Hyperice Hypervolt Plus Percussion Massage Device

I love this for myofacial release. I use it after a workout to help ease potential DOMS. It definitely gets the blood flowing and helps circulation. A little on the pricey side but worth it for a very powerful motor. Green light means it is fully charged, and it will slowly turn from green, to orange, to red as the battery drains. I charge it about once a week with moderate use, and it is fully charged within 1-2 hrs max. There are three speeds, and you can increase the pressure which will light up the pressure indicator on the back of the gun. It comes with 5 attachments, all designed for different muscle groups. I find that the lowest setting is usually more than enough.

Defects in operation and charging

So I had to buy this twice. First time I ordered it I received a machine that would suddenly stop working as soon as you started it up. I took it back immediately and got a refund. I figured it was just a defective item.I ordered another figuring okay this one will be better. I’ve used it a handful of times and now all of a sudden it’s not charging. I’ve switched it around to multiple outlets and still no change in its charge.It’s a great machine when it’s actually working and charging properly, but to pay so much for something so temperamental is really ridiculous. If you’re going to have people pay top dollar these defects need to be completely ironed out otherwise it just seems like a half-baked product that you’re offering people. I had been following this product (and others like it) for the last few years and finally decided to make the purchase.One month into using it, and I am very pleased. I lift weights often, and while I’m not a power lifter, I enjoy lifting heavy and that usually comes with a good amount of tightness in several problem areas. Incredibly effective and powerful

I've had it for about a month. I got it primarily to break down muscle knots in my back, neck and chest. I also use it on my gluts and legs to a lesser degree. It's super powerful on power level 1 of 3 and reasonably quiet. I get a deep tissue massage a couple times a month when there's not a pandemic occurring and almost no level of pressure is too much in a massage but power level 3 would be too much for me. When using it on my neck it scrambles my brain a bit, at least for me, that's how powerful it is. I'm a chiropractor who uses a DMS massage device in my clinic several hours per day. After 10 years of continuous use it needed service so I brought in the Hypervolt to replace it while being repaired. I ended up using this device for 2 months straight in the clinic with no problem at all which is an absolute testament to it's durability, battery life and functionality. Glad to have it as a backup and my primary massage device for home use. Won't regret purchasing the Hypervolt.

Due to my size I typically tail off a little bit around games 3 or 4 (which still happens) but I'm impressed with my overall improved play and health (recovered injuries).If you haven't used a percussion massager it's generally not a relaxing experience but what it does is simply magic when it comes to muscle recovery.Last note, I gave it 5 stars which it is but I saw another reviewer talked about the binding issue (and high pitch whine) and I experienced this exact problem (matter of fact the unit was loud as well) so I contacted Hyperice and they sent me a brand new unit so there might be some quality control issues but overall you won't be disappointed with this unit.

Very powerful, but questionable design choices

This unit's strength is its strength. You can shove down with all your might and it won't stall or bounce around.But, after a year's use I have these thoughts:1) the push-in attachments can go flying--relying on friction is a poor design choice.2) the battery attaches with a lightly spring-loaded clip. After one year, no surprise, mine pops out randomly so the machine goes dead.3) having the battery be the handle is a fine concept, but the natural way to hold it is with one's hand overlapping the battery junction. And since the connection between them isn't rock-solid that means you can get pinched, or have the uncomfortable sensation of holding something that's wiggling.4) I don't get the choice of a 90 degree angle between handle and drive. Slide a tiny, 1950's era switch on the bottom of the battery first, then press an invisible black button on the back. To turn it off while it's vibrating, good luck applying steady pressure to that black button. You'll end up turning off the battery instead, and then having to repeat the procedure to turn it back on. How about a simple dial: 0, 1, 2, 3? Located on the least vibrating part of the machine please?Don't get me wrong--it works--and unless they're meanies I assume they'll fix or replace my battery popping problem. But I simply can't understand what they were thinking when it comes to ease of use, ergonomics, and comfort.

Ironically, I broke my hip in a mtb accident almost 2 months ago, and for the first time in my life I just started Physical Therapy. My Physical Therapist uses the Hyperice on during our sessions. He also has the Theragun but prefers the Hyperice as he can converse with his patients while using it!But it's not just my saying I feel good after using it. There are also studies which show the many benefits of Vibration Therapy. In a study called “To Compare the Effect of Vibration Therapy and Massage in Prevention of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)” the result was that muscle soreness was reported to be significantly less for the experimental (vibration and massage) group as compared to the control group at 24, 48, and 72 hours of post-exercise.According to an article on Healthline, “When the vibrations are transmitted to your body, they cause your muscles to contract and relax. Certain types of vibrations may also cause your body to produce more osteoblasts.
