This is italian caffè, made with whole bean coffee Arabica. When you open the tin you can smell already coffee aroma very strong, inside the tin there is coffee powder. To prepare italian caffè, you will need the moka where you put water, inside the filter you put coffee powder, then close the moka and put on the gas. When the water boils, it goes into fhe filter and finally the caffè comes out, you will need small cups as italian caffè is very strong , you have to add some sugar and coffe is ready to be drinked. This coffe is very energetic and will make you very active, italians. Usually italians drink caffè in the morning and after dinner because is digestive. Another tip: some people when have head ache they just drink a caffè because the caffeina is pain killer!

I don't like light roast coffee, but often find dark roasts taste bitter or like burnt sugar. None of the Illy dark roast are like that. I have a subscription and get regular shipments of Illy coffee and like to switch between the Intenso, Guatemalan, and Indian coffees for variety. The Intenso is satisfying and smooth and bold without a hint of the unpleasant bitterness or burnt flavor in other dark roasts.

I tried numerous roasts from the top roasters and espresso purveyors. When I tasted the Illy Intenso Dark Roast, I felt that it bonded really well with my taste buds ... they became best friends ... It is Arabica, to start with, has a chocolaty after-taste, very smooth, with no bitterness. Furthermore, when I found that my preferred espresso machines retailer and service centre, Anthony's Espresso Equipment, sells it, with free delivery, it became a no-brainer ...The choice of espresso beans is subjective, as it is a matter of taste, and tastes do differ. However, Anthony Espresso's service is objectively second to none!!

It's been a while since I started using Illy Coffee, good things take time, Like making Illy Coffee and taking the time to write a good review after a while has gone by so as to better give a balanced review that highlights the best aspects of this great coffee. When I took my first sip I tasted delicious flavors that I have never tasted in any other coffee. I don't have the words to describe it. I knew, however, that these wonderful flavors were from exotic and faraway places that give their beans distinctive flavors because of the unique soil elements, growing conditions, and weather patterns of these faraway lands. World travel by coffee tasting, imagine that. It's the next best thing to being there. So, in conclusion, I give Illy Coffee a top rating of 5 stars ... My mornings start with Macchiato in my Selamica Espresso Cups, made with Illy Intenso Bold Roast . My daughter and I love our morning routine that starts with the Selamica Cup. We use Illy's super-fine ground, the best coffee I have found. The layer of crema is superb; rich & flavorful. A few drops of maple syrup in the bottom of the Selamica cup sweetens it to perfection for my taste.Selamica & Illy Intenso Bold Roast receive JPAUL'S HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.
Background: I use a Moka Pot every morning for my coffee. I have always just ground whole bean coffee I like and played with grind size to get it right. Out of curiosity I decided to try an Italian coffee ground specifically for the Moka Pot to see what a “proper” Moka experience should be.The quality of the coffee itself is hard to speak on. I’m not sure what “good” Italian coffee is supposed to taste like. Folks on Illy’s website seem to think their coffee is quite consistent with what they experienced in Italy. For me, the flavors and aromas of this coffee seemed cheap and basic. Very little complexity. I was left thinking ‘well, it’s coffee.’The true issue I take with this coffee is not it’s lackluster personality, but it’s preparation. The website and the ... For me, the flavors and aromas of this coffee seemed cheap and basic. Very little complexity. I was left thinking ‘well, it’s coffee.’The true issue I take with this coffee is not it’s lackluster personality, but it’s preparation. The website and the can specifically note that this coffee is made for the Moka Pot (pictured on the can). However, the grind of this coffee is so fine, it falls right through the holes in the funnel and is pressed up through the holes in the base of the pot when brewing. This coffee is ground for espresso and in my opinion is no good for any other purpose.Ultimately, I find the advertising misleading, and this product a waste of money and time.Aside from this product itself, it did ship quickly and arrived earlier than expected.
These beans are very different from prior years. Dark, oily finish that jams semi-automatic espresso machines. Every year at the holidays I purchase these and as expected within 1 grind my machine jammed and I had to tear it apart to clean out the oily bean mess.Support did assist me in selecting and replacing with Medium Roast - it's good but noticeably different taste and smell from what I used to purchase before.I know you use many suppliers but that's your job to help customers sleect the best Illy product for an application. It's like your company reformulated and forgot to recalibrate the message for customers. A note on the product page saying what it is suitable for and what it is not suitable for is necessary. And the FAQ page ehhh too many to be ... MoreThese beans are very different from prior years. Dark, oily finish that jams semi-automatic espresso machines.
