A slight design change recommended.I turned the black lid upside down to use it as a guide to refill the black peppercorns - *remove or fill-in the lip on the inside of the black cover because this catches the black peppercorns. Rather close it in so the black pepper slides straight into the glass jar when re-filling! :)I would prefer all grinding parts to be stainless steel as I may be grinding the plastic into my food as well?? :(I have bought a second one because the internal plastic broke, making it unusable. Just to buy this part would be good OR even better make it stainless steel for the same price. :)

This is the fourth IHARDIG spice grinder I've purchased for myself. The first two I purchased 19 years ago for peppercorns and coarse salt. They still work beautifully, offering coarse to fine grinds. I replaced the pepper grinder today because the outer sleeve started to slip after so many years of being pulled off and on to refill. Our fourth was added to grind dried red pepper flakes. These are also a favorite gift to give!

I am a gourmet chef who has tried many other grinders and nothing comes close if you like your pepper course ground. If you follow cleaning and maintenance recommendations these will last for years. I’m replacing a prior purchase which eventually broke from daily use after several years. These have a wide mouth for easy filling and are easily adjusted from fine to course. The adjustment indicator is the only thin in need of improvement. I will definitely buy these again.

I bought this a month ago so far so good. I read the reviews before purchasing and i agree on the quality. It grind really well. Im very happy Easy to twist. If i wanted to nit pick. Only possible con is its size and weight. I think thats what makes it such a good grinder so i cant really be picky. but i also shudder to think if i dropped on my stove top it prolly would shatter the stove and the grinder be fine. Very Small hands might have trouble holding it. And the glass is stout, thick and solid very smooth with no traction my hands are plenty big for it, but i make sure i have a good grip w both hands for grinding. Also not as aesthetically appealing as some that are more slender but again its a great grinder would happily buy again. Oh! And i also like how i ... MoreI bought this a month ago so far so good. Happy purchase.
Really good value for a grinder. The glass barrel is welcomed, however, the plastic grinder is problematic. This purchase replaced the same model of grinder I had previously purchased. The size adjustment feature had stuck on the largest opening allowing the salt crystals to pass through with the minimum of grinding. Prior to this malfunction the grinding mechanism would lock up. I put this down to inferior plastic material. Good value compared to other stores.
We have several of these. What I particularly like is that they provide a fine grind on peppercorns in a humid (80% most of the time) place without issue. They are easy to clean. They just work. The price is reasonable.
I can see why these might sell out very rapidly (or did so in the store that I go to). Had to replace an existing peppermill of a similar design that had broken and decided that this product line offered the greatest flexibility. Sharp is not the right word but this can grind black pepper with very little force being applied. I have a second that will be used when needed to grind dried spices. I did note that there tends to be a small amount of leftover debris that will appear after retuning this mill to the normal storage position (grinder on top). This can lead to a very small amount of leakage when the next use comes along. IKEA suggests using salt to clean the grinder burrs. Will not be needed often with but many spices will still contain oil that will build up. ... MoreI can see why these might sell out very rapidly (or did so in the store that I go to). Instead when the grinder if fully attached it will freely spin. Nothing really important bout that other than that it this might initially create some confusion as to whether or not this is securely closed.
Glass base, ceramic grinding mechanism…..not plastic. Easy to refill. Make your own herb salts. I have half a dozen with different sea or rock salts, peppers and spice mixes stored in them. I have had them for five years so far.
I purchased these for my daughter for Xmas as she will be moving out at the beginning of year. We already have these and they are so good. Never gets clogged (salt doesn’t grind in lots of wet weather though). Easy to clean. That’s why I bought some for her.
I've tried a lot of different spice grinders, but now that I've tried this one, I'll stick with it. Grinds beautifully and can be fine tuned for different spices and needs. I threw away the instructions and then couldn't open it, but YouTube came through. It's easy to open, fill, and use.
