Ibanez QX52 BKF Premium Electric Guitar w/Bag - Black Flat
Ibanez builds guitars for players of all levels—from beginners to the most demanding masters of the instrument. Regardless of price, Ibanez always strives to offer the absolute best sound, style, and playability in its class. The Standard series incorporates all the staples the Ibanez brand is famous for, such as fast necks and high-octane distortion in a package that is available and accessible to most players. With new developments in instrument technology, the prominence of more technical playing styles, and players’ desire for lighter, more portable instruments, today’s headless guitars are pushing far beyond designs of the past. However, even with all these advancements, Ibanez still saw an exciting opportunity in this space. The Q or Quest series is an entirely new concept for Ibanez. The “Quest” in this case was to not just to adapt an existing instrument into a headless design, but to develop an entirely new guitar from the ground up. This range features a number of unique elements intended to maximize tone, performance, and playing comfort. These include, custom designed R1 single coil and Q58 humbucker pickups, a new Mono-Tune bridge, and a proprietary custom string locking mechanism. The QX subseries is also equipped with innovative 8-degree inward slanted frets, uniquely tailoring their ergonomics to the benefit of highly technical players. Ultimately, this series offers a diverse and versatile enough feature set to attract not only the modern, technical guitarist, but also players who may have never even considered a headless guitar before. Regardless of genre, Q (Quest) allows guitarists of every background to question the full scope of their creative possibilities.

I am blown away by this axe in so many ways: You’ll be hard pressed to find such a perfect guitar at this price point that covers so many genres and territories of music. Metal, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Fusion, and everything in between. The Nick feels super comfortable; thicker than a Wizard but instantly natural feeling. The slanted frets are great even if you’ve never played angeled/slanted frets previously. The pickups are super articulate and can best be described as Hot Plus; juicy with bite when you dime the guitar volume. Roll down volume a bit on guitar and you’ll get sparkling clears… I was surprised how much I like this guitar. It’s super light and seems smaller than it is. (In a good way, easy to travel with) Ibanez nailed it on their introduction to Headless ... This has replaced a Mexican strat as my go to practice guitar. Mainly due to its light weight but it is also a joy to play. Setting it up is very easy and the tuning is very stable. There is a nice range of tones as you can split the humbuckers. The slanted frets make barre chords near the neck easier for me but most of the time I don't think about the fact they are slanted.

I've been learning on this guitar for about 7 months now. It's so easy to play or to make up something fun on. I also let my brother play it (in my opinion he's a professional) he loves how the neck and frets feel and how easy it is to play chords on. He offerd me a trade

Great headless guitar with features of more expensive instruments. Playability is great and it is very light
An absolute joy to play. I've always thought that a slanted fret guitar would be a good idea - if you're like me and find barre chords near the nut a (literal) pain then check out the QX52 range. The guitar is so light you hardly notice having it hanging round your neck and the slanted frets are so intuitive to use I'm amazed nobody has done this before. The only thing I don't like is the very small fret markers used. These are very difficult to see and could do with a better contrast between fretboard and fret markers. Other than that, I'd say the QX52 is pretty much the perfect guitar with a deep, pleasing tone and stability that you wouldn't expect from an instrument that's so light and manageable. I'm playing this through a Boss Katana currently, it really is a revelation compared to my other guitars from Ormsby, Ibanez and Jackson.
After playing for 40 years now, and playing almost every kind, shape, brand of guitars on the market, I realized when I got this guitar, I asked, where have you been all my life. After playing strays, Les Pauls, and all the rest, i realized just how heavy they really are. With this guitar, and other headless guitars, there is balance, and no neck dive. The weight and feel of these guitars is such a blessing on my soon to be 56 year old back and shoulders. I thought the slanted frets were going to be a problem, but when I played it for the first time, I found out I really like them. I play a lot of jazz/fusion type stuff these days. I play these guitars through a Quilter amp and cab.
