Awesome Keyboard. HyperX

I bought this keyboard for gaming and general typing. I really like how the keys feel and that the keys are clearly labeled. The F & J keys have a good "ridge" on them, no guessing if I've got my hands in the right position for typing. The layout of the keys and the control buttons for the lights and sound are really good as I can make changes without looking at the keyboard. The RGB Lighting is an awesome bonus as the background light colors can be changed or turned off. (I routinely change the colors for fun.) The keyboard has a good weight to it and won't slide around during use. I highly recommend this keyboard.

I was looking for a lighted keyboard to help me with my fading vision. I like the customizable lighting feature very much. I love the standard layout of the full-size keyboard: nothing to learn anew. But they're missing an opportunity to really serve the senior citizens and others with low vision: the letters, numbers, and symbols should be as large as possible to fit on the keys. When I'm able to touch type, I don't need the lighted keyboard at all; when I'm struggling and need to check what I'm typing, I need the symbols LARGE.On the other hand, if the manufacturer does offer such a keyboard, and Best Buy doesn't offer it, then Best Buy is missing an opportunity to serve their senior customers.

This keyboard will truly surprise you. I'm coming from a mechanical keyboard for which I paid roughly 6x the price of this keyboard. The main reason I wanted to go away from mechanical was because I've been working from home for the past year (like many people) and have to attend a lot of meetings online. The mechanical keyboard was quite loud even with the silver switch and I would get really conscious typing on it while talking with other people. So, I was looking for a keyboard that would still have somewhat of that mechanical feel but would be quieter. I first tried as many mechanical keyboards that I could get my hands on at the store but then I saw this on the side and started typing. This was the one I was looking for.I got this and can tell you that it feels awesome to type on. It is better than my $180 corsair keyboard (to type on). The RGB lighting on this unit is excellent as well and although it's not up there with corsair, I don't really miss anything. For gamers out there, I know a lot of you are looking for mechanical keyboards because that's the default now for gaming, but I urge you to try this. I haven't felt any difference in gaming with this and I can't help but think that I was probably needlessly spending money going after mechanical keyboards for the past decade because I play games occasionally.Anyway, mechanical or not, this is a fantastic all purpose keyboard. Good for typing, good for gaming, and fantastic RGB which lets me dim the lights at night. Give it a shot.

Great value And good quality
10 February 2023

Overall a good build quality at affordable price. Does have the occasional missed keystroke or ghosting. The lighting is great and bright and nicely customizable, but looking at the keyboard from certain angles make the characters difficult to read as the diffusion at the top level of the key is very translucent. Sound of the keys is light and dull enough that it won’t bother others on the room or be intrusive on your audio if you are on a call or streaming. Feet at super grippy, this thing isn’t going anywhere unless you pick it up fully. In general I would strongly recommend this for anyone, the few issues I have noticed will not affect the average consumer.

I recommend this. I like it more than my Razer.
29 October 2022

I love it. I bought it to replace a razer that was giving me trouble, the razer was a little over a year old. This has beautiful lighting, is still easily programable, still has on board sound controls, and has a much more traditional layout of things like the window and control keys which is important to people like me who have used keyboards with the control and window and shift keys in the same place forever. Also, on the razer, the key markers wore off EARLY into the purchase, which wasn't a big enough problem to make me trade it out since I am touch typist, but ....I love this one more. It Was Great Until It Died

I'm forced to give this the lowest score, as the keyboard began to decline and ultimately stopped working (purchased in April of 2021, began malfunctioning in July 2022, and gave up the ghost in Aug 2nd, last night as of this writing). They keyboard's cable, which is built with a nice, tough woven cover, wound up developing a kink towards the head of the USB cable, and no amount of external cable management tools I used seemed to be able to prevent it.While it worked, it was wonderful... weighty, great color options, and a good clickity clack when writing or coding.I should have purchased the plan on it I guess, I just didn't expect a keyboard to go bad on me so fast.Regardless, I got what is supposed to be a "better" keyboard last night, and it has some ... MoreI'm forced to give this the lowest score, as the keyboard began to decline and ultimately stopped working (purchased in April of 2021, began malfunctioning in July 2022, and gave up the ghost in Aug 2nd, last night as of this writing). They keyboard's cable, which is built with a nice, tough woven cover, wound up developing a kink towards the head of the USB cable, and no amount of external cable management tools I used seemed to be able to prevent it.While it worked, it was wonderful... weighty, great color options, and a good clickity clack when writing or coding.I should have purchased the plan on it I guess, I just didn't expect a keyboard to go bad on me so fast.Regardless, I got what is supposed to be a "better" keyboard last night, and it has some options that are truly better for not that much more money. Soft, silent, intuitive, value RGB keyboard!
23 October 2021

