I have been using HP printers for a quarter century now and have been using their Laserjet printers for around 20 years of that time and I have come to trust the performance, ease of use, and print quality of HP's printer line, and I am highly impressed with the Laserjet Pro 3301fdw! Simply entering my wifi credentials connected the printer, and it showed on the network immediately without issue. I first installed the printer on my android phone using the HP Smart app. Install was almost immediate and I was quickly able to test print. I next installed the printer on a Windows 11 desktop, two Windows 11 laptops, and a Windows 10 laptop, all installs were fast and easy using the HP Smart app on each. All that was needed was to install the app on the Windows devices, in my case the app was already installed, and hit "add new printer". The app found the printer within a few seconds, choose the printer and the installation completes. Once I verified the install on our devices I then accessed the printer setup and went about securing the printer and setting up the individual settings. You can skip this process but I highly suggest securing it and setting up scan to email and fax. The easiest way to update settings is to open a browser and type in the IP address of the printer to access the printers web server. From there the additional setup is a breeze.After the final setup I tested scan both flatbed and duplex. Scan was super quick as the 3301fdw will scan both sides of each page, should you choose, when scanning in batch mode and order the pages properly. All scans were crystal clear. Scan to email was quick and easy as was fax.Final word from me is that the Laserjet Pro 3301fdw is the epitome of what I have come to expect from HP printers and it's printer like the 3301fdw which will keep me coming back to HP for decades to come!

Trying to use Apple AirPrint over Wi-Fi only worked half the times I attempted.2.While I assume most people have their printers on top of a desk or table, with a small office we usually have ours on the floor. It would be nice if the bottom was flat enough that it could be placed on the floor without impeding the paper drawer.3.After testing printing some labels, I’ve found that using the HP Smart app sometimes slightly resizes a document. It isn’t a huge issue until printing things like labels that need to be centered, but it is a bit annoying.4.Setting up the printer to my HP Smart Account (which I already use with another printer) was a PAIN. The printer shows on my app and can print, but when I login in HP Smart online to set up the Instant Ink subscription it did not show up as a printer I owned. I spent FOUR HOURS trying to get it figured out, spent at least an hour of that on chat with customer service (which included being transferred from one agent to another), and only after multiple hard resets and re-setting up the printer several times was it able to show. Even after showing, it still hasn’t allowed me to do Instant Ink. It shows already enrolled, but it definitely has not been set up, and the subscription is only applying to our other printer.5.I was expecting to get at least 1000 pages before the ink cartridges needed replacing, but after ~500 the printer says they are all critically low. Considering the price of refills, I’m hoping a non-introductory cartridge will last longer.I would recommend this printer if you don’t rely on printing every single day. Overall the printer itself is good, but the software is lacking and needs improvement. The user experience for the app is mediocre and I want to just be able to print without being required to use an app— and while this doesn’t necessarily require it, the hassle of trying to print without the app is frustrating. The quick double sided printing and color accuracy really save the day and are the only reasons this will become my primary printer for home use.

So far I’m loving this all-in-one printer from HP. I’ll be honest, the box size was intimidating, and it’s definitely hefty, but it works perfectly in my small home office. It doesn’t take up much real estate on my filing cabinet and it looks professional and sleek. It has all the bells and whistles from a touch screen panel that’s easily navigable that moves up and down based on preference, a flatbed scanner up top and the option to scan using the top feeder as well. I don’t use the fax so I can’t speak to that but am a medium volume printer user and this one was so easy to set up and fully connect to my WiFi network. It literally took me 15 minutes to connect, install the app and wirelessly use it on all my Apple devices, iPad, iPhone and Mac Air. The quality of the prints are flawless, straight/positioned correctly and true color. The print quality is exceptional. From what I've read, this model is an upgrade to an earlier model. The printer is smaller than I expected and not much bigger than my previous inkjet, so it fit in my office perfectly. I was also surprised how intuitive and extremely easy it was to set up. This is my first laser printer so I was slightly intimidated at first, but it was actually very painless. After connecting to my wifi and updating the firmware, I tested some pages and immediately noticed that the color was off. I realized the Cyan color was not printing. I scanned the QR code on the instruction manual for support and was able to start a case number and connect with a live person via phone. When using the Copy feature, the resolution is also top notch. I used both the feeder and flatbed. The feeder can scan both sides at the same time which is a super cool feature. I did have one paper jam so far. The reproductions are crisp, and I would say they come out slightly more bold than the original (I believe this can be adjusted). Documents are very easy to print from my phone, and I can monitor the ink levels from my phone as well via the app. One thing I did realize is that the refill toner cartridges for this model are not cheap. It looks like a new one can last through a couple thousand pages, but the price of replacing all 4 cartridges at once is almost as much as the printer itself. I hope in time, HP can make these a little more affordable.I still have yet to explore more of its features, but overall, I am very impressed and pleased with this printer. As the box says, it's perfect for small businesses or a person who works from home and has a lot of printing needs. I can also see this color printer being good for a creative person who prints a lot for crafts and hobbies. As far as HP's customer service goes, I was equally impressed and relieved with how quickly I was able to speak to someone and resolve my initial issue, even on a Saturday. I received the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301fdw Wireless All-in-One Color Laser Printer, Scanner, Copier, Fax from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This printer is by far the best printer I have every had. I have used multiple other printers in large and small professional environments and none of them are as user friendly, quick and produce the high quality products that this printer did.Setup was extremely easy, from the time I opened the box to the time I printed my first page was less than 10 minutes. All I needed to do was plug it in, remove some protective wrap, then follow the prompts for a few minutes. No need to install toner or do any complex tasks.I absolutely loved the fact that there was an HP video, which shows you exactly what to do to set it up. The touch screen on the printer makes using its variety of functions easy. No need to grab the instruction manual, since the screen walks you through every step with clear visuals and descriptions.After connecting the printer to my wifi, I sent documents to the printer from my phone and computer. Both were done quickly and quietly with no issues. I scanned birth certificates and was pleased with their excellent quality. I also did a project for the kids. Instead of bringing their bulky toys and action figures on our trip, I printed them on cardstock. The colors were vibrant and crisp. I haven't tried to fax anything and doubt I will need that feature, but I appreciate the function as an option, should I need it in future.My only issue occured when I tried to print 4x6 photos on it. For some reason, the photo paper kept jamming. I tried both tray 1 and tray 2, but I could not get it to feed without jamming.My whole family is impressed by the printer. It will be so nice being able to print curriculum and activities from home rather than sending it out to be printed for me. I would recommend this printer to anyone who likes high quality and speed!
