Absolute ripper!

Bought this yesterday to tackle a big lawn that gets out of control long as my life is too busy to look after it.The engine has stacks of torque and munches through long grass with ease, the blade is a dual level, different to others and I think a big part of why it works so well. Self propulsion works well, drives up a hill easily. actually throws grass into the catcher, unlike some mowers that just bunch it up under the chassis and bog the engine down. Does start really easily too. Saves me reefing my shoulder all the time.

Axle and bearing problem

I purchased this mower 2 1/2 years ago, it had a warranty claim before the warranty expired due to the rear wheels seizing up, the mechanic told me that it was a constant problem and that the rear axle needed to be serviced annually as they were prone to this problem. He also mentioned that the rear wheel bearings were not waterproof, well guess what it has seized up again and it is now out of warranty.

Cuts well hope this one is ok

Fast and fun. Great little mower

Great little mower. Solid construction and easy to start. Gets the job done faster than my old Victa push mower and makes the job easy too. Top speed is faster than you'd expect.

Honda vs Toro vs Victa
27 November 2022

I have brought all 3 self propelled mowers from bunnings and this Honda is by far the best.Victa easy walker had the worst self propelled system out of the 3 as you needed to still push with force to move it and the slightest incline you had to push your self . But cut grass well .Toro 22" Personal Pace - Great self propelled system but would struggle to cut 3-4 week grass grow without stalling and carrying onHonda 21" Self Propelled Mower - Fastest self propelled system , literally if your not ready you will have to chase it , Cuts great. Chute will clog if you don't empty it in time which for me is the biggest negative but most new mowers are coming out with the smaller chute that will clog sadly. All in all great mower and dont waste your time or money on ... MoreI have brought all 3 self propelled mowers from bunnings and this Honda is by far the best.Victa easy walker had the worst self propelled system out of the 3 as you needed to still push with force to move it and the slightest incline you had to push your self . Mowing to stay fit with arthritis.
6 October 2021

I love the mower, I have arthritis I’m 72 years old, this will help me to keep mowing for a lot more years. My only criticism is the pull start, with arthritic fingers I find it a bit difficult to pull though it starts easily, I would like to see an electric key start. I am also concerned about the life of the mower catcher, I am concerned it might rip easily. Sounds as though I have lots of complaints, not true, it mows beautifully, the grass looks great afterward and I would recommend it anyone who asked me about it.

Recommended for large lawns
29 September 2021

Great mower. Easy to start. Easy to use. I mow 1500sqm in under 30 mins without any issues. Mows damp grass without clogging- couch lawn. Self drive negates the weight of the bigger plate. Recommended for larger lots.

Self propelled Honda mower

Purchased during lockdown for hubby as a father's Day present. Delivered the same day as buying. He's absolutely in love with it, I've used it and the speed of the self propell mower is outstanding!

Very glad I got this one, simple to use too
26 July 2021

Great mower! Glad I went with the self propelled version it's heavier on paper than the non-self-propelled version but it's not heavy to push around. Obviously a little heavy when the engine is off but nothing unmanageable.Have only had 2 runs but it cuts really well. Easy to clear the catcher and was a nice surprise that it came with a small oil bottle

Worst mower ever
5 February 2023

Worst mower ever. Bought it to help me mow large lawn because of back injury. Self propulsion unit has broken down a hundred times and is still broken. Been back to Honda dealer numerous times for repairs but keeps on breaking. This means I am pushing a mower without assistance and the mower is much much heavier because of the additional drivetrain attachments that no longer work. Secondly the discharge chute is ridiculously small, and as a result most of the grass does not enter the catcher but ends up on the ground. The individual height adjusters on each wheel is also incredibly time consuming and I have to bend down four times to change the height. ( remember my back injury). The motor I can't fault, always reliable and starts after a couple of pulls. I don't ... MoreWorst mower ever. Bought it to help me mow large lawn because of back injury. I don't recommend this mower and if you buy Honda be very careful about the self propulsion mechanism, as I would say it first broke a couple of months after purchase.
