Inspired by the original Savoy vase the taller and leaner Finlandia will make a dramatic display with or without flowers. The free-flowing lines of Alvar Aalto's 1936 design are left untouched but the vase is taken to new heights. The new iittala color called "Linen" is light airy and alluring; a humble hue that's perfect for any season. It will also showcase the stems of a floral arrangement though it can hold many other contents too; designer Alvar Aalto wanted the end user to determine the object's purpose. It takes 7 craftsmen 12 work stages and 30 hours to create just one of these extraordinary mouth-blown vases.
