HP ProBook 455 G8 15.6 R5-5600u/8gb/512gb SSD Laptop Clear UK QWERTY

We had 2 versions of this computer (the initial and a replacement) and both had significant issues - would freeze when doing simple operations like opening a blank word document and opening up internet.Would not get this model! Note i would give this model a 1 star, but as not purchased online and I don't have a online login, I cant give less that 3 stars!PB Tech have been good to deal with to resolve, firstly offered a replacement and then with the 2nd problem they offered a refund or credit note.

After a bumpy start with a couple of laptops from PBTech that were wrongly specified for my needs, I finally landed on this laptop from HP. A key component for my requirements is USB-C with power and video. This is a must have feature if you are running a separate monitor and in my case i have the Dell P3421WM Monitor (one minor drawback with this monitor, it does not have speakers. Its not an issue for me as a I run a Jabra 510) as I need the power form the monitor to run my laptop and feed video, plus I have a separate PC plugged into the monitor. This provides effortless switching between the laptop and PC. Once you connect a USB dongle keyboard and mouse to the screen it all switches perfectly. PB Tech Glenfield (shout out to Tomma) did a great job in rectifying and I now have a flawless system.Would I buy this product again? Absolutely, except I would buy either the 16GB or 32GB model. Once I have multiple windows open and running .ppt sessions over Zoom, it can stress the CPU and Memory a bit. I'll likely upgrade the RAM at some stage. I highly recommend PBTech Glenfield over any of there other stores and if you can find Tomma to help you then do as he was great.

Fast startup, mostly very quiet. IR camera is very useful for easy logins. Keyboard is great, touchpad is responsive. Overall very good laptop. My unit only has 8gb of ram, but it can be upgraded if needed which was one of the reason to choose this over models with onboard ram,

I really hate this laptop. I think it is probably my fault as I bought a ProBook thinking that would be perfect for my work needs, but it is horrible. The second time I signed in I got locked on a weird login screen- in turns out it was a security feature that required double log in to access. Since I got past that, and deactivated that feature, my laptop has been very very slow. Takes 15 mins to do something that should only take 2 mins. I have not downloaded any software other than MS Office 365.

Disappointed

Cons:- In-spite of being a lightweight portable laptop, its screen is absolutely useless in all but a dark room. This kind of defeating of the purpose I bought it for.- The casing is flimsy, such that it actually bends irrecoverably out of shape by opening the lid from the center.- Wireless drivers are unstable out of the box and require replacing.- Battery life is disappointing... 5sh hours.Pros:- I am really liking the Ryzen CPU, coming from an older i7.- Usable speakers- Better keyboard than I expected.Verdict: Debating a return but I'll probably live (indoors) with it for a year.

HP 15.6 Pro Book 455 G9 Laptop Review

After many other attempts to get a reliable Laptop Computer from other manufacturers I finally gave HP a try. B&H had offered the computer as a New Item and I ordered it not knowing what to expect. HP's estimated arrival time was in the fall so I waited. But much to my surprise it was delivered about 2 weeks ago. It is an awesome machine for this price class. And as usual B&H had come through with the product much earlier than expected. I'm very happy with the outstanding service B&H has provided me for many years now. They always come through on what they promise. Thanks B&H!! I would absolutely purchase this product again.Sincerely, a satisfied customer.

Nice solid piece of kit

Bought this Laptop for my personal use as I transition from my sabbatical back into work. Like most Computers it's use revolves more around the software and apps than it does the machine itself, in the main. However you want it to be flexible and responsive, along with being easy to use. This laptop is. Combined with my Microsoft 365 account it is pretty much ideal.

Works well for a business laptop

I have a few criteria for a business laptop, and this one hits all of them. It has a mix of ports - usb-c, usb-a, HDMI, and it's a 15 screen. We do have those who like them small, light 14 laptops, but for our standard office staff they need the larger number pad, ports, and a monitor output.It comes with Windows Pro, which saves me the extra $100 to upgrade it, since we require an office365 sign-in and Bitlocker.Last, it's really easy to upgrade with only a few screws in the back and the M.2 and Memory is all accessible.

super great value

This is a slightly scaled down version of the ones sold on Amazon but it is a much better value. I search deals for a living and this was one of the best I've found in a while. Compared on several different sites. Even if you add a RAM module to increase RAM to 16GB, the price is still the best.
