Hoka upgraded the midsole compound for a lighter, cushier ride, increasing the stack height but nestling the foot securely in an Active Foot Frame. Then they reworked the 5mm lugs for an even more aggressive bite, wrapping the high-abrasion rubber strategically up the outsole, and adding an extra plush sockliner for comfort for the long haul.
