. As this purchase is for the kitchen, sound quality wasn't a key issue. What is, is picture quality, and picture in the EPG. A number of manufacturers at this price point don't provide this feature so cudos to hisense on this. The picture quality is quite remarkable considering it is only fed by aerial. However, being described as having a Freeview HD tuner, on channel installation NO HD specific channel installed raising a question hence only 4 stars. Awaiting a response from hisense customer services regarding this. Like the way the tv has a bang and olufsenesques turn off motion!

I bought this TV a few months ago as well as a Klipsch soundbar. I was told by the salesman that this is a great combo for the price, and you can’t go past the Hisense TVs for warranty, picture quality and bang for buck. What he neglected to tell me is that there is a software issue with the Hisense TVs where the ARC consistently disconnects. Meaning the sound bar/Xbox/any external device hooked up through the HDMI (ARC) will randomly and consistently disconnect itself and then reconnect itself. I’ve tried everything possible, including getting a professional in to try and figure it out, and nothing can be done. Further investigation showed me that I’m not the only one having these issues with Hisense. The standard out is the QLED image quality, when viewing 4K Dolby Vision and HDR material which shows incredible detail. It competes with more expensive TVs. The trade off is quite a narrow viewing angle and very tinny speakers, to the point they are almost unbearable. (had to buy a sound bar, which cost more than the TV). However the image quality more than offsets this. eARC HDMI, Dolby Atmos sound are also great to have. The upscaling to 4k is also very good on 1080p material. I bought this TV knowing very well that it is a relatively small TV. The picture is excellent but the sound is as would be expected from small speakers. So I bought Samsung Q600B sound bar to increase the sound. And that’s when the problems began. The TV works with the soundbar until you turn it off. Then, it will refuse to pass sound through the soundbar via the eARC connection. I thought it was a soundbar issue and spent about an hour with Samsung who updated my soundbar software, tried various settings and options, and finally they gave up. They advised me to check with Hisense about what could be wrong. I couldn’t lug the TV around but I could transport the soundbar. But at least I could close the den door so I wouldn't have to look at it all the time.Just two weeks in and I have to say the den has become one of favourite rooms to hang out in when I'm in the mood for entertainment. The TV, which is pretty easy to set up and navigate, takes up most of the back wall so it's as if I have my own mini home cinema. The sound is good. The picture is crystal clear. The set is heavy enough that it's sturdy (need two to move it, and don't touch the screen). It has a 3-year warranty. Just be aware that films don't always fit the entire screen, so you sometimes have a pretty unnoticeable black border top and bottom (e.g. Netflix). In any case, I now really enjoy my den and friends love coming over to watch movies or listen to music videos while playing games with me after dinner. Who'd have thunk it. I would definitely recommend this TV. And I can still close the door so it's not the central focus of the kitchen, living, and dining area. Yay.
Had the tv replaced because we had trouble with the screen flashing, lines on the bottom of the tv and the picture pulsing, Bright and dark. Hard to explain to the store as problems never happen when you want them to. Reset the tv over the phone. Still happened. Had it checked by stores accredited repairer, found nothing, replaced main board. Still had issues. Store replaced the unit, had to pay more as they did not have that model. Could have a smaller one but decided to ay more to upgrade. New one starting to have issues. Cannot pair the sound bar that we purchased at the same time and was told that this was the one for the TV. Steer clear of Hisence.
ought this a few days ago and only now have got to set it up. Online manual is no where to be found. I wear hearing aids and have a "media streamer" that sends audio from our TV to my hearing aids. Connection is via optical or RCA connectors. If I want to listen via my hearing aids, I have to have SPDIF (i.e optical output) enabled. When I do this, ALL other outputs are disabled. If the family want to listen to the TV via the speakers, SPDIF is disabled. It appears as though I can only have 1 audio output enabled. I'd love to talk to the idiot who thought this feature would be a good idea since I could stream via the optical output on our 15 year old non-smart TV whilst the rest of the family used the TV's inbuilt speakers. It took me all of 5 minutes to unpack and set-up all the cables which are very easy to install. The picture quality is truly amazing with intense crisp depth and quality. Everything looks like it's happening in real life. The graphics whilst playing my X-Box is out of this world. The sound quality, in my opinion, is better than going to the cinema's. I don't even need a sound bar like I had on my old TV. Then there is the pre-installed streaming apps (you can install more if you wanted too aswell) already available to start watching your favourite shows. Bought this TV partially due to the glowing reviews I’ve seen compared to the negative reviews I saw on a TCL QLED. I can see why casual watchers may enjoy this TV, but as someone who cares about picture quality when watching films, this TV really is not very good. When film bars are on screen, the horrible contrast shows and the unbearably grey bars (even in a pitch black room) distract from a generally okay picture quality. Dolby Vision HDR doesn’t help muxh either. I know I wasn’t getting OLED quality black levels, but I wish I had gotten a QLED or Crystal UHD TV instead of this one. The Hisense VIDAA interface is also not desirable compared to Google’s UI, so I’d recommend a Chromecast with Google TV, especially if you want to watch the Apple TV+ app.
