Illy classico espresso medium roast ground coffee, 8.8 oz

My kitchen and entire body got sprayed by the coffee content while prying open the top gently. Believe its due packaging air pressure. Took me 2 days to clear the tiny granules. \nFrom image the foil cover wasnt even entirely opened so not sure why the huge mess created in my entire kitchen with the contents spraying more than 1m away. \nMerchant reply was apologetic but did not offer any solution. So much so for being one of top Italian coffee maker. And im submitting this poor review only after rcving their replies. \n\nWould not purchase again base on this incident alone.

This is italian caffè, made with whole bean coffee Arabica. When you open the tin you can smell already coffee aroma very strong, inside the tin there is coffee powder. To prepare italian caffè, you will need the moka where you put water, inside the filter you put coffee powder, then close the moka and put on the gas. When the water boils, it goes into fhe filter and finally the caffè comes out, you will need small cups as italian caffè is very strong , you have to add some sugar and coffe is ready to be drinked. This coffe is very energetic and will make you very active, italians. Usually italians drink caffè in the morning and after dinner because is digestive. Another tip: some people when have head ache they just drink a caffè because the caffeina is pain killer!

All Coffee should be packaged with way.

I love the packaging as much as the coffee. Absolutely no plastic on the 125G Tin, unlike the large 500G Tin that has a non-removable plastic insert in the lid. Illy can't you make this removable, so it's easier to recycle?All coffee should be packaged this way, it's by far the most environmental packaging in terms of its ability to be recycled, and Illy should be commended for it, but as said only the 125g tin.It's about time we started looking at the top 1000 products sold to remove single use plastic, and looking at who has the best packaging for that product and force manufacturers and supermarkets to use it. Steel is so easy to recycle, again and again, that's why I buy this coffee.

Coffee was good but we didn't like the packaging

Our daughter bought us a larger tin of this coffee so as to taste it. When I went to open the coffee- because the contents are under pressure, the coffee spewed out everywhere. There are actually in red instructions now on the top of the tin, strict directions for opening this can- and slowly and tapping the can first are amongst them?! Too much trouble to go through, as there are many other coffees out there that don't require instructions like this! I immediately called the store I got it from- then, as well, Illy's Company Customer Service there-to let themall know about what happened when I opened the canned coffee -slowly even- as myarthritic fingers could ONLY do that anyway. Morning Macchiato Magic

My mornings start with Macchiato in my Selamica Espresso Cups, made with Illy Intenso Bold Roast . My daughter and I love our morning routine that starts with the Selamica Cup. We use Illy's super-fine ground, the best coffee I have found. The layer of crema is superb; rich & flavorful. A few drops of maple syrup in the bottom of the Selamica cup sweetens it to perfection for my taste.Selamica & Illy Intenso Bold Roast receive JPAUL'S HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

NOT for Moka Pot brewer

Background: I use a Moka Pot every morning for my coffee. I have always just ground whole bean coffee I like and played with grind size to get it right. Out of curiosity I decided to try an Italian coffee ground specifically for the Moka Pot to see what a “proper” Moka experience should be.The quality of the coffee itself is hard to speak on. I’m not sure what “good” Italian coffee is supposed to taste like. Folks on Illy’s website seem to think their coffee is quite consistent with what they experienced in Italy. For me, the flavors and aromas of this coffee seemed cheap and basic. Very little complexity. However, the grind of this coffee is so fine, it falls right through the holes in the funnel and is pressed up through the holes in the base of the pot when brewing. This coffee is ground for espresso and in my opinion is no good for any other purpose.Ultimately, I find the advertising misleading, and this product a waste of money and time.Aside from this product itself, it did ship quickly and arrived earlier than expected.

Perfect Cup of Coffee

I now drink my coffee black without cream or sugar. Illy Classico coffee is my morning “go to”. It is delicious on its own. Best of all, my heart never races after a cup of Illy Classico. I buy 6 cans at a time “coffee preparation”. Absolutely brilliant. Nothing else comes close. I use Chemex filters. Finally, I can brew a perfect cup of coffee at home.

Team Illy

We were given a can of Illy coffee as a gift. Once we made our first pot, we decided that Illy would be the only coffee for us. Luckily, our local grocery had Illy on sale, so we tried several different blends. Each was great tasting and satisifying. We set up a subscription on Amazon until we realized that to purchase directly through Illy was by far the better deal. We sent a gift box of various coffees to our pet sitter and she was thrilled to receive it. We are now officially team Illy all the way.

Trust an italian, this makes good espresso!

I am italian and I’m proud to say that lily coffee comes from my region. Good coffee it’s hard to find and I’m so glad I’m able to purchase this brand at Target. The taste is decise and intense. I use it with a Bialetti moka and the result is a great espresso. You can’t go wrong with this brand. In Italy this is considered a high price range coffee, that goes for about 6€. So the price is reasonable.
