Huion GS1331 Kamvas 13 (without Stand) Cosmo Black

This is my first drawing tablet, so I might not have the best reference.Bu I think this is quite good value for money.Quality looks really good.I am using it with the cgi software blender on a linux (manjaro) system and it works really well.Installation was plug and play: You connect via the included HDMI and usb cable and it gets recognised as a second monitor. You then drag blender or your favourite drawing software there and of you go (there are some good youtube videos for more setup tipps).This tablet does not react to your finger/ hand touching which makes certain things easier. But on the other side using the hand for pan and zoom probably would have been more intuitive (especially for my son) rather than using the pen while holding a button.There are Tablets which can do finger touch as well, but they are more expensive I think.About buttons: The extra buttons on the tablet can be configured freely which is quite useful because: What ever software you use.. when working with a mouse you you need the keyboard in addition for e.g. zooming (like pressing ctrl and scrolling with the mouse wheel). This applies to using tablet and pen as well. It eases your live a lot to bind those keyboard strokes to the tablet buttons.Overall: Quite happy so far.

I'm pretty miffed to learn only upon opening the box that the user manual is online only, (it's pretty lacking in instructions and feels poorly translated to boot) as it was only after downloading and reading through it that I realised that the included 3-in-1 cable does not have a USB-C attachment; indeed, I have to buy a proprietary USB-C to USB-C cable separately to even use this tablet. It does not function standalone, which I expected, but as my desktop PC only has a single HDMI port which is used for the monitor, I must purchase the separate 40 dollar cable just to connect it to my computer or android device, meaning I have about 2 more weeks to wait to even test this thing out. It appears the only way to use the Kamvas 13 as purchased is either to own certain kinds of laptop computers with a built in HDMI port; or to purchase a peripheral HDMI adaptor to use with your computer.It also does not come with it's own power adaptor, and you will need to purchase or already own a decent quality USB adaptor to even turn the screen on.Though the description of the item on the site mentions the USB-C cable several times, it does little to nothing to show that this is not one of the 3-in-1 cables connections, two of which are very similar USB's, and you could be forgiven for mistaking said 3-in-1 or even the included USB extension for the USB-C connection, as the marketing seems to infer the USB-C comes with the tablet.On the plus side, the included donut style stand for the pen comes with 8 replacement nibs, meaning the pen should have a decent lifespan before requiring newer nibs to be purchased, and it also comes with a two-finger digital artists glove that appears to be one size fits all.I cannot tell if I got a good deal for the price I paid; I literally cannot yet use the tablet. As it stands, I cannot give a review of the functionality of the product for at least 2 more weeks, as I will have to purchase a separate cable and wait for it to be shipped before I can even power it on. I will update my review accordingly when I have acquired the cable.

Performance:GoodMy first display drawing tablet and I'm happy with the purchase so far! My 2nd tablet from Huion, performance wise so far so good in terms of sensitivity, ease of setup, color. Screen will feel warm after long use so best to draw with the provided glove on. Hope to make good use of it with my Clip Studio Paint program!

Good tablet so far

It took me a while to figure out how to use the 3 in 1 cord with my laptop. I had a usb adapter for the red power cord. Once I plugged that in, my pen could draw in the Embrilliance software without lagging. I guess my new laptop wasn't giving enough power even though I have it plugged in. I really want the full featured usb-c to usb-c, but I can't find one that fits and long enough. I need at least 6 ft so I can connect to my desktop. I don't like that the USB-C to USB-C is $30 , not included with the device, and not long enough. I also don't like the fact that I can't find a cord that works, longer, and not as expensive.

Great device slight problems

Really phenomenal device and totally accomplishes everything I needed. Only complaints are that the device inputs are too small to fit a standard usb c cable. I had to brutalize one to make it fit. Secondly the colors of the monitor are incorrect. I have a second monitor on my computer specializing in color accuracy for video coloring and this huion tablet definitely displays color inaccurately. However that is a small price to pay for a well functioning tablet like this. Really very solid.

Really wanted to like it.

LOTS of favorable reviews out there - which puzzles me.The drivers are a constant headache. If you enjoy installing, uninstalling, re-installing, rebooting, installing, uninstalling, re-installing, rebooting, installing, uninstalling, re-installing, rebooting this tablet is for you.Huion product support has gotten better but their fix for the awful drivers is... installing, uninstalling, re-installing, reboot, installing, uninstalling, re-installing, reboot. If these headaches are something you enjoy this tablet is for you. Otherwise get a WACOM, it costs more but will save you time and frustration.

The directions that come in the box are pretty much useless. But luckily, there are plenty of YouTubers that have made videos about unboxing and setting up this drawing tablet. The only thing it does not come with Is A C type to C type chord to connnect the drawing tablet to a phone. You cannot use just any cord. You will need to purchase the proper one from the website or Amazon or something. And of course, a charging block isn't included for some reason, but other than that. It's a really great drawing tablet, It's very large and not too difficult to figure out all of the options. Notes:- This is not a standalone device, it needs to be coupled to another device- Requires driver software from Huion- Requires 1 HDMI, 2 USBs (one for power and the other for inputs) a 3-in-1 cable is included for this- Requires Drawing software of your choice (I just mean that they don't provide one, I've gotten it to work flawlessly in Krita and Blender)Feels smooth and comfortable to draw on, pressure sensitivity has a nice range, configurable to preference.also played games on it, using it as a sort of monitor, looks great (and it's 60hz which makes sense).
