I just hope Hoka didn't make changes so drastic.- Feels narrower- Tongue is drastically thicker- Heel seems to slip, had to find a sweet spot with lacing.... Show more

The toe box is roomy and toes were free to be toes. I would caution the toe area though. The top of the toe area is this nice fine mesh and I am somewhat concerned on how well this will hold up, like will holes develop. I wear cushy compfy PAKA shorty socks when I run so I am hoping the cushion on the sock prevents toe wear on the toe area of the shoe. I will definitely buy more of these, and may try out the regular as well. If you have truly wide feet, these may or may not work for you.... Show more

Disappointing
26 September 2022
In 2021 I bought the Clifton 7 and LOVED every second I wore them (which was a lot). I'll let you read reviews of that shoe on your own time, because this one is for the Clifton 8, but I have to compare them. My Clifton 7 lasted a year of constant use, both running and everyday wear. When I finally had to admit they were done, I almost cried. To replace them, I got these, the Clifton 8, hoping they'd be an improvement on the 7. Wrong. The cushion and support of the 8 are nowhere near the quality of the 7, and though I've had the 8 for only two months, they are already wearing holes in the inside heel area, and part of the sole is detaching from the bottom.I suspect I will have to replace these in another couple of months, which after 12 solid months of a shoe I ... MoreIn 2021 I bought the Clifton 7 and LOVED every second I wore them (which was a lot). Not to mention bad for my bank account. HOKA is my go-to brand (I have a pair of trail running shoes I still wear regularly that I've had for 14 months and counting--I don't wear them as often as I did the Clifton 7s), but if they are going to keep disappointing me like this I may have to find an alternative. If you're just looking for a pretty running shoe, though, you can't get much prettier than these Fiesta shoes. So at least there's that...... Show more

Gave me knee and achilles issues
7 October 2022
I have never used Hokas before, but I went to a running shop and after being evaluated (achilles tendinitis on my left foot), they gave me the Clifton 8s as an option. They were a lot cushier than my previous shoes, so I decided to give them a go to see if something different helped reduce my achilles pain. 2 days of walking and a very light jog, and my right knee and right achilles started hurting, both of which I've never had a problem with previously. My left achilles was in excruciating pain. These shoes are very unstable, particularly in the heel area, so your foot ends up flopping around too much. I regret purchasing these.... Show more

Good Cushion, but Lacks in Arch Support
9 August 2022
I bought these for run or walk use. I first few times I used them to run I liked them, but I noticed very little arch support. The cushion is great, but there is no arch support. I have issues with my feet after years of dancing and running, and I need good cushion and arch support. I now use these exclusively for walking, and after 3 miles I will notice arch tenderness. Asics brought back the Kensi running shoe, and I find that to be better for me. I will still choose Hoka's for trail hiking though, just not for running.... Show more

Great for daily wear
10 January 2023
These shoes are super comfortable! They’re sort of narrow, which is great for me because I can’t ever find shoes with the right arch support for my feet, but I feel like I get that with these. I usually wear 10s and these were slightly big for me, (just in the toes) but if I sized down I don’t think there would be a lot of toe box room or room for normal daily swelling. So I feel like they ended up being the perfect size after all. There’s a lot of cushion and they’re sort of bouncy when you walk, so less impact stress. My feet are usually screaming to get out of my shoes by the end of the day, but I don’t get that with these. I’m not a runner or very athletic at all, but I needed something I could stand and walk around in all day pain-free, and these are exactly ... MoreThese shoes are super comfortable! Not good at all.
9 October 2022
I bought these maybe 4 months ago. They were a great fit, comfy, and a wonderful style- I was thrilled to purchase these! Right away when I started wearing them for walking periods longer than 1 mine consecutive, I noticed blisters forming on my toe on my left foot. The blisters continued but eventually became a hard callus. They started forming on my right foot also. I have never experienced this with any other shoe and for the hype of these and the price of these I would expect more. I quit wearing them for my walks and my blisters disappeared/healed. Today I wore them again for my 6 mile WALK and lo and behold… now not only did I get a blister but I got a blood blister!!!! I should have never given these shoes another chance and returned them within the 30 day ... MoreI bought these maybe 4 months ago. Third time is a charm
19 October 2021
I went looking for a good walking/running shoe, and of course went to Scheels because of their amazing return policy. The salesman had me try a pair of Hoka Clifton 8's. I had never even heard of Hoka's. He said they were super cushioned and very popular. Honestly, as I wore them in the store I wasn't impressed. I'm one of those people who miss a smaller profile shoe, without super large thick soles that extend past the length of the shoe. After trying on lots of other shoes and not liking any of them, I decided to go with the Hoka's. Normally I have to buy a half a size larger with walking/running shoes, but Hoka's are larger and I ended up buying my true size and having plenty of room. Normally I have to buy a half a size larger with walking/running shoes, but Hoka's are larger and I ended up buying my true size and having plenty of room. I wore them the next day and once I was walking outside, they were the most comfortable, cushioned shoe I had ever worn, truly amazing. I absolutely hated the color I had bought, so I exchanged them for the navy blue pair, which are super cute, unlike almost all other running shoes. This 2nd pair almost made me quit Hoka's cold turkey. When I started walking in them the next day, the right shoe felt tight right away and started giving me a blister on the inside of my arch after only a mile. It felt like the left side of my right foot was rubbing on the seam. The 1st pair had fit perfectly. When I got home and took off the shoes my right foot was severely swollen. The right shoe was definitely smaller than the left. I was so scared to buy another pair that I tried on other Hoka's, and other brands, but nothing felt like that 1sr pair of Clinton's. I was ready to give up, but I finally decided to try a 3rd pair of Clinton's and hope for the best. When I got the 3rd pair it was perfect, just like the 1st pair. The bad pair was just a fluke, and had nothing to do with buying the wrong model or brand of shoe. I absolutely LOVE my Clifton 8's and I am relieved that things worked out. Thanks to Scheels for having patience with me through this process, and helping me find my new favorite pair of shoes. I literally want to wear them all the time.... Show more

Wow I love these!
26 July 2022
I’m a runner that has been struggling with a few injuries lately, first I had some plantar, then I tore my hamstring and after waiting months to return to running, found my plantar issues were still there! I have always had some decent cushion in my road shoes, but went ahead and took the advice of my boyfriend and tried some HOKAS. I tried the Clifton as they were marked as “everyday” and the most used. Man I love them! I walked in them a few times and then went for a 5 miler run today. They feel like I’m running along on clouds and no PF pain today. That’s a double win in my book! They are a little big, but not enough to go down a size.... Show more
