I bought this dress from the House of CB website. As I had never purchased from this brand before, and their dresses are not cheap, I paid close attention to their sizing guide, even getting out my measuring tape to double check that my measurements were accurate. I am right in the middle of their size small according to their sizing guide, if anything, on the smaller end of the measurements. So, imagine my surprise when I receive this dress and can barely zip it up over my waist - 26.5" when their small goes up to a 28" waist - and then could not manage to zip the dress up my ribcage at all - my bra size is a 32D, I do not have a broader than average ribcage. I reached out to their customer service to ask if this is an anomaly, or if I should exchange the dress for a medium. Their response was completely unacceptable, I will copy a part of it here:"...our size chart is designed to serve as a guide to choose your size based on your measurements (it doesn't reflect the flat measurements of each item), the fitting can vary depending on stretch factor, internal boning, etc since each item is unique, it also depends on each body type."Essentially, they are writing that their sizing chart cannot be used to accurately gauge a size to be purchased. Also, if you know anything about sewing, you would know that stretch factor, boning, 'etc'... should be taken into account when patterning a garment. All clothes are sewn by people, there is no a machine that sews clothes, so a variance is expected, but not by this wide of a margin. However, every other brand in existence has been able to manage patterning garments that adhere to somewhat standard sizing.DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS BRAND. And if you do, do so from a store like Nordstrom that covers returns... House of CB does not cover return shipping and requires items be shipped signature required, so this return is going to cost me $20+... I asked for a prepaid return label, as I did everything a consumer can be expected to do to buy an item that is an accurate fit, but House of CB declined to send one.

It is evident to me that whoever designed this dress has never actually seen a woman in real life and therefore based it loosely off of princesses from old Disney movies. I am 5’6 usually a size XS/S and have a large full bust (30F). Based off of the size guide and reviews I ordered a medium in the large bust. I could not get it zipped up! The fabric is so thick, and is probably similar to the curtains that Maria used in “the sound of music” to make the Von Trapp children their outfits. There was far too much heavy fabric in the skirt and did not lay nicely which made the slit impossible to see. The dress is also way longer than the picture shows, it was down to my ankles. The bust was actually too small! If you have fullness in the top of your breast it is not for ... MoreIt is evident to me that whoever designed this dress has never actually seen a woman in real life and therefore based it loosely off of princesses from old Disney movies. The whole dress is a disaster and I found it to be quite confusing.

Love this dress! Was well worth the big purchase. Tried most styles of the House of CB dresses for a wedding and landed on this one. Dress fits slightly funny when off the rack however ALL of the ties, even in the front bust area, are purposeful! You have to adjust according to your chest. If you are a full B cup you should be able to fill it out with adjustment. I wore mine with a strapless bra so I could feel more secure and it made the girls GIRL. Other than that, the length of dress would better suit someone that’s approx 5’7, but it looks fine with heels as I am 5’5. Highly recommend.

Not a fan. I’m a size small with a larger cup size and this dress runs super small. I would have been better in a medium with the corset waist. There is absolutely ZERRROOO cup support. I was quite literally exposed to the world in this dress. That being said, the fabric is thick and beautifully made. However, I would not buy this dress. ALSO, important note: if you do choose to buy this dress or any other House of CB product, DO NOT buy from the House of CB website!!! They have horrible customer service and make you pay to mail back the return. Terrible experience with them. Love Nordstrom, though!
I was looking for a cute floral spring/summer dress and somehow Google led me to this dress, but it didn't have great reviews. I went ahead and ordered the rose print XS larger bust size (I am 5'2" 108lbs, 33-24-35 30DDD) to my local Nordie's with the thought that if I didn't like it, I'd just return it on the spot. Luckily, it fit perfectly and I LOVE it. However, I also understand where other reviewers are coming from completely. The front cups are very ruched, there's a lot of fabric, so if you don't fill them out they will just hang there awkwardly and there's no remedy for that. The straps are not adjustable. I also could have bought a S size probably, but the only available size for the rose print was XS. I also could have bought a S size probably, but the only available size for the rose print was XS. The dress is very structured and the corset is functioning, so if you're between sizes or unsure I might choose the size up and lace tighter. It definitely snatches you. It is a bit longer on me than the model, maybe halfway between knee and ankle. The material is cotton and a bit of rayon so it feels very nice on the skin and breathable for the summer. It's thick enough to not need a bra. Overall I love it and I think for the fit/structure/material it is worth the price.
I wanted to love this dress so badly! Let me start by saying I assumed I would safely be an XS because I have a 24.5 in waist and my bra size is a 30B. I'm 5'7" and 110 lbs. I could not go the life up me zip this dress up even after removing all tension in the corset detailing.Even so, the cups were not attached to any portion of the corset or back of this garment so even if I got into this dress the top would be completely open to anyone taller than me.I was massively disappointed by the fit of this dress but also the large polyester composition for the price tag. I would recommend anyone considering this dress to find a dupe on Amazon for the construction and fiber quality
I have wanted this dress for months, and I finally had an excuse to get it! I was a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding this weekend, the perfect occasion to spend a little extra money on a beautiful dress. Now- this dress IS beautiful, I looked amazing with the corset and it fit my body wonderfully. That is, until the reception. After wearing this dress for only 3 hours THE STRAP POPPED OFF. The corset kept the dress on, so we didn't have a disastrous malfunction but the the stitches ripping out really sucked. Luckily we had an emergency sewing kit to toss a couple of stitches in for the remaining pictures. This is unacceptable, I had never worn the dress before and I wasn't doing anything crazy enough to warrant the loss of a strap. So yes, this is a beautiful ... MoreI have wanted this dress for months, and I finally had an excuse to get it! So yes, this is a beautiful dress that will leave you looking incredible- so long as you barely move.
My body measurements: hips - 38 inches, waist - 27 inches, chest - 30.5 inches & A cup, height 5’2, shoulder-to-crotch 24 inches, arm length - 21 inches.Stunning!I was surprised that the fabric resisted wrinkles, after a full day of wear it wasn’t noticeable. It hugged my body correctly and it felt structured, also with a satisfying feeling of fabric weight.HOWEVER, let’s talk boobs, I bought the A/B cup. I’m used to garments not fitting my cup A boobs but this was large. No it doesn’t fit or look right on my bust. But pinning the sides to the shoulder straps seemed to help cope with this problem. Are you going to buy it for almost 300 dollars and have pin the dress to help a rather noticeable bust issue? Well, I did and I love the dress so worth it for me.
I purchased this in the blue and white (not shown as of me writing this) in a size small. For reference, I am 5’4 and about 125-130 lbs, 27” waist with a 34C bra size. Firstly, the straps were not adjustable and waaaaaaay too short. I couldn’t even get the cups anywhere near my boobs. After taking down the straps to see if this was salvageable, I can confirm everyone’s comments that the cups are too big. I could close the hook and eye around my chest and zip up to my waist, but there was about 3-4 inches of space between the zipper from my waist to my chest. No way was this zipping. I don’t even believe a medium would fit. I would probably need a large, which is no longer available in the color I had selected. Very disappointing.
I’m shocked. After reading the reviews on this dress I wasn’t expecting much, but holy cow. The material is thick and structured and double lined so the white is extremely opaque. I will say I think the house of CB dresses tend to run on the “smaller” side in the waist because they’re supposed to have a corset effect. I am a 34DD, 26 inch waist and the small D/E cup size fit me like a dream. I’m so excited to wear it. If you need support you could probably put like sticky boobs in the top as it adjusts, but has little lifting support. I feel snatched and confident in the dress, House of CB’s quality has definitely come a long way.
