That filter has Newtons rings! Not good at all, colors are ok but you can't have pictures taken with huge Newton rings on it! I believe it is because that filter is made with several layers (producing Newton ring as we've seen in slides glass frames. At first I thought that it was moire due to my D800 high resolution 36MP sensor but you can see the Newton rings just by holding the filter and looking at a light bulb! I also have a ND500 made by Light Craft Workshop and it does not have any Newton rings.

The filter arrived the day before I left for Europe so it when straight in the bag. The first time I used it I noticed a slight mark in the coating on one side. Like the coating had come away. I have not yet had a chance to see the photo I took so fingers crossed it's ok but I have big doubts. Had not realized the ND was down to a coating rather than through the glass. Wish I had opted for the Lee filter now. One star for now, hopefully it's better then that.

More affordable than B+W; has the middle of ranges number of multicoating. It cuts light and it is not rocket science. Buy this.
I really wanted to start taking long exposure shots. So I ordered a 10-stop B&W filter because B&W is my go-to filter brand. Before I received it, I found reviews and sample shots of different 10-stop+ filters, and I saw that the B&W filter (and all the other filters under $) had a color cast that needed to be corrected in post processing. I try to minimize post-processing, and sometimes I shoot film. So I returned the B&W and bought this Hoya. I love it. No color cast. Much better build than my Hoya circular polarizer that fell apart in my hands while backcountry hiking.
I've only experimented with the filter once since I bought it. I photographed a fountain in the lake behind our house and it did what I expected. The filter made the fountain look fluffy and lake surface look very smooth. I plan to go over to Cocoa Beach Pier or Daytona Beach Pier at high tide to shoot them with the filter and I expect great results. I also plan to do some car and airplane portraits with the filter. It should give some dramatic results.

Along with Hoya's exclusive clear optical glass you cant go wrong with the PRO ND filters and Hoya has been the worlds largest maker of optical glass for quite some time I've heard.I'm very happy with the Hoya PRO ND's. I have the PRO ND64 and the PRO ND1000 77mm and will order the PRO ND8 to finish my Hoya ND collection.
I have not used this much yet but it works great so far. There is no obvious color cast in what I have done and no noticeable loss in sharpness. I have compared a couple shots taken with and without and the color seems the same and things are just as sharp. The only thing I have noticed that is not a problem for me is if you point the camera to close to a very bright object like the sun you will get some bad vignetting. However, this does not surprise me and it wont affect the picture too much as long as you don't put the sun directly in the picture. Overall, I am very satisfied and would both recommend this product and buy it again.
Was searching for something with minimal color cast that could be used on different types of lenses including telephoto. For my photography needs, a square filter system was impractical. The Hoya really fit the bill for almost a year, but after that the filter started to degrade and became blotchy. I couldn't say if it was UV light or ocean mist eating away at the coating, but after awhile the filter was unusable. Honestly, I can't complain about the results of the filter....just know you may have to replace it after some time of use in the field.
Relly a versitile filter. Mainly the motion needed for good water movement is the 6x. For me anyway. A Big Stopper at 10x is just too much for good water movement .....for most of what I shoot.
