Great spin bike

I'm a runner that suffers from achilles tendinitis so I wanted to get something that I could use especially over the cold winter months. I have to say the bike is great, easy to put together and very solid. Where it's let down is the accompanying Fitdisplay app. It's rubbish and not worth using. Fortunately it's compatible with loads of other good cycling apps that are easy to use. Also it's not made clear in the instructions that you have to be pedalling for the Bluetooth to connect to your device. Also replace the batteries it comes with. Overall though this is a good bike!

Firstly, the bike itself is brilliant. It's well made, sturdy, very quiet and the gears work great. The transition from seated to standing on the peddles is faultless. However, the monitor and sensor are absolutely rubbish. Cheap, nasty and keeps failing to work halfway through a session which is very frustrating. When trying to place the sensor near to the right pedal, the two illustrations in the manual contradict each other so it's trial and error. The monitor screen is very dark, and very basic. I changed the batteries that came with it for new ones but made no difference. I contacted John Lewis who passed the question, 'where does the sensor go exactly' to their supplier...... nobody ever got back to me. (shame on you john Lewis)I have given up on the monitor ... MoreFirstly, the bike itself is brilliant. It's well made, sturdy, very quiet and the gears work great. I am amazed that the John Lewis buying team didn't see how bad the monitor was, when purchasing the package.I strongly recommend the bike but I would suggest you don't even bother with the monitor and sensor.

I wanted a spin bike, but did not want to sign up for the monthly ongoing cost of the Peloton (or similar). After quite a bit of research, I settled on this one, in part based on the reviews of other users. Its great. The Bluetooth works well, the bike is very comfortable and effectively silent. Its heavy to move around but the wheels help and it is very solidly built. I really like that I can use it with third party apps. I followed the recommendations in the other comments and didn't even bother to attach the supplied console but it works perfectly with my tablet, even if I have to adjust the resistance myself. I'm really pleased with this purchase.

Overall a great bike!
14 July 2021

Having used this for about 2 months daily, it performs just as I hoped, being nice and quiet with the magnetic resistance, and very smooth in use. It feels hefty and solid. However, it does have a lot of plastic parts, and I had noticed small amounts of rubber from the belt appear behind the bike after the first few weeks of use. This hasn't affected performance but I have minor concerns about long term durability. Also keep in mind this is quite heavy, it can be cumbersome to move around if needed.

Review update
3 April 2021

I posted a review last year highly recommending the bike but rubbishing the console. Having now owned and used the bike almost daily, I can confirm the actual bike itself is awesome and well worth the money on its own. I removed the console on day one and instead fitted the tablet holder (supplied, I wonder why). Like many others, I am using a tablet with such apps like 'cycle go' which is brilliant. I can comfortably sit/stand on the bike for easily up to two hours plus. The gearing and general quality of the bike is brilliant. The huge flywheel and magnetic resistance are very superior and high quality. Just one more thing, I fitted my own pedals so I can clip in and the standard of adjustment on seat, handlebars etc are second to none. I am seriously recommending ... MoreI posted a review last year highly recommending the bike but rubbishing the console. Terrible
10 October 2021

I bought this bike 2 months and I've been trying to return it ever since. The seat is extremely uncomfortable and hurts to sit on. The pedals are poor quality and the fact it doesn't come with a console is terrible considering the price of it already. No one will respond to my queries on returning it. Never buying from Harvey Norman ever again.

This is excellent home bike
4 May 2021

So far the bike was easy to assemble. Easy to move. The blue tooth was easy to set up and sync and the app does everything needed and free. The only problem is the bike seat is rather narrow so if your not used to those types of seats you will need to go buy a new seat designed for comfort. That's what I did on day two of owning the bike.

Very good bike indeed, sturdy and compact
2 November 2020

We have just bought this bike and had our first use from it today, 2nd November. Having borrowed a Keiser M3i spin bike for 3 months previously my wife and I much prefer this one as its more compact, easy to assemble and we are very pleased with it indeed. The pedalling mechanics make it very smooth and silent. However the disappointing aspect so far is getting the technology to work properly. The FitDisplay app is not syncing with my I phone correctly and the Bluetooth is currently inoperable and won't let me make the connection between bike and app to then enjoy the functions of the free Fit Display app. This review would definitely be a Good and more if I wasn't experiencing difficulties with the technology side of the bike.

dead end product

First the good stuff. Really sturdy unit. Great for a workout. Very quiet. It does have a bluetooth connection. However the data delivered is next to useless. This unit does not measure you output but calculate it on rev * setting. If you want repeatable results. Na. It does not (after h of playing) connect to Apple's fitness world. It is useless to "race" on Zwift. As said the output is more of an assumption than anything real. No updates planed that fix this. Get yourself a bike trainer.

the design is terrible and hopeless.
20 September 2021

the design particularly the way the front bar get designed is terrible. It is actually a stick that goes to circle and can never reach 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock position. and normally it goes to 3pm postion, and when you spin on that circle, it will hurt your knee very badly. only alternative is - when you spin, make sure you also pay attention to your knee, make sure it opens wide so you won't get hurt. but in my eyes, why should i pay this level of attention when i spin??? the design is terrible and hopeless.
