The AZES40 features two Ibanez Essentials passive ceramic single-coil pickups and one Ibanez Accord passive ceramic humbucking pickup, with Ibanez' dyna-MIX9 switching system. Essentials and Accord pickups provide well-balanced tone and as well as versatility, so that guitar players can enjoy various styles of music with just one instrument. The dyna-MIX9 offers nine easy-to-access sound variations. It even simulates a humbucking sound from the combination of two single coil pickups, and can split the bridge humbucker to simulate single-coil tones. The AZES40's T106 tremolo bridge is equipped with comfort round Steel saddles. Its construction provides a wider range of height adjustment and ease of set-up. The screws are also less likely to stick out, leading to less stress on your strumming hand and better playing comfort. Another comfort-enhancing feature is the die-cast split-shaft machine heads. The die-cast housing offers protection from dust, as well as making tuning easy and smooth, while the split-shaft design makes it easy to change the strings.
