Ive been using the Microsoft Xbox One headset for quite a while, which had good sound but the mic was a little short, making it difficult for my party to hear me unless I was shouting. Decided to upgrade, and after looking around, chose the Cloud Stinger over the other, more expensive although cheaper than Turtle Beach HyperX headsets.Sound quality is pretty good, although keep in mind its not Bose quality or Bose price. Bass is heavy, but not eardrum shattering. Mids and lows are clear and decently precise. I was able to hear much more than Im used to. Mic works better than expected, people I talk to say they can hear me just fine. One issue I noticed though is that the sound and chat gets cluttered up easily. But for that money, youre getting quality in the physical product and performance that rivals 100 headsets. If you need the better sound, spend the money. Trust me, youll be happier. But if just need a headset to keep from waking you small children on your latenight gaming binges like me, then youre going to be happy with this. And you wont be in the doghouse for spending the kids college funds to get it.

This was a HUGE deal to me as I sometimes wear the headphones for 10 hours straight. I simply connect the two and Im off to the races.Microphone is easily adjustable physically and stays where I put it. You will have to resort to trial and error to determine optimal placement of the microphone for the optimal pickup of your voice.Thats it ... buy them with the 2year Geek Squad warranty and you will not be disappointed.However, it is important to know that if you pass the 14day trial period and you did purchase the warranty, you can only exchange the headset three times. As I HIGHLY doubt youll get three bad units in a row it is important to know this. This applies to all Geek Squad warranties by the way ... three strikes and you are out.

I am not an audiophile by any means. As such, these do sound nice. Much better than my cheapo Turtle Beach from 8 years ago. It is comfortable to wear for long sessions, even more if I switch to the included soft fabric ear pads. Construction feels solid. The braided cable is sturdy feeling. The sound range feels good, it has bass but not in an amount that gets tiring to hear after a few minutes.As for the 7.1 Virtual Surround feature, Im not sold on that and actually prefer it to be off. It simulates the sound of sitting in a room with a lower quality surround sound system, mimicking reverberations and echoes off the walls of the room and making the sound source feel like it is a distance away. The 7.1 surround sound button is honestly just agimmick in my opinion. Its great surround sound but not better or worse than any other headset around the same price point. In fact, I think the sound quality is only marginally better than a 20 Logitech headset I had prior to this one. The fact there is a button to enable or disable it is a useless feature in my opinion. Who wouldnt want the best sound quality all the time The last con I have, which is completely my personal preference, is the side the cord comes out on. My computer is to my right so the cord has to go over my body to plug into the computer. I didnt even think about this since my last headset had the cord coming out of the right ear so it was never an issue. Its not the fault of the product whatsoever but it is something to think about and consider that I wanted to note to anyone considering purchasing this product Again, all of the cons are specific to me so dont let them steer you away from this headset if they arent applicable or a dealbreaker for you. This is seriously a great headset for the price and will be everything you ever wanted and more.

The detachable mic removes and failpoints from moving microphones, and the cables for the ear pieces are loose instead of hidden inside the headset allowing them to move freely reducing stress on them. On top of all that the headpiece itself is surprisingly rugged Made of a thick gauge metal, and while this makes them slightly heavy compared to other headsets i have used they are exceptional comfortable. The padded head piece and ear cushions make it feel like your barely hearing anything on your head. My admittedly large ears fit snugly into the cushions without any discomfort, and they even come with both leather and felt covered cushions. I havent used the felt cushions yet as i feel they will get too hot, but they are definitely soft to the touch. Sound quality is also quite impressive. I am no Audiophile but in my opinion the sound from these beats out all the other headsets I have owned. The true test can only be time for these, but with their rugged construction and obvious design for functionality and durability instead of convenience or needless features I have confidence that these will be my headset of choice for quite a few years to come.

