I got this for an unlit corner of my bedroom on my low dresser where I have a peace lily and my jewelry box. I need this lamp for both the plant, and to check out how the jewelry looks with my clothes. I already have a digital timer for the plant (makes no noise, unlike the mechanical timers), and so now two problems are solved with this lamp. It's definitely short for the peace lily, and so I'm considering getting the clamp light instead, eventhough it will be an eyesore clamped onto the mirror of the antique French dresser. Before I do that, though, I will look into risers for this lamp, which I can use zip-ties with to secure the base. I like the clean, minimal look a lot.

I’ve spent the last hour on ikeas website trying to find a replacement power supply for this lap, because mine decided to break on me. I chatted with customer service, they sent me a link to the “deals” page….nothing. There is apparently no replacement for the power supply for this lamp, so now I have an elegant paperweight. It’s a bummer, I really liked this lamp.“I love lamp.”

Bought 4 of these to use on 2 Malm beds after seeing them used on bedheads on the website a year or two ago. Clip broke on 1 after about 18 months of use, returned for replacement. A 2nd snapped in the same place last night. Have checked the remaining lamps and all are cracking in the same place. No longer have the receipt (it was retained by the store when I returned the 1st) so can’t return these faulty lamps. I’m not the first to report this issue. Very poor product IKEA and obviously not fit for purpose in this instance. Can’t post review without star rating but in reality: No stars.

Bright enough for reading, saves a lot of space in comparison to a floor lamp or something on the bedside table. Sturdy clip, good flexible neck. Would recommend. Just be aware that the plug is a little bit chunky, so it won't fit comfortable into a socket that's behind your bed or other furniture that's usually right up against the wall.
I bought this lamp to read by at night. After about 3 years and 8 months, the LED light is no longer working.After failing to reach customer service online, I rang IKEA and on the third attempt, with my poor German, I discovered that there is no spare LED light to buy. I've definitely used it less than 20,000 hours.I'm not going to throw away the base of the device in case I can buy an LED light to donate this piece of rubbish (according to IKEA).I didn't expect that when I bought it, so don't buy it if you care about sustainability and your right to repairs.But the lamp was good while it lasted.
I have bought 6 of these lamps in total, all of them have broken where they clamp on the Malm headboard, even though they are advertised on a Malm headboard. My 3 children have Malm beds and I purchased them as reading lights for them. I attached them to the top of the headboard (like in the product picture) and -without moving positions- they all broke within 12 months. I returned them to IKEA for a refund and re-purchased them (at a higher price than originally) in the hope that IKEA would have fixed the issue but all 3 have broken again, at exactly the same place. It's a real shame as the lamps are lovely, they create a great light and my children have been using them for reading at bedtime daily. Bought this to put on small bedside table in 2 person guest room. Wanted something that would provided sufficient light for reading. But not so bright it would bother other guest. It allows you to shine light where you need it. Easy to assemble. The light cord plug is a bit chunky (Heavier and wider than most), but it doesn’t interfere with using the outlet. Bulb is integrated LED. Directions implies it is replaceable. Great little lamp. Just wish the stand was a couple inches taller.
This is the second of this lamp that I have purchased at the IKEA store in Columbus, OH. I was replacing an IKEA desk lamp purchased many years before. That model is no longer being produced, and no replacement part was available. So I bought this little task lamp and was happy enough that when the second old one's bulb went out (also not available for replacement), I got a second one of these. It works fine, although I wish the head and not just the neck had more mobility.
If my hands are wet when I use the switch, water may get inside and make the light flicker. To solve this, I operate the switch repeatedly. Sometimes the light flickers because of the connection between the light cord and the power supply, so I twist the cord plug slightly in the power supply socket, or I pull the cord plug out of the power supply and reinsert it a few times. (These problems and fixes also apply to the Jansjo lights.)I am satisfied with this lamp. I like the warm light color; it is more restful for my eyes than blueish-white light, and I can see red, yellow, magenta, and other colors more easily and normally. Next to the light head, more than an inch (3 cm) of the gooseneck is inflexible, so I would like the flexible portion of the goose-neck to be ...
