The Hyper-X Pulsefire Core gaming mouse is a surprisingly decent mouse for it's low price point.Pros-Easy to plug and play. Use it straight out of the box.My kids get a kick out of the cycling rbg emblem on the mouse, so I guess I'll call that a pro. Can be customized via downloading the software, but I've not bothered. On the fly dpi adjustment. Very responsive.Easy to click, m4 and m5 buttons work great and don't dig into the thumb. The texturing under the side mouse buttons is surprisingly nice. It catches my thumb nicely.Cons-Super light. Some may see this as a pro but I prefer my mouse to have a bit of heft.Feels cheap. It's got a hollow feeling to it. It's 15 bucks though, so it kinda is what it is.The scroll wheel isn't good. I won't vouch for it's long term viability due to it's cheap feeling construction, but as far as a super budget gaming mouse or a spare it does the job well. I've spent 15 bucks on worse.

Not the most ergonomic grip. RGB is cool but your going to have your palm on it the whole time so you wont ever get to see it. DPI is slightly on the low side. Click's felt a little too tough for my liking. Realized later on the I do not like having a cord on my mouse because it is too much of a nuisance. Cheap mouse but you get what you pay for. If this is within your budget then go for it but if you can spend a little more go for a basilik Razer mouse to go wireless and better performance/ergonomics.

Good Entry Level Mouse
1 February 2020

Very well constructed, no complaints on much. Accurate DPI adjustment, closer to around 15-50 DPI jumps through the provided software. (HyperX NGENUITY)Pros- Responsive and accurate.- Good quality USB connection and braided cable.- Quality buttons and feels to last a long while.- Sleek and perfect for a modest but powerful PC setup.Cons- HyperX NGENUITY software is required to remain ON, not running in the background, while making use of your custom color settings and DPI.- RGB selection is somewhat limited, couldn't really get the right shade of blue to match build. I'm just picky.- Wish the thumb buttons were a little more prominent.Overall, great gaming mouse.

Good performing mouse but not the best software
16 May 2020

This is great feeling mouse. The braided cable is sturdy but still supple enough to not inhibit movement. The finger grooves are adequate but not so deep as to limit potential users fro, comfortably enjoying the mouse. The design is all around safe meaning it will fit many hands. The only real negative is the software which is not user friendly. Also, the lighting effects appear to have no onboard memory so the software has to be running in the background for your lighting preferences to work. However, the default effect (rainbow) is not offensive and the rgb is so minimal that I shouldn’t be a big problem for most. This is great budget mouse that should hold up.

High-quality budget gaming mouse

I've had one of these for a little over a year, and decided to buy another as a backup when I saw it on sale. Both of my copies have great build quality and no quality control issues to speak of. The clicks are crisp and tactile and require an above average amount of force to actuate. Excellent scroll wheel and a comfortable shape for all grip styles. It uses a PixArt 3327 sensor which isn't exactly a top-of-the-line sensor by today's standards, but it's fine for casual gaming. The cable is a braided rubber cable and isn't quite as soft/flexible as other offerings such as those found on the HyperX Pulsefire Haste, Endgame Gear XM1r or the Roccat Burst Pro. It's not the worst I've used, but definitely not the best. While I prefer the Roccat Burst Core and Logitech ... MoreI've had one of these for a little over a year, and decided to buy another as a backup when I saw it on sale. I got this for $15 on sale and that's probably the max I'd spend on it. First off let's get to the few positives: Shape and performance. For the shape it's surprisingly really nice for claw grip with it's tall hump, narrow grip width, and fairly low buttons which makes you feel really locked in. Now for performance this uses a 3327 sensor which isn't the most high end, but ive had no issues with tracking in-game and I felt the LOD was good enough. Now for the main negative: Build quality. It feels really cheap and the plastic on the main buttons has a lot of give especially the right side. It can be pretty noticable at times when simply resting your fingers. Also the software doesn't work on any of my HyperX products as it fails to detect the mouse, this has been a issue for years now for me with no end in sight, so I'm stuck with whatever the default RGB and DPI steps are.I only recommend this on deep sales and if you like the shape more than other mice.

Software needed to use

It's a good mouse but the fact that you need another piece of software running at startup and in the background is ridiculous. Good build quality of the mouse, DPI adjustment on the fly, seven button is plenty for anyone and not too heavy. The main reason for my 3 star review is HyperX Ngenuity software. It's decent software but the fact that the mouse will not work without the software is stupid. Especially when it says compatible with Windows 10. But another minimum requirement is a internet connection and HyperX Ngenuity software must be installed to even use the mouse. Should be plug-n-play like almost all gaming mice. If I Disable HyperX Ngenuity at Windows startup the HyperX Pulsefire Core does not work if I restart my system. This is superior quality product. Everything from the 2 yr warranty on the box to the packaging to the build materials and how they feel in the hand. Even logitech have felt like a cheaper plastic than this. And application is simple and easy to use. It takes a good company to provide full support even for their low end product line. props
