Love the texture of this photo paper. My prints look beautiful and Ilford Art 300 is so easy to tone, flatten and frame. I've read that some photographers feel the texture can be best appreciated without glass in front it. I can see what they're talking about. However, prints still look awesome behind glass. When I first started using this paper last year, I was purchasing a 50 sheet of 8x10 Ilford Art 300 for $65. Since then, the price has gone up twice and is now $95. I understand that, with the Covid 19 pandemic, things are hard on everyone. I just hope it doesn't go up again anytime soon.

Not for me.

As I use Hahnemuhle paper for my platinum and palladium printing, I had great hopes for this product. Unfortunately, I don't have the traditional darkroom skills to make this paper work. Despite all the advice I could glean from the reviews, and one conversation with B&H help line, I consistently get a prominent brown edge stain. The chemistries are all from Ilford except for Photographers Formulary TF-5 rapid fix. The black spots are annoying as well. I already enjoy a high cost printing method (pl/pl) and not looking for another.

Stunning Fine Art Paper
9 December 2022

I heard mixed opinions on this paper from people getting dirty edges on the paper to the texture being too much of a bite. I had to give it a try. The deepest blacks all the way to the lightest of grays are perfect. The only drawback is its glisten in direct light which makes it impossible to scan. This paper performs amazing with sepia and selenium split toning too! A photo of the print doesn't truly do this paper justice, you have to use to truly appreciate this paper.

Very confused
24 August 2022

Hello,I write to you with great concern and great confusion.I have been working with this paper for many years and have bought from you many times. This has never happened to me before and I would like to see how we can solve it.In the attached photo you can see that the edge has a stain. I used 3 different sheets and the same thing happened in all of them. This only happened to me with the large paper (16X20), the other smaller one (11X14) that I bought together with this one worked perfectly, with impeccable whites and deep blacks.I have the impression that there is a problem with the fiber of the paper. It's just an idea, because I really don't know why the paper behaved this way.I hope to have an answer and a solution.I don't live in the USA, I live ... MoreHello,I write to you with great concern and great confusion.I have been working with this paper for many years and have bought from you many times. [Rewarded Review] A good paper for special applications
5 January 2024

I took off one star as the paper cost a bit too much in my opinion, but I love the fact that Ilford is still making a lot of photographic papers available. The paper is ultra thick, tones really well, and has an eggshell finish making it perfect for hand coloring. It is one of the richest neutral papers that I have seen since Agfa was making Brovira. I would like it even more if Illford could make a warm toned version of this paper.

[Rewarded Review] Great Product but it will take ages to get to you
28 August 2024

Love this paper—great tones and noticeable and interesting watercolor texture for darkroom prints, but be wary of their suggested lead times for receiving this item if it's out of stock. They advertised that it would take between 2-4 weeks for delivery when it ended up taking nearly 11 weeks. I understand B&H was just waiting to receive the product from Ilford, but any time I reached out for delivery updates I was just told it would take a few more weeks. I don't think B&H talks too closely with their vendors.

[Rewarded Review] Love the paper.
27 March 2020

I just love this paper's texture. And the contrast is beautiful when Selenium toned. Makes you want to touch the print as well as see it. So much nicer than an inkjet print. Saddened to see the price jump from $65 to $84 for a fifty sheet box of 8x10. As I go through a lot of photo paper, I will no longer be able to continue using Ilford Art 300 as my primary photo paper. I guess I should consider the many hours of fun I had when it was more affordable. I'd post a photo that I've printed. But my cell phone camera wouldn't do it justed. If you can afford to 'splurge' on a photo paper, you'll enjoy Ilford Art 300.

[Rewarded Review] Luxurious Paper
11 April 2024

Art 300 is perhaps the finest paper I have ever used. Of course, some images are best printed on gloss finish. But for those that look better with some paper texture, this is THE paper to use. It does require about 2 times the light as Ilford FB papers require, but that is a non-issue (other than the cost of running test strips). The Art 300 also takes color retouching (Marshall Oils) beautifully. Love the heavy-weight of this paper as well. Deep blacks and lovely tonal range. This nothing not to like here.

[Rewarded Review] My favorite!!
11 November 2022

This has been a discovery for me, I love the texture of the paper and the warm tone. Landscape photos look splendid. It's also easy to retouch the photos with watercolors for black and white photography, and get creative with them. To other side I follow the time recommended by the manufacturer that is fast and I like that, 10 seconds in the stop bath and no more than 1 minute in developer. I like a lot the possibilities with this Art 300 mutigrade by Hanhemuhle. I recommend it a lot!!