Its a bit weird, but honestly Im sure you can just wrap the wire a little bit more than what it is out of the box and itll be just fine.Honestly most of my cons are just from personal preference wanting it to be a little different, or perhaps a unique problem simply because of my gaming setup. This headset is pretty fantastic, and all the issues I have, I have found easy solutions or fixes for except feeding the mic through my headset, still cant figure out how to do that. I didnt give this product 5 stars for two reasons the mic doesnt feed through the headset, so people tend to have to yell at me if they want my attention there isnt a HyperX software I could find to equalize the sound. When I tried to use my computers equalizer, it went through the USB sound card and it didnt change anything. This may not be a problem for others, but if those things were there or if I at least had the OPTION to feed my mic back through my headset, then I would give this 5 stars. Plus, 5 stars should be reserved for studio quality headsets, and this is great, but there are definitely better headsets but not for the price.
Ive been using a pair of Turtle Beach Earforce Seven for the longest time. It was always a hassle because the muffs were super big on me and I wear glasses. The extra muff would press the arms against my head and I couldnt wear both my glases and those headphones. With the Cloud 2 that is no longer a problem. Theyre small enough that theres no extra to press against my head.Next are the cups. Mine came with the leather cups already on which made me wary at first as thats what my Turtle Beach has. So defiantely a plus on how long you can wear them without really noticing them.I havent been able to test out the 7.1 capabilities of the Cloud 2 yet as Ive just been playing on my Xbox but based on what Ive seen already I have high hopes. Overall great pair of headphones though and I would definately recommend to a friend. Not only because of the performance but because of the price for said performance. Hyper X has made a supber set in my opinion and I look forward to what they give us next.

It is still a perfectly adaquete microphone but there are probably better microphone alternatives out there if this is a major deciding factor. For me, the microphone is plenty good enoughQUALITY BUILDAfter receiving this product, I found that it came in a nice red box with HyperX printed on the front. A mesh bag is also provided, it is easy to say that I had the best unboxing experience with this product that I have ever had. On to the headphones themselves, the headset has a comfortable memory foam headband and has two different types of ear cups leather cups and foam cups. Although I prefer the leather cups as they feel premium and very comfortable, my head gets quite warm in them sometimes during intense gaming .The headset size is adjustable to fit all sizes of heads by pulling down the ear cups from the headband.Finally, the microphone is detatchable which is a nice touch, especially if I am only using them to listen to music although the cap that you can cover the auxillery jack with is very easy to lose.PRICE PERFORMANCEI think this is a great investment if you want to ramp up your gaming experience and listen to high quality audio. They are made by a reputable brand and I have absolutely no fault.I hope my review plays a factor in wether you buy this product, or not, or was at least helpful to you.
First off I owned the original cloud 2 for my PS4 and it was phenomenal with the sound card to amp it up and really push the drivers. Do to multiple dogs the cord was a huge inconvenience and was a major hinder so I upgraded to the cloud flight. Holy cow was that ever the right decision because it was like getting almost the sound quality of the cloud 2 but wireless and best all around for all audio. I always said if they ever made the cloud 2 wireless I wouldnt hesitate to grab them. Now that theyre here and I have them they arent the same. Sound quality is really good but somewhere they just arent as loud which is a bummer which leaves them just lacking from the original. To simple, no swivel, not loud enough and no replacement ear cushions for 150 is kinda over priced seeings how the market is so competitive at this price range with better bang for the buck. The wired version comes with a travel bag, sound card and replacement ear cushions for 80. Hyperx you need to take note and rethink riding the coat tails of the OG cloud 2. This is a con! My husband has a headset by the same brand so I thought…why not? After over 30 minutes of hassling with the stupid things I first discovered that you cannot even use the headset without buying a sound license on some app and on top of that I couldn’t even get my Xbox to find the headset. I tried both ports, I plugged in the dongle by itself, the headset by itself and then plugged both in at the same time…NOTHING! This product is the worst headset I have ever bought! Save yourself the headache and do not buy it! I will be returning it tomorrow. What a waste.
