Although a little heavy to lift if you have brittle bone or arthritis it is easy to use. It pushes easily and turns very easily goes under things without having to use attachments, well as long as not really low. It is so easy to empty and re attach the container,everything you need to use is to hand on the machine no wondering where you put them and where they have gone, or with my family what else are they being used for. I bought a Hoover upright cleaner 30 years ago and it's still going strong but of course not upto date ad no attachments plus the old fashioned splitting bags, as I say still works. Having got rid of all my old heavyweight vacuums I am now slowly replacing them with cordless and what a joy they are to use. My first cordless is a little gem and does all my downstairs wood flooring, tiles and lino perfectly but I needed a more substantial machine for upstairs carpets in bedrooms and hallways, The Hoover Unplugged is perfect for the extra hard work as it feels and works like a traditional corded vacuum. Its strong and very powerful with options on the type of flooring to be cleaned. It is heavier than most light weight cordless vacuums but without the hassle of unplugging and plugging in everywhere I want to clean I can clean the three floors of my house within less than half an hour - absolutely brilliant! Very happy with it, well-designed and very effective, it's like a breath of fresh air compared to my previous one by a different manufacturer. With the "wiper blade" fitted it's harder to push on carpet, but the increase in efficiency is worth the extra effort. Being able to store the crevice tool is a big plus.

Long lead, easy to use with super long stretchy hose. Easy to empty and keep clean. Various floor settings and the hose pick up is pretty powerful for a low priced vacuum cleaner. I had a similar older model which I really liked and lasted me for over 7 years with no problems. So just wanted the newer version. Id have had the old model again if it had been around. This seems just as good so far. If it serves me as well as the last one Ill be happy. Sadly the little brush was missing but guess I can buy that!?
Cannot say one good thing about this Hoover VL81 Velocity vacuum cleaner. I have had this for just over a year and it has NEVER ever been any good. it is hard to manoeuvre and It has never really pick up properly. It has constantly got blocked and even when the blockages have all been cleared, it stinks. The most annoying thing is that is I have never put it to heavy use, just round the house stuff and it is totally useless. It NEVER had any suction worth talking about. The tube from the carpet section to the container was constantly blocked and was a nightmare to clean. As for the carpet brush bristles they are impossible to clean and free from carbet strans and pet hair bundles, you need to be a Mechanical Engineer to take it apart for proper cleaning. It has got a few people saying hard to push on carpet and it is a bit but there is a thin rubber blade in front of the brush bar if you remove this ( not difficult to do ) the cleaner becomes so much easier to glide over carpet stands up on its own when when parked the cable is a bit short but it's light weight! ! And the top part of the handle comes out and fits at the side of the cleaner halving the height of the cleaner so you can store it under the stairs and it is light weight !!! Normal hoovering is fine, I don't think the handle is very strong. The problem is, when you want to use the hose to use attachment's, you have to disconnect a small hose and then attach the long hose which is wrapped around the back. The clips are hard plastic, quite fiddly and at the bottom of the hoover. I bought this for my mums cleaner, I would not buy it for myself. You have to hoover say one floor of your house, then attach the hose and do the skirting! It get used once a week, no good if you have pets or kids, cheap though.

I was somewhat sceptical, never heard of a vacuum being that strong people couldn't move it because it sticks to the floor, anyway mine arrived and I set it up and switched it on in the kitchen and low and behold it stuck like a limpet to the tiled floor, took all my strength to move it and then that was by lifting it first. When you set it up the instructions tell you to insert two blades (supplied), look like thin wiper blades, one in front and one behind the roller brush under the cleaner head. The cleaner now works just like any other clearer and does a very good job and I'm very pleased with it. Another problem I found was that the electric supply cable is attached too low down. Most upright vacuums the cable enters the via the handle and this allows the operator to manoeuvre the cleaner with one hand while keeping the cable out of the way with the other hand and has the cable is attached at the handle it falls readily to hand. But with this cleaner the cable attaches to the body low down close to the floor making it difficult to reach and you have to bend down to do so. The upshot of which is you don't bother and end up tripping over or fouling the cable with the cleaner which can get annoying. Otherwise it's a very nice cleaner, easy to uses, and simple to empty.
