HP 14 Chromebook Laptop - Intel Celeron, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC - 14a-ne0013dx (Modern Gray)

I've been using my HP laptop for a while now, and it’s been a solid performer. The performance is smooth, handling multitasking and demanding software with ease. In terms of durability, the build feels sturdy and reliable. The portability is a huge plus; it's lightweight and easy to carry around. The display quality is sharp and vibrant, making streaming and working enjoyable. As for battery life, it lasts a full day with moderate use, which is impressive. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my HP laptop!

IT'S JUST A BIG PHONE ISN'T IT?

I just wish anyone had ever been clear about what a Chromebook does. The answer is, it does nothing! It's like having a giant phone. You have to DOWNLOAD everything including all your microsoft programs in order to view and print and you cannot SAVE anything unless it's in cloud storage on OneDrive or some other program. Also a lot of function keys are missing from the usual keyboard functions (like the DELETE key) that a laptop usually has. And, no matter that I always include in my search a BACKLIT KEYBOARD and although the adds always promote this model as well as others as backlit, IT IS NOT. If you are an adult and not a nine-year-old using it for school work, leave it and buy a real laptop.

[Rewarded Review] Budget- Friendly, Better Than I Expected

Too Easy to Set-up. It’s my first time using the chromebook but it’s quite convenient for my studies and work . Most of the times I use it for my online courses, I do make my assignments, I open multiple tabs at a times but it doesn’t slow it’s processing time, running very smoothly. Battery life is very good , once it charged it lasts for a day or even more. It’s portable and light weight. It comes with 3 months of free Google+ subscription and 6 months of antivirus software for free. I highly recommend this if you are looking something Affordable and convenient for your kid’s studies or office works, it’s a great choice to be honest.

I already purchased one for my granddaughter and really like it a lot and I’m going to order one for myself. I purchased the same type about 2 and 1/2 years ago for her and just purchased the new one at Easter for a present. I really like all the features it has and memory space. It’s just right for her and me. They also have a great sale on them right now. Amazon can’t even beat their price! Now that’s saying a lot! I love shopping at Best Buy! They always have what you need no matter what you are looking for. The battery lasts at least 2 days without charging it.

This laptop provides top-level functionality. I have multiple memory-hogging programs installed and can have numerous windows open without conflict or lags. I have had no technical problems with this laptop other than getting a blue-screen of death every once in awhile, but I believe this is a software (namely, Windows 11) issue and not a laptop issue.The only negative thing I have to say about this laptop is that it is extraordinarily heavy. I would not purchase this laptop as a frequent traveler. [Rewarded Review] Good for what it is

This is my second Chromebook. It's a dependable piece of equipment, as long as I don't try to do too much on it. When that happens, the lag time drives me insane (for example, when I have to use WordPress, Canva, and Pinterest/Flipboard all at the same time). Thankfully, I have a second laptop that can do the heavy lifting my job requires, or at least take some of the burden off this machine.This Chromebook performs best when I stick to using it for writing and editing tasks or ONLY use it to create graphic media while not doing anything else.I will note that I expected better battery life from this. The battery on the Acer Chromebook we bought my husband seems to last quite a bit longer than this one.

GenX here, my first laptop. Thru the years I tried other laptops of friends & family decided they were not for me. I must keep a desktop for my work regardless. I also have Iphone & an Ipad. Needing "portable" full screen access to a supplier website that wasn't compatible with Ipad is why I chose this 14" HP Chromebook. And the "on sale" price was very good.It took 11 attempts to verify I was not a robot during setup, sending me back to start over from the beginning. Where you pick the squares that have a car, crosswalk ect was crazy small with 9 tiny squares in it. You've got a 14 inch screen but a tiny photo box to click on. I could move to go back, submit, and all around the squares but not to try another method. It also had a timer on it, so that was a factor. I'm not sure if I could have used a mouse, but I do recommend to try plugging in a USB wireless mouse before you attempt set up.The resolution or clarity of the display is not great either, though it's about the same as my sister's 6+ year old laptop.Connecting to wifi, printer ect was easy.I have strong home wifi, and the laptop responds instantly. I've not traveled with it, I'm using it in our detached garage about 60ft from the router.I am using it with a Logitech M185 USB receiver mouse.

Purchased as a Christmas gift, from what the family member shared this is a great little everyday laptop. It's lightweight and easy transportable and is great for an average computer user (surfing the internet, streaming services like Netflix, using Google Drive). Battery life is great, and it charged super fast! The camera quality is a bit fuzzy, but nothing super bad. This is a Chromebook, so I highly suggest you do your research and know what you are getting into; if you are a student who needs Microsoft word and excel, chrome books may not be the best option for you. Chromebooks are like phones, they have apps and although you can download Microsoft word it does not come with all of the regular features.it can sometimes run a bit slow, but nothing crazy.

[Rewarded Review] Great, affordable Chromebook!

It's no MacBook, obviously, but I think we all know that. You're buying this thing either because you need an affordable laptop for basic needs, because your kid wants a computer, you're already in the Google ecosystem, or some combination of the three. Regardless of your reason, this thing surprised me. I can get my work done (thanks to my employer using web apps), do general browsing and even enjoy some music thanks to the decent sounding speaker! While I wouldn't try to edit photos with how meh the screen is, it still looks good enough to watch the occasional movie, so take from that what you will. Overall, this is a great value for the money -- ESPECIALLY if you can get it while it's on sale!

I thought I would benefit from the WALL that a Chromebook provides for those everyday times that I do things innocently - things THESE DAYS that you have to reconsider, that might put me at risk for hacking.I've done a LOT of new protocols over the last couple of years, that include using ONE TIME USE apps for using my credit/debit cards, and have changed to encrypted emails and such.In reading about the superior built in protection of Chromebooks - added to the low entry price for buying one - I started to think that using this might add a good layer of protection to keep my more costly working devices safer and protected.With this device I've set up new email - from GMAIL since a CHROMEBOOK is a Google connected device plus an encrypted email too. I now can send email to myself if it is from someone I don't know - but that looks interesting - so that I don't risk opening them on my other devices.I mean, even AT&T and other large companies are reporting being hacked these days. You just can't be too careful.What is impressive is the Chrome Friendly apps that practically function like actual programs!This particular Chromebook also has a GOOD number of ports! 1) HDMI, 1) USB-C and 2) USB-A ports.It's lightweight and small.It has 4 CPU quad core (2 more than the Samsung) while the Samsung has a slightly larger screen, higher resolution and fewer CPU quad cores. Meh. I see the HP at so much less money, as the better choice right now. If it was reversed I'd have bought the Samsung and :) would have justified that purchase if it cost less.In doing a bit of light research I found that HP and Samsung were most recommended as "better Chromebooks" than some other brands. The deciding factor for me was - in this instance that while both - brand new - have a base price of $300 the HP was nearly half price while the Samsung only had $18 off at the time I was ready to buy.This chromebook is still new for me, but in the couple of days I've had it, I am - so far - loving the feel of it.These days with hackers just getting better and better I'm hoping that this gives me a tool I need to keep my information and my valued other devices more protected.I'll have to come back a few months later and update the review when I see how it works for me over time. It is looking GREAT so far!If you are considering it, go for it!I just ordered a translucent colored protective case for it too!
