I meant to order the FILM developer not the paper one, however it works beautifully for developing film! You use a lot less chemistry (diluting 1/19) and keeping the same processing time all my film has come out beautifully.

Working in very large format (42 and up) I need to make gallons of developer at a time, and this is an excellent choice that is also incredibly affordable.

Excellent developer for RC or Fibre papers. Working solution keeps for longer then expected so you don't need to chuck it away after a darkroom session (within reason).

I am using this product with middle school art students. We are working with pinhole cameras. The developer is easy to mix and produces high quality tones in the photographs.
The price for 5 Litres makes this very economical & cost effective solution for developing B&W photographic paper producing excellent consistant results. It works out a much better deal than buying one Litre of the same product. Keep it cool & once opened purge the air out of the space with an "Inert Gas" to prevent "Oxidisation" which greatly reduces it's life by many months, quality "Propane" will also purge out any air & do the same job. Do not use "Co2" as this is not inert & is absorbed by liquids contaminating them. Depending on how much photo developing you do may make it seem expensive only it can be shared with friends with similar interests.
Ilford Multigrade Developer Liquid concentrate is a great product especially when you transfer it to collapsible containers.
I run a community darkroom in addition to my own. The community darkroom will buy whatever cheap paper developer they can find. But for my own work I always use this. Consistent, good shelf life. I do go through it pretty fast though.
I use it for both fiber-based and RC papers. FB paper is affected by a dry-down. RC paper is virtually not. I find that with this developer FB and RC papers are well matched: I figure out exposure, burn, dodge using RC. Then do a final FB print following _exactly_ the same procedure. This takes care of dry-down most of the time.
25yrs have used spclly with ilford's warmtonestore it in black wipe down litle splashesand reuse the used fore continuing quality printsone kickin chicken indeed
