Ibanez GB10-BS George Benson Signature Hollowbody Brown Sunburst

(81 reviews)

Like new, Ibanez GB10 George Benson Signature Model with hard case. The guitar is in mint condition. I purchased it in 2017 while living and touring in Japan (as shown on receipt). I probably have 10-12 hours of playing time on it. It has been well maintained since and is currently setup with flatwound 12s. It is a great sounding axe, but I unfortunately do not play it as I've retired from performing and use a solid body for the limited number of gigs I occasionally play. The only imperfection is on the case. There is a couple of minor dings on it from when I traveled back from Japan with it, but it is nothing significant.

A Great Instrument

I Just received mine today and it was well worth the wait for the natural finish (I originally ordered it last December, 2015). I particularly like the floating pickups. It allows this
semi acoustic shallow body toproject well without amplification. So, it is nice to play un-amplified for practice and for and with friends. It is light weight. Without a strap button
mounted on the neck side of the body, it needs an unconventionalstrap (that would attach to the head). Pleasantly, there is an extra matching strap button included, that can
be mounted for a conventional strap setup. The body is small, so is a bit awkward to play in the lap. I also like that the neck meets the body at the 15th instead of ... Show more

I've owned my GB 10 since 1984. I prefer it to most of the other GB models because of it's size and tone. This guitar has been through it all, serving it's 30+ years up front and
as back-up, and has never been on the repair bench. The case is worn out, but the guitar just keeps playing. Keep think I'll need a new one, but it may outlast me.

I am an owner of the anniversary Gb12 the same as the GB10 just a few amenaties added. Once you pick up this instrument you will never want another jazz guitar. The feel,
the sound quality is sweet. Make sure you have a quality amp. For a toy amp for this guitar is no Justice. Let's put it this way even your girl friend if she never played guitar and
felt this fret board would want you to have one and one for her.

GB10 EQUALS PERFECT 10
19 May 2011
The Ibanez GB10 Hollowbody is simply one of the smoothest guitars I have ever laid my hands on. The tone is 100 percent Benson when played through a decent amp. A lot of manufacturers should take note on this guitar because every time you pick it up you can feel that you are playing a top quality instrument, and you didn't have to pay $10,000 to get it. Thank you Ibanez, Thank you Mr. Benson for such an incredible guitar!!!!... Show more

George Benson GB 10 is a supurb guitar, by Stanley

I have a fair collection of guitars. I bought my first GB 10 in 1978. The second one, which has an authentic George Benson signature on the upper cover of the guitar, was bought in 2006 during a trip in Holland. My guitar collection consists amongst other of a Gibson L4 and L5 CES. But the clear and warm sound of the GB10 is unique. Especially on the Polytone Mini Brute IV the GB10 is at his best. I recommend this guitar highly to any serious guitarist... Show more

Great Jazzbox for gigging
16 June 2006
I bought this blonde GB10 new last July. After almost 30 years playing a vintage Gibson Johnny Smith, it has become my main playing axe. While the sound isn't quite the same 'Classic' sound as my JS, it still holds its own quite nicely with a unique jazz sound all its own. The action is easy , fast and extremely comfortable. Having been into the larger archtops for so long, I've been completely seduced by the smaller size of this guitar. It can be manhandled - all the features are well thought out, and the workmanship on these guitars is impeccable, in a day and age where we've come to expect something less. This guitar looks great, sounds great, and is easy to play. I've always loved George Benson's playing and I love this GB10.... Show more

Nice Guitar But,,,,
17 February 2012
I'm quite disappointed with the microphonic mini pickups. When I play I pick mostly over the front pickup. Even the frets at the top are microphonic because the pickup is attached to the neck by a bracket. Tone is very good and if you learn to play between the pickups, no "pick click". I thought about ordering another GB model, but I hear the others are the same. I've lowered the pickup by removing screws and seems to be better now, but tone is a little less. Other than that little irritation, it's a great guitar.Nice features and like the workmanship other than the pickups. Really nice pots, very smooth. The neck inlay is beautiful, tuners very nice, binding and finish are great. This is one beautiful guitar. One of the highest quality guitars I've ever owned ... MoreI'm quite disappointed with the microphonic mini pickups. When I play I pick mostly over the front pickup. I bought this guitar with natural finish. It is very good for the price. It has unique featurewhere normally the neck meets the body and either the 14th or 16th fret. The neck onthis guitar meets the body at the 15th fret. So it is a bit longer than conventional necksbut not as long as extended necks. I like that both the pickups are floating pickups. Ithas nice sound unamplified. The body is small and easy to handle. The worksmanshipis excellent. It came with a loose strap nut that would have to be taken to a tech toinstall. Without it, the strap connects to the tailpiece end of the guitar body and to the headwith a string.... Show more
