I really enjoy having this printer at home, as it's far better than my laser printer which would take an age to power on, then it was Ethernet connection etc. I am happy that all I need to do is turn on the printer, it automatically connects to my home WiFi. Within a minute it's printed. So so quick. Also the scanner on this printer is excellent so quick and efficient and the scanner quality is great. I bought this printer last year, I didn't have a huge budget so I thought this might just have to do. It is impossible to EVER understand what's wrong with it, the HP app tells you nothing about how to fix any of its issues. Printer head alignment? You bet you'll have issues. Does the app tell you how to fix it? Absolutely not. Half the time my printer is 'offline' (even though it is on and the wifi symbol lights up) or asleep. I absolutely do not recommend this product. You basically will never be able to print anything from home. Printing and carrying out printer maintenance on this printer is a mix of good fortune, turning it on and off again and crossing all your fingers at once and you are probably going to waste half your ink printing test pages trying to fix ... MoreI bought this printer last year, I didn't have a huge budget so I thought this might just have to do. I did the set up from my phone (I did have to download two apps) and it only struggled to connect when I was having low internet signal. I like the ease of printing straight from my phone and having a preview of what the image will look like. At first I used a very thin paper and even then the quality was great, considering how thin it was. I then tried with a thicker photo paper and it was perfect for printing photos. The scan and copy feature was simple to use and will be very useful for work. The connectivity is something I have had a few issues with but have put that down to my own personal internet speed from my router. I would definitely recommend this printer, especially for someone wanting to print mainly from their phone. It light to move around and it's too large so fits easily into my office. Having dealt with a lot of temperamental printers in the past I am glad to say this printer has worked consistently each time I've needed it. I also love the HP instant ink, i don't need to go out and search for the ink in store and I know I will have some in the house, also the return packaging for the used ink is very useful too. Which I will definitely continue to use, however I don't usually leave my printer on, and the subscription cannot work unless it connects to the printer, this is something to bear in mind when choosing instant ink which I need to remember. Otherwise it's a great option to have as I don't need to worry about having ink in my flat.

Great Scanner for the price. HP Inst Ink is great
11 October 2021

The set up isnt great and I can see why people wander off the beaten track. The key is to download the HP Smart App and follow instructions from there. Dont try and do it via the website. Once done, it is a solid printer and the auto scanner at this price makes it worthy of consideration. The instant ink is great. You should sign up to get the free months which will in turn get you 2 new cartridges which you will soon need because the ones in the box only have a modest amount of ink in them. They will get you up and printing, but dont expect them to hang around. Use code msprxq to get an additional three months and then code FREEINK for a further month after that (disclosure, I also get a free month with the code). During that time set your tarrif to the highest available because there is no charge and unsused pages roll over which will be like another free month at the end of the trial. By that time you will have a good idea of your usage and if HP Ink is for you. Best or luck....

Great partner for home office
21 September 2021

I wanted to buy an all in one printer because I just started to work from home, and it is very useful in any office based business. I choose the HP Deskjet, because I had so many HP products in the past and all of them lasted really long and the quality is great. Setup was easy, just had to follow the steps and voila, it was ready to use. First I tried the printing option, it is just perfect and quick. Copying is the same and the best thing is that I don't need any cables to attach as this uses wifi and you just need an app to your phone and you can start using it. Simple and great. You just need to plug in the power cable, download the app and setup the printer and ready to go. The colour is an extra, I like its white shape and size is just perfect for an office use, I can recommend it to but for everybody, even its a home or an office as this is useful and simple to use.

Great printer, but don't try to set it up using a phone!
16 October 2021

I was rather excited to get this unboxed and set up to replace our old faithful HP printer. I popped all the bits out of the box, followed the brief set up leaflet, got the ink installed easy enough, printed out the instructions, then started getting the WiFi connected. Advice from me is to use a computer, as doing this on my phone would not work, with multiple attempts through the app being fruitless, constant diversions to advanced settings through a web portal, and none of it would totally work. Finally gave up and tried on my laptop and the whole process was sorted on the first attempt! Once it's all set up it's great, printing wirelessly works flawlessly for us. The quality has been fine for everything we've asked of it (my daughter loves the fact that we can so easily print off new colouring pages for her from our phones!) We've signed up for the 6 month trial of Instant Ink, first lot has already been delivered, great idea as it means you really don't have to think about running out of ink at all. We're still debating whether or not to keep the subscription when the free trial runs out as our printing needs vary so much throughout the year. So yeah, on the whole, brilliant printer, just do the setup on your computer first!

HP Quality

I've previously owned HP Printers in the past but this little thing has been the best so far. I like it's sleeker design, compared to the bulkier ones, and I love how simple it is to use. I love that the colour printer can scan, print and copy. No need for lots of wires as it has Wifi. The setup was pretty simple and using the HP app makes it more simpler to use. The printing is quicker (5-10 pages per minute) to their previous versions and the quality of the photos are outstanding quality. The scanning is easy to use and it features an automatic feed tray for lots of scanning and you can scan two sided pages as well as two sided printing. It's set at a reasonable price and for what it can do, is very worth the amount paid. Terrible printer. Didn't even get setup
27 June 2022

2 hours later I'm returning it. Setup was excruciating. I have Google nest wifi and it took me ages to walk far from my house before I even managed to try detect the printer. Once in the app YOU are practically forced to sign up to some ink cartridge program. No. Not doing that. I then couldn't print as it comes with setup cartridges and these give you ZERO prints. They expect you to buy cartridges before you leave the store. Nope. Going back to canon PIXMA cheap option. Canon setup is way easier and you at least can print from a full set of cartridges out of the box. Don't touch this one.

Works well with my iMac
5 June 2022

Bought this printer to replace my failed HP printer; failed after well over 10 years use, so I'm hoping for similar longevity for this one. Simple to install, use, good print speed, not noisy and replacement print cartridges are reasonably priced. It prints to cheapskate 75gsm paper with no problem. It works fine with my iMac and my iPhone. During installation, HP had 9 attempts at getting me to divulge personal information, quite subtly at times. Clever marketing, but unwelcome.
