My feet don't hurt at work, and I've somehow managed to double my daily steps. I was skeptical with the price tag, but am not regretting the investment. Thanks Hoka for designing a great shoe. Will be more than happy to write more awesome reviews for future purchases!... Show more

Comfortable but not durable
5 May 2024
These shoes are very comfortable and supportive when new, however, after about 6 months of occasional wearing (usually 2 days/week walking around the neighborhood) the outsole began to peel apart. I contacted Hoka's warranty department and was told I could ship the shoes in at my cost for assessment, and if they determined the damage was from regular wear and tear I would have to pay to have them shipped back. I decided this wasn't worth the hassle so I continued to wear them. Within a few more months, the padding inside the shoe had completely smashed down and the shoes began to look and feel very tired.I am disappointed in the durability of these shoes and will not purchase Hoka again. ON and Nike hold up much better over similar usage.... Show more

Extremely Comfortable and Lightweight
30 June 2024
This is mt second pair of Solimers. Liked the first pair so much decided to get a second pair. These shoes are extremely comfortable, fit perfectly, and are so lightweight I hardly notice I have anything on my feet. I bought the first pair in size 12 that fit OK but they subtly tight on the sides of my feet even after breaking in, Bought the second pair is size 12.5 and they are not tight on the sides of my feet and fit perfectly. Nevertheless, I'm still going to wear the size 12s as well because they feel so good on my feet.... Show more

Great for Hoka feel, but without the huge stack
3 April 2024
Bought this to replace my Hoka Cliftons, which were very comfortable but had such a high stack that it left me feeling disconnected and with some ankle instability. These Solimars are a great middle ground between something with very little comfort, like an Altra, and a super high cushion like the Cliftons. I also find it hard to find a variety of shoes with no stability or inner post, and these are neutral. My only negative has been the sturdiness of the heel tab, which after just one or two accidental crushes seems to have lost most of its rigidity. That is as much on me as the shoe, though.... Show more

Not as Study for Training
12 June 2024
I went with the shoe because my trainer suggested I get a training shoe for more stability particularly when I am doing leg exercises. This shoe does not offer the stability. I need seems to stretch excessively with the pressure from the weights. I have 20 pair of Hoka sneakers. I wear a different shoe to the gym each day. Most of my shoes are the BONDI, the Gaviota, carbon X, and other types, which seem to give me support when I'm working out with other equipment./weights. Please redesign the shoe to have it be a little more stable. I switched from Nike to Hoka many years ago and I love your brand, but this shoe is sadly disappointing.... Show more

Not for lots of walking/standing, could be good shoe
29 April 2024
I coach tennis all day (way more walking and standing then tennis playing!) and have been looking for more comfortable shoes that will also not force me to buy new ones so often. I'd tried probably 15+ different shoes and nothing seems to last longer than a month before my knees and hips start hurting. My tennis friend a former D1 player recommended Hokas for the walking/standing coaching, and I got 3+ months out of the Biondi 8s and was thrilled because they were also so comfortable and looked good. I'd been telling lots of people how awesome they were and I truly do thank your company for those.I then purchased the Solimar's with hopes that I could also play tennis more, and unfortunately they were not quite what I was looking for as my knees started to hurt ... MoreI coach tennis all day (way more walking and standing then tennis playing!) and have been looking for more comfortable shoes that will also not force me to buy new ones so often. Which of your shoes would you recommend for tennis play? These Solimar's are still in good shape but I can't wear them. After a week or so of trying the Solimars, I decided I needed to buy some more Hokas before my body went out and this time I got the Clifton 9s, and so far they seem similarly comfortable to the Biondis and I've been happy.... This is the Best Value Model of HOKA Shoe
21 September 2024
I love these shoes. And for the price, I don't think you can beat this model of HOKA compared to some of the more expensive ones.DISCLAIMER: I am not an "Everyday Runner". I run maybe 10-15 miles per week either on a treadmill or on pavement/road depending on the weather where I live.If you are an Everyday Runner, you might want to disregard this review. With that said, I have what some would call a bit of a shoe buying problem. I buy too many. I own too many pairs. I think I own more pairs of shoes than my wife; not sure. I buy shoes first and foremost for comfort, and secondarily for performance and style. I own several unworn pairs of the classics, mostly from Adidas and Puma. I am "saving them for later", rather than suffering the devastating disappointment ... MoreI love these shoes. I own several unworn pairs of the classics, mostly from Adidas and Puma. I am "saving them for later", rather than suffering the devastating disappointment of not being able to find them, or realizing there was a manufacturing change, or whatever scenario where I can't get a perfect fit with a fresh pair when my current pair wears out. Understand?I am lucky I never got into the Air Jordans game, because I'm not wealthy. Also, as stated above, I do not run every day. Running is a small part of my physical wellness that includes a variety of activities I won't list out here. But I know if a pair of shoes is a Keeper within about a month of consistent wear, which includes running and cross-training as well as just casual wear and walking. These shoes are TTS to me, perfectly, right at a 10. I range between 8.5 and 10.5 depending on the brand. But when I try a shoe on, I start with 10, and that's usually a fit.I would say buy with confidence in your size, unless others disagree outside of a 10.I like these shoes so much that I will be buying another identical pair to keep in a box in my closet, along with all of the other brand new "best shoes I've ever worn" collection. If you want a really solid HOKA shoe but don't feel like paying $200+, try these. If you run 10+ miles everyday, and they wear out too quickly, I can't speak to that.... Show more

WARNING: Do NOT buy these poorly made shoes!!
10 October 2023
I purchased a pair of Arahi at a retailer. After using only twice the insert in the shoe was almost totally flat and not supportive. So I then try to use Hoka's "great" warranty, but they only offer me a site credit. AND I had to pay the $25 to ship the shoes back to them. Once I finally got my new shoes after two weeks (these Salimars), the left shoe had its plastic shoe tip pointed down and digs into my toes when I run. Could only run for two minutes before that became too uncomfortable. So I call them back, telling the customer service rep I have now had TWO defective pairs (costing over $150 with tax). But alas, said there's nothing they can do but offer to replace them after I pay another $25 to ship these back to them.
