The review is for rhe great service at B&H. 5 stars. Prompt service and shipping. Oh, the film. Also 5 stars. I love the Ilford quality for my photos. I use this in some antique cameras now and then. Thanks for the pleasant experience.

In medium format, Delta 100 can yield prints of exceptional quality and rich tonality. Its very fine grain is virtually invisible at 11x14, and unobtrusive at 16x20. In Ilfotech, my development was usually 1:47, yielding a long-scale, supple negative. In D:23 1:1, it also develops easily.

I am literally in the middle of scanning some negatives as I write this but I just had to stop to write this review to touch on the EXTRAORDINARY exposure latitude this film has. The picture I've attached is completely unedited and untouched. It is straight from the scanner so disregard any the dust specs but I've done this for a reason. Take note of the detail in the clouds AND in the shadows underneath the bridge. When I saw that, I was absolutely blown away. To retain detail in both highlights and shadows straight from camera is amazing to me. And that's just the tonal range! The film grain (or lack thereof) is silky smooth, finer than baby powder, and my images are sharp as a tac, even in 35mm. I'm very impressed. Now, I've noticed the images I get using this ... Now, I've noticed the images I get using this film are a little on the flat side but that is a good trade-off for having excellent tonal range in return. It's literally a matter of sliding the contrast bar up in post to fix. Now that Acros is gone, I think I've found my go-to B&W film

Colour images on a black and white film?Completed it mate!Seriously a great option for creating Trichromes due to the grain on this film being so fine. Other film stocks tend to look quite grainy when shooting trichomes as you layer three images together thus exaggerating the grain x3.Delta 100 in ID-11 with Red, Green and Blue exposures.
Used this as the first roll through a 1930s Zeiss Iconta after resetting the focus scale. The shutter speeds are "close-ish" but the Delta had no problem at all dealing with any variation from metered values.Sharpness was limited by the camera - it was pretty clear that the film itself was miles ahead of the lens, but that's what you get for shooting old folders! Really nice tones, solid contrast, and plenty of latitude - pretty much everything you could want in a stock film! It's easy to handle, dries flat, and scans beautifully using default settings.Developing in Perceptol stock according to Ilford's timings produced nicely graduated negatives with essentially no grain. Really couldn't have been easier!I normally keep this in 35mm, but this is the first ... MoreUsed this as the first roll through a 1930s Zeiss Iconta after resetting the focus scale. Delta 100 is a fantastic film, no doubt. It is extremely detailed and sharp, has wonderful tones, and responds extremely well to coloured filters. When I developed and scanned my first roll, I was a bit irritated by the neutral tones as I like my films contrasty. Don't let that discourage you! Delta 100 captures so much data, it is great for darkroom printing or digital post-processing. After that first irritation, I stupidly set the film aside for a while and focused on my contrastier favourites instead (i.e. Tri-X). What a mistake! The photos I keep going back to now were all shot on Delta 100! Attached are two sample shots taken on a Rolleicord Vb and developed in XTOL 1:1.
Ilford are the premier manufacturer of B&W film in this 'post Kodak' era (yes, Kodak still make some B&W film, but they are a shadow of their former selves and their product lines are limited). This 'low ISO' film by Ilford has excellent grain characteristics and is equally suited to landscape and studio portrait work. An ideal companion to any medium format film camera.
This is another first for me, shooting Ilford Delta 100. I've read plenty of comments about it's barely-there grain and they're true. This film is smooth. I shot my roll on an overcast afternoon in a derelict old warehouse with huge windows. I was really pleased with the results. The detail resolved in the negs is wonderful, with lovely tonal range and contrast too. I do love some contrast in my images! Pay attention to your exposure though as it's not quite as forgiving as other black and white films can be.Delta 100 is selling at a really good price too, so there's really no excuse not to have a roll or two kicking around your camera bag.
Delta 100 is an all round great looking film. The grain is fine, the contrast ratio incredible and the resulting look is hard to beat. If you check some of my sample shots you'll see one of them shooting straight into the sun - just slightly obscured behind a tree - but not only are there still details in the white clouds, but the direct shadow of the tree also has detail. It is very robust, with a lot of potential push if you want it although you will lose some of that beautiful subtlety in the greys and end up with a harder edged, more contrasty look. I develop at home with Ilford Ilfosol 3 and a fine developer really compliments the fine grain in the film. Sample shots are from my Hasselblad 500CM. I just love Delta 100! Red Window suitability 2/5. The printing on the backing paper is feint and only legible in good light so -1*This film had a difficult start. I couldn't see the numbers when loading it onto my Zeiss ikoflex and I wound it too far, meaning I had to re spool it in the dark bag, possibly causing an issue or two in the process. This was test roll #2 for the ikoflex which has issues, but I am working through them. The film is really nice. Grain is low and the contrast is nicely balanced. Highlight detail is very good and shadow detail is good. Image quality is very sharp. The images below were processed in caffenol Delta (stock recipe)