Got this keyboard after my Tecware Spectre Pro RGB Keyboard because I couldn't stand it.The keys on the keyboard feel really soft and aren't tall. I noticed I make much less mistypes because of the shorter height and the softer, stickier material the keys are made out of. I can't emphasize enough that the noise is very silent compared to mechanical keyboards. Instead of hearing that annoying in-your-face "clicking and clacking" sound from mechanical keyboards you hear a light "thump" and much more suppressed "clack" which is far more tolerant to hear if you're more noise conscious. No software! No need to worry about any intrusive privacy policies and etc! While you can't program every single key, there are plenty of modes that you can customize sections of the keyboard to 9 different colors in the "5 zone" mode and for other modes you can adjust the speeds. It feels like you get more than enough options to be happy. If you are looking for the absolute most detailed key-by-key RGB configurations than this keyboard isn't for you. However, if you like basic to intermediate RGB modes and customization than this keyboard is for you. The RGB configuration is very intuitive and easy to setup. The two top left keys control brightness/turn off RGB and to adjust the RGB modes. You use Fn+ F1-F5 and Fn + arrow keys to do all the adjustments. One of the top three left keys has a "gamer mode" which disables the windows key so when you're in-game you don't accidentally interrupt your game from fat fingering the windows key. It replaces the scroll lock light which I think is more useful since when was the last time anyone cared to know if scroll lock was enabled lol.$50 goes A LONG WAY with this keyboard!!!

Sturdy solid backlit keyboard PERFECT for dim room
9 April 2022

My PC in my home office is located on a large corner desk. The electric lighting in the room is from a fan on the ceiling and a lamp by a reading chair. There is no good place for a lamp on the desk. I've been using the keyboard that came with my Dell PC. That keyboard suits my needs when working at my desk in the daytime since I can see the keyboard adequately with daylight from the windows. But in the evening and at night it is very difficult to see the keys. This backlit keyboard provided me with the perfect solution. Also during the day, I can see the keys better than before. I set the lighting to "solid" and set the color to white (for me white gives the best visibility among the 9 colors offered). For me, medium is just right whereas my wife prefers the brighter setting. The visibility of the lighted keys is great day or night. The keys have a very nice feel and are quiet. I'm using a UBS2 connection and have no whining noise as some who used UBS3 have reported. The keyboard is substantial, sturdy, and well made. I could not be more pleased. There are many backlit keyboards out there, but after researching the capabilities and reading reviews, the HyperX (owned by HP) was my overwhelming favorite choice. Many of the competitors -- most from companies that I've never heard of -- seemed to have flimsy builds, keys that stuck, keys that stopped working, keys where the coating wore off, lighting that was uneven and diminished over time, and other flaws. I highly recommend the HyperX. Since I am not a gamer, I cannot comment on its suitability for gaming, although the vast majority of reviewers give it five stars.

Very surprised with this keyboard!
15 August 2022

Got this keyboard for $25 on sale + members rewards, but even at full price this keyboard would be well worth the money! I previously used a Logitech keyboard that was over $100 and I can't see myself making the switch back. This keyboard is very comfortable to use and the keys are silent. It does not feel cheaply made despite the price. The only things that it doesn't have compared to my old keyboard is 1) an audio scroll wheel, which was so sensitive I hardly ever used it. And 2) the ability to set custom colors, but the built-in options on this one have you covered if that's your thing.Definitely recommend. :)
