Replacement for Insinkerator 45

We bought an E75 as the old 45 model that was in the house we bought burned out (this was due to visitors putting banana and pumpkin skins through it). The E75 has exactly the same height dimensions as a 45 (I think all the standard models do), with regard to where the discharge pipe exits (i.e. no new plumbing required under the sink to swap over), but I had to remove the old disposal pipe that came with the 45 and use the new disposal pipe supplied with the E75 (cut to length with a hacksaw - easy), as the one from the 45 isn't suitable for fitting the rubber gasket supplied with the E75. If you don't use the gasket the E75 will leak. You don't have to install, or use, the air switch if you don't want to because you already have a wall switch installed from your old model. You can just set the E75 to 'on' by attaching the air switch and pressing the air switch button once. Then disconnect the air switch hose and just use the wall switch to turn it on/off as you did with the 45 (or whatever model you're replacing). This is covered in the instructions. It still isn't recommended to put fibrous plant matter like banana skins into this model, you should get an Evolution model (100 or better) for this apparently. It's still a significant upgrade from the noise perspective in our experience, hoping it won't need replacing again for a long time! Replacement will take less than 30 minutes if you get it all right first time and you can totally do it yourself, although it helps to have a second pair of hands for attaching the unit to the sink and the plumbing. You can use the old sink attachment (i.e. the round cage-like structure at the top and the flange that holds it in the sink) from prior models if you want, as they are all the same, or replace it all (the new sink attachment flange that you can see when looking at the sink is shinier so we replaced everything as it was only a few minutes work extra). The new sound baffle fits the old sink attachment fine.
