I'm an occasional printer user. I do not have to print often but sometimes my girlfriend needs to print at once a big batch of papers. After spending a lot of money on ink cartridges and living through painful days of having my inkjet printer ink nozzles dry up and require constant check-ups, especially after not being used for a few months, I decided to switch to Laser. No regrets - this printer prints very fast on both sides of paper. It was quick to connect to WiFi as well. I'm yet to replace my cartridge after almost 500 pages. This model is B&W only and doesn't include a scanner on top but for the price - it's totally worth it, unless you require these functions.

A larger cassette, which will hold a ream, is available as an option. On the other hand, graphics are not very good. Of course, not being in color makes graphics suffer, but there is a suggestion of jagginess in lines that should be smoother. One thing worries me, and that is the statement, `Dynamic security enabled printer.` From HP`s website, `Certain HP printers use cartridges that have security chips or electronic circuitry. Cartridges using a non-HP chip or modified or non-HP circuitry* may not work, and those that work today may not work in the future.` I`m not sure I accept the assumption that a specially crafted chip in a printer cartridge can insert malware into my network. While I know HP would prefer I buy their cartridges, that choice must be mine, and I expect to be able to disable that security `feature` if necessary.I remain a fan of all-in-one color printers, because when you need color, a scanner, or a fax machine, that`s what you need. But for sheer printing speed, this printer is hard to beat. I think it could easily serve as the workhorse printer for a workgroup, with a color all-in-one printer available to use as needed. I would not hesitate to recommend this printer.

There is no comparison between the HP and the Brother, the HP wins hands down. The superior build quality is evident immediatly when you open the HP box, everything fits better the toner cart fits much better and slides in more smoothly on the HP than the Brother and is much quieter when printing.Yes the HP is about twice the cost and the toner carts are more expensive, but you get what you pay for! You can buy quality once first off or you can go cheap and spend much more on multiple throw away printers. I am confident this printer will last much longer and print much better than the previous 2 printers it replaces. I am very pleased with my HP M404DW!

