Loved this for my first time skiing in Tahoe. I can be quite sensitive to wool but this and the matching pants were super comfortable and I loved all the vents stitched in. I like that the shirt is long enough to ensure no snow gets in my pants but wish it wasn't so long that it bunches up when tucked in. Also wish there were more fun colors and designs. Sizing was perfect - got a M (I'm 135 lbs, 5'6, D cup). Overall fantastic purchase so far!

I'm more sensitive than some to scratchy fabrics and found that the breathable eyelet panels bothered my skin (though the 100% merino panels did not). This seams to be more a function of the weave than the content of the fabric as you can see the nylon/ elastane 'threads' on the inner side of the eyelet panels, where they sit right against the skin. Returning for this reason. The pros: I love the raglan sleeve and hope in the future there will be 100% merino shirts available in this fit. I'm 5'9", 145lb, longer than average arms and torso and wider than average shoulders. Sized up to the large because I did not want a skin tight fit and the sleeves and body were a great length for me, plus a very flattering look! Can't comment on use because I only tried it at home ... MoreI'm more sensitive than some to scratchy fabrics and found that the breathable eyelet panels bothered my skin (though the 100% merino panels did not). It will be a great shirt for many but was not the right shirt for me.

The top and the matching bottoms were purchased as a (necessary) gift for my wife for our honeymoon trip to Iceland just before Christmas. She's never owned or had to wear thermals, but I knew she would need them.It reached -15 F while we were in Iceland, but these kept my wife warm for our daily excursions outside. It wasn't until the wind kicked up that we found some limits, but this would have been resolved with an extra layer of wind-proof clothing.

There is no doubt whatsoever that merino warms and wicks better than any man-made fabric - I love merino and I love icebreaker merino best - so for layering the only question is which make and weight of merino to use.I have tried all weights and have favourite set ups for differing conditions but overall the 260 is my most worn by far.I would argue (from experience) that having mixed weights on one garment does not actually give an advantage; though the theory looks great on paper it is not more effective in practice than having a single weight over the whole garment, in fact less so.I bought two of these to replace my previous (and worn out from LOTS of wear) 260 tops, however I still prefer the previous version because: A -not having the same thickness (aka ... MoreThere is no doubt whatsoever that merino warms and wicks better than any man-made fabric - I love merino and I love icebreaker merino best - so for layering the only question is which make and weight of merino to use.I have tried all weights and have favourite set ups for differing conditions but overall the 260 is my most worn by far.I would argue (from experience) that having mixed weights on one garment does not actually give an advantage; though the theory looks great on paper it is not more effective in practice than having a single weight over the whole garment, in fact less so.I bought two of these to replace my previous (and worn out from LOTS of wear) 260 tops, however I still prefer the previous version because: A -not having the same thickness (aka 'body zone) area all over means there are times when it gets cold, when it shouldn't, whereas it doesn't with the previous version and B - it does not have the desired effect of either causing noticeably less sweat or removing it faster in the created (body zone) areas: you will sweat in those areas anyway if you're exercising and sweat is sweat and makes you wet and cold - and the lack of thickness (in the body zone areas) doesn't provide the same warmth as previous version so you feel it.I have done direct comparisons doing the exact same exercise daily [2 hour fast walk/jog in cold weather] over a month or so and definitely notice that I feel (and dislike!) the colder body zone areas. The thicker merino may hold more sweat but that is irrelevant because being thicker it also keeps you warmer in the sweaty areas - it evaporates just as fast but keeps you warmer at the same time: the thinner/aereated areas of the body zone are not noticeably better at causing less sweat to any degree you notice nor is it better at evaporating, it's just colder in those areas, unlike in the previous version that had the same weight all over without any of the new body zone areas.I 'get' the idea of the body zone areas, but in practice it has no advantages and the added disadvantage that you now get cold areas.I hope they go back to the same body shape and two tone colour and an even thickness all over Next year- I won't buy this version(or any body zone version) again.
I have other icebreaker base layer tops so I was excited to try this. It did not disappoint. I wore it for an entire weekend in -20c temps ice fishing in Northern Ontario and was so warm (and did not smell at all!). The fit is flattering and fitted just the right amount. The size finder was accurate I am normally a small and it was perfect.
This base layer is very warm and comfortable. I purchased this top as I already had the leggings and love the quality. I generally wear with another Icebreaker layer when Nordic Walking or on its own for Pilates. I went for the large size as I like the extra length. I ordered online and the item arrived quickly.
This base layer is extremely comfortable. I'm 5'8" and normally wear medium tops (but sometimes large). I went with a medium and it's perfect. I prefer my base layers to fit close to my body. I like the colors and the feel, plus I appreciate that the arms and body are long enough for me. The thumb loops are an added bonus when pulling layers on top. This base layer seems well worth the price.
This product is a little itchy on the skin therefore a star less. However it's very good as a base layer and keeps you warm. I wore it during 3-0 Celsius and it kept me very warm. Fit is true to size, a little lengthy for a petite like myself. It sits below hips for me. I would recommend this product.
Alright here's the deal. I feel like everyone has their go to performance outfit. This is the foundation of mine. It's also yours- you just don't know it yet.The weight of this fabric alone makes it feel luxurious even though it's not too thick. The technical attention to ventilation, cut, and shape were all taken into consideration when this baby was created. The raglan sleeves and glorious thumbholes and the LENGTH. My god can we talk about the length and the silhouette of the bottom hemline? It's just enough to cover the mid line of the booty so you can layer it over leggings but tuck it under weatherproofing layers. It's also opaque (in regards to sportsbra transparency) so there are no worries about immodesty either. The only thing keeping me from replacing ... MoreAlright here's the deal. I saw that this was a best seller, and although I wasn't fully convinced how I'd feel about it when I purchased it I can say I'm convinced now. I'm disappointed that I'm only just purchasing it now. GREAT performance shirt. Fits snug like baselayers should. I typically take a M and took a M in this (for reference I'm 5'11 and 145 lbs), and it's snug but not tight. Someone mentioned the panels are not wool, but they are (double check fabric details). I would like to get this in different weights. Perfect performance shirt.I'm 5'11, and while this shirt is longer than any other I have from Icebreaker, I find it to be adequately long in the torso, but not excessive. Same with the sleeves. Seem slightly longer than normal, esp with the thumbholes, but I have really ... MoreI saw that this was a best seller, and although I wasn't fully convinced how I'd feel about it when I purchased it I can say I'm convinced now.
