First off. I love the helmet. One of the quieter modulars out there and a great fit. Unfortunately the helmet fell off of my handlebars and the chin bar mechanism (internals)
broke. The left side popped out while riding on the interstate... When I went to put it back down it flipped into my field of view. I had to pulled off and rig the helmet to get
home. I can't find replacement parts to save my life. My fault for dropping the helmet but it should have survived the whole 2ft drop.

Usual high quality from HJC. A larger fit, and very comfortable during a day of riding. Pinlock is sweet, and the rotating chin bar works cleanly. Vision doesn't feel restricted
compared to my F70. Loving it!

I previously had the SHARK modular helmet and while its price point was $130 higher, it felt like a better helmet, its movement, vents and sunshade operation were all easier.
The top vent is very sticky and takes considerable force to open with a gloved hand while riding, and the sunshade is a thumb operated slide at the jaw instead of overhead
and it too is not as easy to find or easy to adjust. The overall comfort of the helmet is great and I love the way it looks.

Did not live up to expectations

1. Uses double d loop strap. I prefer this as ratchets dig into my Adam's apple.2. Helmet is very creaky3. Sun visor is a very generous size compared to other helmets4. When you go from 3/4 to full face the visor comes down with the chin bar. you can pinch your fingers pretty easily so instead you have to smudge your visor with your fingers to get everything in position.5. the double d loop retention straps have stitching (see picture) that painfully scratches your face every time you take the helmet off. never had this problem with any other helmet before6. when you try to put the visor down with one hand, the visor will not come down flush. the side of the visor that you push down with one hand will come down but the other side won't all the way. ... More1. Helmet comes with pads that cover the speaker pockets. remove this or else your ears will be smashed against the side liner. speaker pockets are big and deep enough for 40mm speakers.8. Chinbar is the rear position is a floppy mess, even with the "locking" red peg on the side of the helmet.9. chin cover is very difficult to install and comes loose anyway when you flip from 3/4 to full as it hits your chin on the way down and pops out.... Good helmet with annoying chin strap
3 September 2023
Fits well after I returned my Large and got an XL replacement. The modular feature is nice but for some reason, it tends to direct air right into my eyes if I'm going at or above 45 mph. Might just be the shape of my jacket or head. It has cutouts for bluetooth speakers which is nice. My only complaint is the chin strap. It is very annoying to fasten when you're wearing gloves. My old $100 helmet had a much better chin strap by a long shot. Otherwise, it's a good helmet... Show more

Helmet fit
29 March 2024
It is too tight in the cheeks and lower jaw. I don't know if the pads are too thick or if it is the way the helmet was made. The top part of the helmet fits good. Also having issues with the clear visor fogging even with the vents open.Thinking about returning it if I can't get the helmet to fit. This is my 5th HJC helmet and the 1st one that I have had issues with.... Show more

HJC i100 - Beis

noisy compared to my ls2, but fits well and the fold over chin section makes riding far more pleasurable. The noise seems to be from the chin hinges and is a bit like having the window on the car open a crack. Also a cold draft on the top of the head even with the vent closed. but over all light weight and ok for 50 mile trips... Show more

It's perfect... for some people
31 December 2023
First--I'm new to the world of motorcycling, and this was my first helmet. I think it looks like there's a planet on my shoulders where a head should be because of how large it is, but maybe that's because I'm just not used to other helmets. So, why is it four out of five stars? Well, I got it in June and the gear that moves the visor and chin up and back broke... in December. I would have liked a more robust mechanism so that it didn't break, but to be perfectly honest it's a super unique and cool idea to be able to open a helmet up like that. If HJC had made the mechanism out of metal and not plastic, I'm sure it wouldn't have broken (but maybe it wouldn't be a good idea to stick a bunch of oddly shaped metal pieces right next to your ear in case of an accident? ... MoreFirst--I'm new to the world of motorcycling, and this was my first helmet. I'm not an engineer, HJC probably knows better.)In the summer it's incredibly comfortable to be able to open up the helmet while riding around town, but to still have a chin bar in winter when you don't want to freeze your face off. The built in sun shade works well, and other than a small mechanical failure (parts were available online and replacing them was a walk in the park) I'd say it's a great helmet. If you can't decide to have a full or half helmet, this is perfect for you. I LOVE having it both ways, and I guess the cost to that is that this is an expensive helmet and that it needed replacement parts after half a year.... Show more

New helmet.

This is my first time that I have purchased anything from Webb's, and I must say that I'm super impressed, the ease of ordering on line, the choice of product to choose from, and the delivery time was two working days from ordering also the price was excellent.I love the HJC however this is my first flip up helmet for touring in Europe in september. On writing this review I not used the helmet as yet, but I'm very happy with the fit and the quality of the helmet.I will be buying from Webb's again in the future. Thank you at Webbs 👍... Show more

Very nice, versatile helmet.

I am impressed by the quality and attention to detail in this helmet. It can be readily used as a full face or open faced helmet. There are no rattles or similar noises while wearing in full faced, open faced, full faced with the shield open, or open face with the shield open, even when not behind a windshield. The sun shield comes down far enough to actually work. I've had several full faced and open faced helmets over the past 35 years, and each has its application. This helmet works for all of them. It has quickly become my favorite helmet. The helmet does run small so order a size larger than normal. I've owned several HJC helmets, including an old modular, that were all XLs and have a FXR helmet in size L that fits great. I've owned several HJC helmets, including an old modular, that were all XLs and have a FXR helmet in size L that fits great. I needed a XXL in this model to fit right. Although not advertised, there are several sizes of cheek pads available from HJC ranging from 15mm to 35 mm. The Large i100 comes with 25 mm pads, the XL came with 20 mm pads. I needed 15mm pads for the helmet to fit correctly. The cheeks pads are tighter with chin bar locked down. Finally, being a modular, it is a little heavier than other helmets. In my view it is worth it to get the added convenience, safety and flexibility.... Show more
