Although a challenge to put together, the finished product is stunning. Absolutely love the soft closing doors and drawers.

The frame is swelling, which makes the doors look inclined. Despite having 3 glass shelves and two additionally bought wooden shelves (and paid extra for them!!!), it looks crooked. As we called the customer service to ask for the additional wooden shelves (we thought we could fix the storage), the operator was rude and very arrogant. We bought other furniture from IKEA before, mainly from the HEMNES collection, and never had problems. So hands off of this product, save your nerves!!

Looks good, but have to be fixed to the wall, sways from side to side. Good enough for display of love weight show case items, not for heavy HiFi equipment, there is no cable channels or vents. Nearly 20k including shipping seems very pricey but that's imported item price
| Back panel | Fibreboard, Paper foil, Plastic foil |
| Drawer back/ Drawer side | Particleboard, Plastic foil |
| Drawer bottom | Particleboard, Plastic foil, Paper foil |
| Metal part | Steel, Nickel-plated |
| Plastic parts | Acetal plastic |

Thought this would be straight forward like the other Besta pieces. We've tried endlessly to line up the doors/drawers and make it stable but no luck. Will be returning this piece. Wish it was better constructed to hold the sides straight up instead of leaning - the foot screws don't help at all to level.
Despite the reviews I purchased this product and there were some issues. The instructions were too universal for all the different configurations of this unit. So it made building a bit of a challenge not as intuitive as most ikea products. Needed a specific set just for this configuration. With regards to it being flimsy it wasn't as long as the unit was secured to the wall. Definitely not a free standing unit.Once completed the unit looks good, doors and drawers were fine didn't have an issue with them lining up. (Would have done if not attached to the wall)Overall happy with purchase shame about the instructions.
These units are not great at all. Materials are ok but putting together is flimsy. Drawers and doors don’t align properly, the new backing on ikea units is just ridiculous. It does not assist with making the units sturdy. Unfortunately these are assembled and still unused but we can’t return them. Very disappointed.
We like Ikea furniture, and this one looks good and is functional, but it has one key design flaw that Ikea needs to address. With other Ikea cabinets, like Billy, there's a way to slide the back piece into the slots and into final position with the frame assembled and shelves in place. The assembled frame keeps everything square, and the shelves support the back piece as you slide it down the slots and into place.(note: the back is thin and bends and folds easily)With this Besta cabinet, one end of the frame can't be attached when adding the back piece, and since it uses glass shelves neither of the advantages mentioned with the Billy exist. This makes getting the back piece into place and retained within the slots difficult at best. With any warping of the frame ... It’s true what they other reviews say. I didn’t listen thinking I could get it to work. But it was lopsided/not square so I couldn’t get the drawers to go in. I spent hours trying to make it work and I couldn’t. It’s definitely FAR from stable, unlike other IKEA furniture. I don’t know why this design flaw has not been fixed. I will have to return this product.
Having assembled various Ikea products in the past with no problems this unit was extremely difficult - particularly when the drawers area. Unless this unit is required to sit on a wooden floor it difinately requires to be on legs. All runners and hinges require to be raised on carcase by 3/4 of an inch. Have eventually assembled this unit with modification - but not happy with it.!
Ended up with a nice-looking set of cupboards – but took a long time to get perfect.Do not buy if you are placing on carpet: the balancing “legs” are too short and the bottom drawers will not open as it sticks in the pile. Solution: raise by placing on wooden planking.Do not buy if you are placing on carpet: the flexibility of the carpet means you can never get it square. Solution: level it by placing on wooden planking.Do not buy only one: it’s too flimsy to stand alone, even anchored to the wall. Solution: buy two and anchor them together – but that doubles the cost. And place on wooden planking.Do not buy unless you’re used to Ikea instructions. It comes in separate boxes with separate instructions, and it is a nightmare to work out which bits to do first! ... It comes in separate boxes with separate instructions, and it is a nightmare to work out which bits to do first! For example, you MUST put the glass shelves in before you put the doors on – and once installed you can’t move them (without removing and resetting/realigning the doors). This item comes with labels stuck on the glass shelves and inside doors that are very visible and, for some reason, almost impossible to remove. Took over 15 minutes to remove each label cleanly. (The drawers still have stickers on – we gave up as not visible.)Unusually for Ikea, one piece was missing. Three weeks after reporting it, we’re still waiting. (Fortunately non-critical, but we’d like to complete it.)One of the “push to open” bits does not work. The glass doors all had glue on them – all four. We thought it was scratched at first, but realised it was something stuck on. Having said that, one door did have a 5mm scratch in on corner of the glass. We added the lights; the wood is so cardboardy that the screws can’t hold. But at least the look good when fitted. We have other items in the same set, no where near as flimsy as this and instructions have never been this bad. No idea how it will hold up if/when we move house. Disappointing from Ikea.
