I own a few Hoya ND filters and this one is the only one that adds a blue colour cast to my images. I'm familiar with this occurring with some ND filters but the colour cast on this filter is quite extreme. I get the feeling I bought a rejected product, which may explain the low price.

Been using the filter for a while and it's really well built, doesn't scratch and screws into my lens with ease.Came in handy for a recent product lifestyle shoot I did. I was shooting in a dark room and had to simulate natural light with strobes, these didn't have high speed sync so I wasn't able to shoot at a wide aperture even when using the strobes on a low power. Then came the Nd filter and I was able to shoot with nice shallow depth of field.

The ProND64 filter allows seconds-long exposure in bright lighting conditions to smooth water and allow for shallower depth of field images. The 72mm filter rim is short enough to not be caught in the images down to a 10 mm focal length on my Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 10-20 mm F/4.5-5.6G VR lens. However, stacking on any additional filters will result in the edge showing up in the final image.

Great filter for low light photography, as a fairly new user of ND filters I found this 6 stop filter to really easy to use and have had good results from the moment i started using it. I was reccomended to start with this filter by the friendly people at Wex Photography and thankyou to them as I have started to get some great images.
It is a pro product at a good price. I made comparisson between the old production and this one. The previous used to warm up the colors giving them a bit of reddish colors. This one is absolutely neutral.
This has a reddish colour cast when it shouldnt affect colour at all. I simply dont know if Hoya quality control is poor or even if this is a Hoya at all. The colour cast is consistent, and yes, I am just OC enough to compare with and without to make certain. This can be corrected, especially with RAW files, but it shouldnt have to be. As it happens I need it now and theres no time to look elsewhere. The thing is, at 41, it isnt cheap. I do wonder if it is genuine as I have older Hoyas that are all fine.
I bought this to use with waterfall photography. I wanted a thin mount (with front threads) to use with a superwide lens.It works well, but it is so thin you might need a filter wrench to remove it. I found it particularly difficult to grip the ring when it is mounted on a Zeiss 18mm lens, due to the bayonet lens hood mount on the lens, right next to the threads.
No body is perfect. Online not very user friendly. Fellow on the phone was great. Very helpful.
On the filter itself - perfect. Immaculate quality, no image issues through it. On the pros and cons of an ND64 filter? Great for keeping f stop down in bright sunlight. 5D4 still manages to autofocus through it, as long as there is lots of light, and if there isn't, why are you using a six stop ND? I have also used this along with strobes to overpower the sun but still keep a short DOF.
