Hydro Flask 32oz Wide Mouth Flex Straw Cap Bottle in Cascade

There are so many things to like about this water bottle: excellent portability, essentially spill proof (even for me!), keeps my ice water cold for hours, and it can go in the dishwasher (I won’t buy a water bottle that can’t go in there.The only downside is washing the cap. I knew I would need to handwash the straw as I do all of my reusable steel straws, but taking the cap apart to wash it decently is a “thing” for this neurospicy woman. I have to remember to pull out the red rubber thingy before I even start or I can’t get it out, then I have to scrub it with my dish brush, my straw brush, and this other funky little brush that fits in that tight space that screws onto the bottle itself. I’ve seen over the years as Hydroflask came out with new designs and modifications to the mouth and lids of their bottles and honestly I always found them quite ugly. I clung closely to my 2017 edition wide mouth, glad I would never have to make the change. Yet last month, I tragically left it behind in a university classroom and was unable to find it again. I searched for old stock of that same 2017 design and found some on Ebay but after watching some reviews about the new Flex Straw Cap design, I gave in. And I am soooo happy that I upgraded to the new tech! And I am soooo happy that I upgraded to the new tech! The new straw cap it so much easier to clean (it comes apart so you can get into every nook and cranny), the mouthpiece locks into place so you can feel that it is absolutely secure before throwing it in your bag and the additional handle make it so much easier to take on walks or to the gym. The muted Oat color I got is also so lovely and goes perfectly with my now more neutral/monochrome style. I hope to cherish this bottle for many years!

First I have to say I love Hydro Flask! I have several customized bottles also some of the “glassware” items. I was so disappointed when I received this latest order because my name that was custom engraved on the bottle was off center. My other bottles with my name are perfectly centered. With this new bottle, I can’t put a boot on as it sadly covers part of my name. I am now hesitant in placing any future orders.