The delivery from BH and the printer's performance are outstanding. I always am satisfied with HP. One difficulty with initial setup though. There are three ways to have the printer recognized in your WiFi network. Unfortunately, I poked around in the printer's menu, then it could not be recognized even while the wifi indicator was flashing. I finally discovered that the printer goes into a special setup mode on initial power up. Depending on whether connecting by PC, phone, or USB cable to get to WiFi, it might be a problem. I discovered that by choosing the network reset to factory settings, I finally initialized to the mode needed. The setup software on the PC says if it is a laserjet, use the wifi setup wizard on the printer's menu but there is no such menu ... MoreThe delivery from BH and the printer's performance are outstanding. One cartridge can provide up t0 4,000 monthly pages. The HP Laser pro is an Energy Star certified product offering energy efficiency, which greatly meets my quality expectations being so important in these days in time with so many gadgets around my home always in use, making life much easier :) I would definitely recommend this product to my family and friends for its easy set-up making it very kid friendly and perfect for home office needs or for about just anyone because of it`s quick and excellent quality results. *I wish it did include the USB cord for a more convenient set-up, but I had a couple extras around the house, so I didn`t necessarily have an issue with it. Overall I have been enjoying its very much for personal and especially for work use.
This is a really nice and simple black and white printer that does its job without any issues so far. This is the second HP I have bought and I will continue to buy hp printers. My family needed a reliable no frills printer and this one has served us well. I have had this printer for over a year and have not had any issues. The air print makes this printer easy for everyone to use. Setup was super easy.
HP PRINTER I really like my new HP LaserJet Pro Printer. It came at the perfect time too since our HP OfficeJet recently stopped working. I never knew how much more I was going to like the LaserJet compared to the OfficeJet. The laser jet is much faster and prints effortlessly. This printer was simple to set up and I had it printing in just a few minutes. It doesn`t come with a installation disk for your PC which I would have preferred since every time I would go to the provided link I kept being redirected to other sites to help you install it but then they charge you for it too? Having a disk prevents that from happening and when I went to HP directly to look for it to install I couldn`t even find it but back to the printer i now have installed and working on all ... MoreHP PRINTER I really like my new HP LaserJet Pro Printer. Having a disk prevents that from happening and when I went to HP directly to look for it to install I couldn`t even find it but back to the printer i now have installed and working on all my devices. This printer is great for my home office since I do print a lot. It has a large paper tray so I don`t have to keep refilling it often and it`s designed to let you focus your time where it`s most needed. It can print double sided to keep you from wasting paper and it wakes up and prints suited with embedded security features to protect your printer from attacks and secures confidential information with optional pin/pull printing. It`s a very simple and uncomplicated printer and is super efficient. Now this only prints in black and white which is a bummer since I do use color every now and then but it connected easily to my WiFi and popped right up when I opened my HP ePrint and HP Smart apps from my other devices. I like how it prints and and the sleek design gives it a nice look. Overall I really like this printer and now would like to see how well the color version is. I always buy HP printers but I`ll definitely be sticking with the OfficeJets now. I received this product as part of a free sampling program, all opinions are 100% my own.
I had an old HP printer that I needed to upgrade. I decided to try a brother printer because I heard good things. I bought the l2375dw. Bought it home all the pages were faded, I tried looking up fixes and it told me to download an app that didn’t work on Mac. The told me to change settings that weren’t available. I’ve had situations in the past that taught me that is a piece of tech is hard and problematic at the start just forget it take it back it’s no good. I took it straight back and got this HP. Easy to setup, Awesome features and just quality all round. This printer is a hit I use it both usb wired and wireless. Don’t waste your time with cheap crap. Get this and save yourself lots of anguish.
I have worked in the IT industry for over 17 years (and even longer as the "family computer guy") and have come across a multitude of printers: Canon, Lexmark, Epson, Brother, Konica, HP, Ricoh, and all have their Pros and Cons. One thing is common, however: HP is the most widely used in the business world and for good reasons! So, how does this monochrome (black and white-only printing) HP LJ Pro M404dw fare? Pretty well!PROS- Crisp, sharp print quality for text and graphics- Fast print speed (up to 40 ppm)- Compact, sturdy, and professional looking- Printing options: WiFi, WiFi Direct (device directly connected to printer), Ethernet wired network,or USB cable printing. M404dn model lacks the WiFi/WiFi Direct options- Can print directly from mobile devices (both Android and Apple iOS) either through the HP Smart app or from other apps that support mobile printing- Easy WiFi configuration by downloading the HP Smart app (Apple iOS/Android)- Duplex printing (prints on both sides) for supported sizes (letter, legal, executive, etc)- Advanced network and security configuration available (partially through the HP Smart app, and completely through a web browser interface)- Tray 1 opens on the front for checks/envelopes/manual feeding- Tray 2 holds paper for 250-sheet feeding, and a Tray 3 can be purchased- Works with HP 550-sheet feeder tray D9P29A- HP Smart app effortlessly detected the printer, guiding you through configuration, usage, and provides statistical data- Came with USB cable- AirPrint: Apple Mac compatible- Google Cloud Print compatible (to set up, the printer will waste 2 sheets: one with instructions and another to confirm setup was completed)- Extended replacement toner available for VERY high capacity printing- Quiet mode (prints more quietly at the expense of speed), though I did not find the normal mode to be noisy- Configurable, automatic power on/off/sleep modes- Fairly light weight at 19 lbsCONS- Replacement toners are EXPENSIVE (HP 58A 3,000-pg capacity and HP 58X 10,000-pg capacity)- Did not include a network/Ethernet cableTIPS- The software to download for Windows and Mac OS is "HP Easy Start" which you can grab from HP's website- The software to use on mobile devices (Apple iOS/Android) is "HP Smart"- You can access the full, complete printer configuration by finding the IP address on the printer (or through the HP apps) and typing it into your web browserOverall, as with most HP printers, this is a quality, business-class product with the speed and sharpness the LaserJet Pro series is known for. I prefer the HP M404dw (WiFi) model (which costs $50 - $100 more) over the HP M404dn (USB/wired network) for its versatility of not having to be wired to the network, but the HP M404dn (USB/wired network) model is still a good purchase, especially at the current $219 price.
First, let me say that the printer produces clear, clean printouts fairly quickly. I am impressed that it accepts multiple paper sizes. The printer seems solidly built, and arrived with toner already installed, so there was very little required in the way of setup. However, I found myself frustrated and disappointed on a number of counts.1. The only `documentation` provided is a `Getting Started Guide`. Item 4 explicitly says `Note: Do not connect the USB cable until you are prompted to do so.` I followed setup Method 1, clicked Download, saved the file, and launched the software. Followed onscreen instructions to install the software, which said to check for power and toner installation, clicked `continue` at which point it said something like `Ooops! Followed onscreen instructions to install the software, which said to check for power and toner installation, clicked `continue` at which point it said something like `Ooops! Couldn`t find printer. Do you want to install wirelessly?` Of course it couldn`t find the printer it wasn`t yet connected because I was following instructions.2. Installation instructions (once connected) included a long sidetrip to install software for Wi-Fi Direct for printing from other devices (smartphone, tablet, laptop). Then, at the last step it spent a long time `connecting` to the printer (progress bar got to about 99% where it hung for a long time). I finally gave up, had to use Windows Task Manager to terminate.3. Later, I attempted to follow instructions for printing directly from an Android device. I eventually concluded that despite all indications in the so-called documentation to the contrary, this printer has no Wi-Fi capability.4. On the box, the printer is described as having `automatic two-sided printing`. I have searched in vain for how to use such a feature, and have concluded that what is meant by this is that the display will tell me when to flip over and re-submit a page to print a second side. That is not `automatic`. That is manual.5. The installation process creates a desktop shortcut called HP Printer Assistant, which brings up a menu of selectable icons. Among them the HP Device Toolbox doesn`t exist (clicking on it produces another of those interminable timers) and the Print From Your Mobile Devices lies (see item 3, above). So, unless and until the accompanying `documentation` and installation procedures are modified to actually align with this printer`s capabilities, I would not recommend it to anyone I actually like.
