It’s easy to keep sockets and cables out of sight but close at hand with the cable outlet at the back. You can mount the storage unit to the right or left, according to your space or preference. Air ventilates effectively around your computer or other equipment because of an opening in the back panel. Drawer stops prevent the drawers from being pulled out too far. You can extend your work surface by combining desks and drawer units. All desks and drawer units in the MICKE series are the same height. You can adjust the shelves to fit different things, and adjust them again whenever you need to. Adjustable shelves help you use your space more efficiently.

I love this desk. I just bought it so my review isnt based off of long term use, but it has incredible features. The large drawer is super big and can fit a ton. Cabinet is nice for larger text books as a student. Its compact while also offering a lot of storage space, which is perfect. You can build it to be left or right sided, which is hard to find! I am only 15, and it took about an hour to build. Directions were pretty straight forward.

Budget desk and recommended.

I bought this desk before and had to buy another one. I mainly use it for storage or I put detolfs or whatnot on top of the desk as a riser. It's a really sturdy desk. Mind you be careful opening the drawer on the left side with a lot of strength. I made the mistake and slammed the door pretty hard and the wood or whatever material broke off and the hinge is dangling now. I can probably fix it but I rarely open it.I was waiting for the anthracite one to come in stock as it has a bit more character but gave in due to the stock issues IKEA has been having. I'll probably buy 2 of the anthracite desks and leave them in the garage to use in the future due to stock and price increases.Oops went off topic. It's a solid desk. 10/10. Good table, easy to assemble amd sturdy. Looks nice too. I did not assemble the long drawer, to have more space for the chair and my legs. I tested at the store and with the drawer, it is hard to fit a chair with arms, and your knees do not have enough space.I would like Ikea to develop 2 options for this; with or without the long drawer. The one without could be slighty cheaper and with no holes.Important to mention the side drawer/shelves has no "back" - it is open in the back, which can be a problem if you do not face the table to a wall.

Let me tell you abt this MICKE desk!
3 February 2023

I’ve had this desk for a couple of weeks now, and it’s sooo nice and useful for me as a student who needs a study desk. The wall of this desk is also a dry eraser wall where YOU CAN WRITE ON!! And another bonus is the space of the desk, at first I kinda thought it would be smaller but it’s wide and very medium and not too big, you know. Just to put it out there, don’t waste money on having someone assembled it, because it’s really not that hard or difficult. Albeit it it took me a couple hours (5 hrs max), but it was pretty easy after watching a lot of helpful YouTube videos! Unfortunately the Manuel is pretty straightforward with pictures and not a single words, which got me confused a lot most of time but the YouTube vids help allot. And the satisfaction I felt ... MoreI’ve had this desk for a couple of weeks now, and it’s sooo nice and useful for me as a student who needs a study desk. Anyway I would recommend this product to everyone, bc it’s really good if your a student or if your working and need space. :)

Micke desk is awesome

I love my new Micke desk and hutch. The only hiccup I found was that the hutch needs to be a bit more secured to the desk as the attachment at the moment is not very secure. I have also added a set of the Helmar drawers into the space that holds the small drawer and the space under it as it is open at the back to allow for a tower computer.I don’t have this type of computer so everything would have ended up dusty so the set of metal drawers in yellow fit in the space and look great while also storing all the bits and pieces needed for working at a desk. For someone who does not have a tower this space either needs a back panel to prevent the dust or an alternate option like the Helmar Drawers. There is also there is an issue in the packaging as the top of the desk ... MoreI love my new Micke desk and hutch. Missing a key component - no back for cabinet!
17 June 2024

I got this desk for my daughter's room to go under her loft bed. It's a pretty sturdy desk and wasn't horrible to put together, though I could see where some people could have issues following the instructions because you need to make sure to see the "x2" for the drawers since it only displays the one set of pictures, but you need to know you're putting together 2 drawers. The biggest issue I have with this desk is that there is NO BACK TO THE SHELF!!! This will be an issue with me having the desk under a Loft bed because there will be no wall to stop things from falling out the back. I could see where having a large computer under the desk would need an "open" back for ventilation, but there's still ways to ventilate if you're using the cabinet for a large ... MoreI got this desk for my daughter's room to go under her loft bed. Not worth it
17 February 2024

Would've been fine, if I could get the screws in properly (or fork out an extra £30+ to get someone else to fit it). The bottom of the drawers were just a bit of flimsy thin MDF, oviously I wasn't expecting much from a £99 ikea desk but I at least expect it to function and be able to take a little weight. I will be returning it (a little annoying that I have to get help with that, thankfully I have someone who can give me a hand with taking it to the shop, as that's my only return option).Overall, poor quality - not worth £99 even to my standards. Ikeas usually decent for the prices, but maybe I'll just stick to the meatballs.Bought a desk from a charity shop with delivery to my bedroom, already put together, for £9 LESS (thats not including Ikea delivering) and ... MoreWould've been fine, if I could get the screws in properly (or fork out an extra £30+ to get someone else to fit it). Perfect for a small bedroom but instructions are terrible!
8 July 2023

I bought the version with the red leg/black grid desktop for my teen daughter’s bedroom, as it coordinates with the color scheme. It’s the perfect size for her small room, and the cabinet gives her plenty of storage. I wish the wooden pieces had had a sticker/stamp with a number or letter and that the instructions referred to those numbers or letters. I had no idea that I was supposed to be applying drawer rollers to both of the wide vertical panels until it was time to assemble the cabinet. I’ve assembled many IKEA pieces over the years, and rarely have I been so confused. I also wish the cabinet part had a back panel. Everything at IKEA costs more than it should, but I don’t think $99 for this piece was unreasonable. I foresee my daughter getting a lot of good use ... MoreI bought the version with the red leg/black grid desktop for my teen daughter’s bedroom, as it coordinates with the color scheme. Too complicated to assemble
3 July 2024

Assembling is painful. Not a single extra screw is given. The stability of the drawer especially is poor. I do not like the fact that rear side of the side door is open and things look incomplete without a proper back cover. Not worth it. Returning is painful as well because again removing everything that is assembled with loosen things and hard to carry it back to the store. Not a great experience. I wish I opted for something else.

great desk, but very difficult to put together. my boyfriend struggled for hours because nothing was labeled.
9 March 2024

i’ve seen this desk everywhere on youtube. so i decided to buy one. labels for the parts would be much more helpful. the instructions are mainly visuals. yes, some people are visual learners, but some people need actual directions and labels. took him hours to put it together. don’t get me wrong its a nice desk but has some flaws. one corner wasn’t measured right therefore the top of the desk wasn’t fully on.
