HJC I70 Helmet Reden MC-5 White Black L

The good: Quiet enough to ditch my earplugs, fairly light, looks pretty good, sun visor seems a lot less chincy than my EXO AT-950.The bad: Not enough airflow for Hawaii traffic. Even with all the vents open I'm sweating, even at highway speeds. I suppose that's the trade-off for a quieter helmet. I had to tape the two small vents on top open because if you look at them wrong they close on their own. The microphone spot in the chin-bar and internal cable routing channels are not large enough to fit anything other than the internal coms the helmet was designed for (which I cannot use for reasons I won't go into). The slide-lever for the sun visor is hard to find with gloves on. Same with the lock for the main shield.

China quality

It fits well. I just don’t feel very secure wearing this helmet, it seems very cheaply made. I don’t think a helmet should be able to flex so easy with very minimal effort The shell is very soft it dents, caves in super easy. I’m unable to retur. It unfortunately so I’m out $231… the shell is china quality that’s forsure. So I’ll just toss it to the trashcan because I’m not gonna give a helmet away that isn’t up to par to ride a motorcycle. I wouldn’t even let a kid wear this on a push scooter. It’d probably do more harm than good. Honestly.. Jan 1 2023…

Decent good helmet for the price. Sunshade awesome

Very good entry level helmet. It’s my first one. The sunshade flip down is awesome. Be gentle with it tho. Wind noise is there. Fogs up quick when it’s cold out. Went for a morning ride and had to ride with open lip at bottom for more air flow. Seems tight when you try it on at home. I had XL but as soon as you ride the bike, the wind pressure seems to settle that. So it’s true to size fitment. XXL felt nice but would be loose over time. I’ll want to try the anti fog thing that goes inside the visor. All and all. I can’t complain for $150 👍

Excellent, quiet helmet.

Over the years I have had many helmets. I had a Shoei GT-Air before this helmet. I liked the GT-Air but the Air II model bumped the price up so I started looking around for alternatives. I ride a lot so comfort and noise dampening are important to me. I always wear earplugs, but even with those unwanted noise can be tiring along with damaging your hearing. The RPHA 70 ST is for me the quietest helmet I have ever owned. It's also comfortable and among the lightest helmet I have ever owned. The internal sun visor works well and is dark enough to be useful (some I have had are to lightly tinted). Fantastic Helmet

I love this helmet. I've tried Arai, and I've tried Shoei. This helmet fits my head perfectly (22.5" head in a MD) and extremely comfortable. It's extremely light, plenty of airflow, the internal visor is nice and clear, the external visor is easy to swap, and the internals are easy to remove. I chose this helmet over a Shoei GT Air 2 and I'm perfectly happy that I did.For me, it is LOUD without earplugs (you should be wearing them regardless). I have a BMW R NineT, no windshield, and a loud exhaust and it will deafen you if you have a similar situation. I always wear earplugs, so noise is never an issue for me. I also think it's expensive just for Carbon AND you're losing the ECE cert from the regular RPHA 70 ST. I don't go to the track so the ECE doesn't bother ... MoreI love this helmet. LOVE this helmet. Upgraded from a HJC CS-R3, and the quality difference is immediately noticeable in every way.Very snug fit but comfortable once you get it on and start riding. I can tell it's going to feel perfect once it's broken in. I wear glasses and like how easily my glasses fit on my previous HJC helmet. The RPHA 70 ST is no different, the glasses fit perfectly.This helmet is amazingly quiet at interstate/highway speeds and rock solid, with no buffeting/shaking. The cheaper CS-R3 was so much louder and did shake a lot at high speeds compared to this.My only complaint is that my glasses fog up slightly even at speeds of 40 mph unless I leave the visor cracked open a bit. Nice helmet with dropdown sun visor and noisy ventilation system

RPHA 70 ST is a good helmet overall. The medium size I ordered fit correctly as expected. I like the drop-down sun visor and ventilation system. For context I wear this hemelt year-round on my daily commute to work. My only complaint is that the chin curtain is not long enough resulting in incredibly loud wind noise at speed and a numb face and chin in cold weather. Because of said misfortune I would not recommend this helmet and will look for a quieter and warmer helmet in the future.

Replacement for a Bell Star

Needed to replace my Bell Star. Always liked Bell helmets but the Star didn't work well with speakers. Really like this model from HJC. Really good ventilation, very comfortable with speakers and not much wind noise. Also lightweight which means less fatigue after an all day ride. Only drawback is the snap for the chin strap. Feels awkward to use. Would prefer a magnet instead. Otherwise, great helmet.

outstanding lid

This helmet replaced my AGV K3. The K3 was my first drop down visor, an item I will never do without again. The HJC is crazy light, I mean like wearing a ball cap light. It was very odd at first. Before my AGV I had another HJC full face and before that a Shoei Quest. This Carbon helmet is so light it becomes like nothing on my head. The pads were tight at first, painfully so. I just finished a 2K ride and although much better, I will be buying a slimmer set of pads. The helmet is noticeably more quiet than my AGV but it was a loud lid.
