After wearing these sandals 5 times the heal strap tore. They seemed as if they would be great. Unfortunately the best view is in box. If you actually want to wear them then expect them to fail quickly because the are so poorly made. If you want them to maintain their good looks, leave them in the box. Better yet, leave them in the box and leave them in the store.Spend your money on shoes you can actually wear. The even bigger disappointment than spending that much on crappy sandals is expecting Hoka to stand by their product. Like the shoes - the Customer Support link is best left unused. Hoka does not stand by their product and refused to replace sandals despite their admission that they are defective.

I got these for a backpacking trip where there would be many water crossings. I purchased them well in advance, so I would have time to break my feet in. They were immediately comfortable for hour-long walks, and I was soon walking 4-6 hours without breaks. I decided they could be my only footwear on the 3-day, 45-mile outing. They were perfect! They had plenty of width and toe-box space, were easy to get on and off, and surprisingly stable on rough, steep surfaces. I wore them with thin socks on the trail, and sock-less around camp. Great combination of cushion, support, and durability. After around 200 miles, they are not nearly worn out. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Bought these for my Maui trip to do hiking. Brought these everywhere from water fall hikes, to walking on lava rocks to shopping and walking in Lahaina. Very comfy, great quality and fits wellHowever, after the second day, I notice blisters because of my feet rubbing against the inside of the shoe. I had to wear socks with the sandals which defeats the purpose of walking in shallow water. Not sure if it's suppose to be like this.

I almost always wear a 9 but had to return it for a 9.5 due to difficulty in getting the shoes on. I really like the open design without shoelaces. However, the cloth over the instep is too tight to get the 9 shoes on. Even with the rapid lace adjustments all the way out, I was limited by the cloth instep piece. The 9.5 is marginally easier to get on! I would recommend this shoe to a friend as long as they try it on first.
Product arrived in timely manner. Was just what I was hoping for. I have flat feet and need a wide fit thru the toe area. And the base/cushion I knew would already be good since my brother in law and nephew are wearing some Hoka styles for work shoes. I love your fit analysis, asking what size I might wear in a different brand. The size is perfect. And lastly, I would encourage anyone to try your footwear since returns/exchanges are free of charge. This made it easy to give y'all a try!
Perfect sandal. It has been my goto this summer for all activities. Enough cushioning to protect my knees while wearing my baby. these sandals are a firmer than the Hoka Ora - a nice balance of squish and bounce. The build is pretty rugged and feel like they will last a while.Like with all hoka's for me, it is a bit on the narrow side. I ended up going a half size up.
I will preface this with the fact that I have feet that rarely see a beach or are not usually barefoot, so there is that. However, these shoes felt comfortable at home trying them out before heading off to Mexico. That's where things got different. One trip from the hot sand and then beach walk to the resort and The strap that hugs my heel had worn my heel raw. Although I wiped as much sand off getting off the beach, it only takes a little to have the rubber strap grind with each step. I hope to have a better experience at home where beaches and sand don't exist!
I use my hiking sandal for, well, hiking, as well as days on-the-go when I know I'll be on my feet a fair bit. The sandal is not as breathable as other more "open and airy" designs, so be prepared for your feet to perspire. Also, donning the sandal requires some finesse, but I have mastered the "lift up, pull back, push in" method, so I'm fine. Truly, my first attempt at donning the sandal had me thinking the size 9 was not true, but once I got my foot inside, it was fine. Just takes getting used to. As usual, the Hoka signature support wins the day. :)

Comfort-wise they were awesome - Keen-killers (that don't stink) - and the neoprene inner is like it was made for transatlantic flights.My biggest complaint is that the blue came with a 2-tone sole, with light blue on the bottom and dark blue above, where the sole meets the upper. After 2 days, the thin layer of paint used to cover the upper portion of the sole started to wear away. This was on the rugged streets of Rome (only slightly sarcastic). After 2 weeks, the paint loss is noticeable from a distance. I'm now deciding whether I want to return them for a replacement (that might do the same thing - why paint in the age of injection molded ... I have worn Keen Newport H2's since they hit the market, so I figured this would be the best of both, Hoka feel with closed toed sandal. Well, almost. These do not have the cushion of the shoes or slide, but they are more cushiony and have better arch support than the Newport H2. The Hopara's are MUCH more closed in than the Newports, which do make them hotter to wear. The heel piece that attaches to the ankel strap takes a little getting used to, but does cut down on the flip-flop action of the heel making them fairly quiet. Where the outer attaches to the footbed by the arch, feels a bit too inboard and took some getting used to. The Hoka logo is cut a bit too deep into the ...
