These jars are a new addition to compliment this playful and textural range. Kastehelmi, brings a touch of interest to everyday moments with it's unqiue design, soft colours and beautiful shapes, the jars which are available in 2 sizes and can be used for storing things in the kitchen, for serving up on the dining table for nibbles, dips etc or for those little things anywhere in the house, cotton buds in the bathroom, jewellery in the bedroom, the possibilites are endless. The unique design of the lid means the jars are stackable too. Take a lokk at the matching tumblers, available in five colours. Toika's inspiration came form nature when he was looking for an affordable method to produce pressed glassware for everyday use and whilst experimenting he produced this new three - dimensional surface structure, which highlighted the light and played on the surface of the glass. Using a rotating drill with the mould, the pattern and structure created resembled the image of a pearl, or half pearl, and made the most beautiful shape. The name Kastehelmi, which translates as 'dewdrops' was inspired by the drops of dew that can be seen glistening on blades of grass, as the sunrises, like little rows of pearls which was the perfect name for this beautiful and versatile range. It coordinates in endless possibilities with the Teema, Taika, Kivi and Kartio ranges from Iittala to create your own individual look.
