They are light and comfortable.This shoe is comfortable, runs a bit big in my opinion, it is a tad wide as well. I'm assuming the extra width toe area is for support(not extra width bought) they're just not aestheitically pleasing as others.I bought a 7 but wished I had opted for 6.5 instead.I have to tightening often. I've had less leg & knee pain but not sure I wouldn't of had that spending less.I think the prices are what they are because people continue to buy them not because they're any better.Are they comfortable, yes. Will I spend $145 plus on tennis shoes again, no. I'll buy Oofos again and save $50 plus. I'm 52 years of age.. we'll beyond they're age bracelet on here of 37 on up!

I bought my first pair of Hoka Clifton 9 Shoes on Feb. 1, 2024. After walking two miles, and wearing them all day, I loved them! On February 2,2024, I went back to the store to purchase a second pair in a different color. They are absolutely the most comfortable athletic Shoe I have ever worn, and they come in a large number color choices, and sizes, I wear Size 8.5 Wide. They are true to size. I love that they are shaped nicely (around the toe area for comfort). Previous brands of athletic shoes I've bought did not allow enough toe room. I will never again, wear another brand of athletic shoes besides Hoka. The sales staff at Dicks Sporting Goods are very nice, and not pushy. I will do my shopping at Dicks from now on. The HOKA Women's Clifton 9 Running Sneakers are comfortable with just great cushion for those who need it. I use this pair exclusively for running (training for my first marathon) and switch between these and a pair of Altra's. These provide the cushion I need to help with knee and hip pain that I typically experience. On days I train in these shoes, I don't experience pain and find that recovery is a lot quicker. They have a decently wide toe box, but I purchased them in a wide to allow more room, because I use these for longer runs. I have purchased two pairs. One for me , the other for my daughter. These are very comfortable super cushioning and a delight to wear. Something about me as the wearer: have a history of lower back problems including a lower disc bulge and have only just started to slow running in addition to strength training. This shoe has been amazing for short slow runs. I don’t wear them for long periods of time (like walking around in on a Saturday ) . I don’t strength train in these shoes. However, over the last couple months I have found that my feet tend to fall inwards when I run (like with someone who has overpronated feet). However, she wore them more frequently (she’s a uni student) running from classes to class, she wore them on the treadmill and on other road runs and she has flat feet and tends to ‘drag her feet’ which I imagine contributed to the short shelf life of the shoe. They are expensive shoes, they are super comfortable but it will all depend on what you use them for, your own walking/running style and of course your dollar situation. Personally, I think that cost this much should last longer.

Over twenty years of buying shoes from Nordstrom, in Easton Town Center in OH and online, this was a first time to order in TX and both these were shipped from Nordstrom Domain and both were lacking quality and expectation of Nordstrom. I needed a new pair of walking shoes for the paved walking/bike trail in our town and the gym. I've had HOKAS recommended by several friends but didn't want to commit to the price point. REI was having a sale on these also I was able to use my member points to purchase my shoes so it wasn't such a painful price point. I've been wearing them about a week now and love them! They feel like walking on a cloud. I don't have to worry about sore arches after a long walk. I don't run so I can't speak to the comfort of running in them, but I could imagine that activity would also feel comfortable as well. The toe box is nice and roomie for my long toes, the arch is supportive of my high arches. Today I wore them to weight train legs. The shoes felt very comfortable and ... I am a huge fan of Hokas and have lived in my Hoka Clifton 8s for the past few years. I walk, run, work out, and travel in them. Because I wanted a pair in black to wear as I travel more for work post-covid, I bought a pair of Clifton 9s several months ago. In this new Clifton version the toe box to mid area (bunion area) is constricted by a new design and some additional restrictive stiching. No give at all. It makes my feet more sore to wear them after an hour than normal work pumps, which is something. They are too used for me to return them to REI (I had faith I could break them in…) I recently tried on my daughter's Mach 6s and they felt great - far more like the Clifton 8s. I'm not sure what happened between the Clifton 8 and 9, but HOKA might want to reexamine their changes to this shoe. I've owned Clifton 6 through 8 (and multiple pairs of them) and absolutely loved them, but the changes made to the Clifton 9 are making me rethink this model altogether. First, HOKA is narrowing a WIDE shoe I wanted in a WIDE for a reason? I don't understand, I would get regular width if that was the case. WIDE means WIDE. Second, HOKA why do we keep making the length LONGER? Typically this style is the only running shoe I can purchase in my actual size (7.5W) but this model, I had over an inch of room from my toe to the end... I had to return the first pair I received and reorder a 7W. Third, the the upper and tongue areas are very built up and ... Prior Cliftons had a smoother upper to tongue section that never rubbed. I can feel blisters and PT in my future from that change. The sole padding is still nice, but overall, I do not know what happened. I think I may have to find a different model or brand if this keeps up.
