The Illy Milk Frother makes perfect creamy foam. This works much better than the Nespresso frother I previously owned and is much easier to clean. The resulting milk foam/froth is worth it.I am fussy about my cappuccinos and lattes and this machine is fabulous. I use my Illy espresso machine paired with this frother and I have enjoyed some of the best espresso drinks I have ever had.I highly recommend it.

I am genuinely surprised at how much I love this product! I read a review elsewhere that said the illy milk frother operated very quietly and was great with plant-based milk, two features which were most attractive to me. I completely agree! The machine very quietly heats up and foams/froths my mix of flavored creamer & almond milk in the mornings and the foam is absolutely delicious on a hot latte! It's incredibly simple to use, too. So glad I went out on a limb and made this purchase!

Works very well. It is much better than the Breville BMF600XL, which I replaced for the Illy Milk Frother. The Illy frother has a more stable platform on the base with larger heating pad. The Illy frother is quiet, much quieter than the Breville. The major negative is there is no way to lock the touch buttons from accidental activation, since the frother is always on when plugged in.

I received this in the mail today and straight away unpacked it washed/dried what was needed and frothed my first milk. It was truly much better than I had anticipated. Perfect temperature micro-foam that made lovely peaks in my cup. I tried 2% milk today and will be trying other types of foam - I am very excited to once again be able to enjoy a lovely cappuccino (I cannot get one out as I am gluten free.) I love the following (besides the lovely foam!); the pitcher separates from the base; the pitcher is stainless (I do not want non-stick chemicals touching my hot milk); the extra wheels store easily under the base; the size is perfect. This is an exceptionally well designed product.

We're not sure how to get it to work other than to remove the frothing attachment, put it back on, and press down with force, which works every one out of three times. We called customer service to get a replacement. The representative had us cut milk frother's electrical cord in order to get our replacement. Only after we cut the cord did the representative tell us that they would not replace our black and stainless steel frother, but would only send us the cheaper white version. To add insult to injury, they wanted us to pay sales tax on our replacement, and could only offer to send us "complimentary" coffee. It does take a few minutes to froth and that's o.k. I simply start the frother first followed by making my coffee. I only use non dairy products (almond cashew walnut ) milk and it works well. If I used dairy products it would froth even thicker. It is very quiet as long as you put enough milk to reach the minimum line. It makes plenty at the minimum line for 1 person really a little extra. It is simple to use. Only 3 settings and that is enough. I press the first button and I'm done. You get a little ding when it's done. Better than a loud tone early in the morning. Clean up is so easy. I bought this product a few months ago after being recommended by a friend and I absolutely love it. It heats and cools the milk when frothing and takes about a minute. Extremely easy to use. After a few months it stopped foaming the milk and I was able to get ahold of customer service and get a replacement with such ease and they were so kind and helpful. A major thing I love about this company is that the shipping contents contained almost no plastic except for a compostable plastic bag. Commitments to sustainability are huge for me so I will most definitely continue to buy from them
This was a replacement for the Breville model. It has a smaller footprint, and the design is great. It's nearly silent where my old one was very loud when frosting the milk. It also makes a perfect foam. I was worried that it wouldn't make it hot enough because it only has three settings. The hot feature is definitely hot. The little jug feels durable But I would recommend handwashing everything to keep it looking nice.
Within a year of purchasing the illy electric milk frother it started to fail. Not to worry - so I thought -since it had a one year warranty backed by illy. From the date of my initial contact for a warranty claim it took 7 MONTHS to receive the replacement! Endless emails and calls ending in frustration. I finally received the replacement but I promise you I will NEVER pay for another illy product. Best to consider their inept customer service before purchasing.
Tried it for hot chocolate and Vietnamese coffee so far. Followed directions to premix before pouring in pot. Cycle was very long and every attempt has resulted in burned cocoa or coffee in the bottom of the pot. Also has made a very loud high pitched noise at the end of the cycle about 1/2 the times I've used it. Wouldn't recommend unless you are using only for frothing. I haven't tried frothing yet. I hope it's better than the other functions.
